Shut off power, water and CO 2 supplies to unit. Remove lid (1A), manual fill lid; if unit is equipped with this part and merchandiser (1B) also remove any objects blocking access to ice bin of unit (See Figures 1 and 2). Place all parts and fasteners in a safe place until needed for reassembly. 2D 2E 2. Remove paddlewheel pin (2A), agitator bar (2B), bin liner (2C), paddlewheel (2D) and paddlewheel area (2E) from ice bin of unit (See Figure 2). Place all parts and fasteners except the paddlewheel area in a safe place until needed for reassembly. 2C 2B FIGURE 2 2A 3. Use sensor locating template (3A) to trim mounting location in paddlewheel area for thermostat sensor. The hole pattern (3B, 3C and 3E) is used on 150, 175 MII and MD model units. The hole pattern (3B, 3C and 3D) is used on 200, 250 MII and MD model units (See Figure 3). Pg. 1
3F 3D 3C FIGURE 3 Paddlewheel Side 3A 4C 3B 3E 4. Measure down right side of paddlewheel area (4A) from the angled ledge 5.500 inches and mark a straight horizontal line (4C) across paddlewheel area (See Figure 4). Place the top of sensor locating template (4B) parallel to horizontal line (4C) and press 90 degree break of template against paddlewheel area (See Figure 4). Depending on model of unit the kit is being installed will determine which hole patterns in sensor locating template (3A) are used to trim paddlewheel area (See Figure 3 and review step 3 of instructions). Mark the.188 inch diameter hole (3F) and 3 of the 4 model specific.141 inch diameter holes (3B, 3C, 3D or 3E) in sensor locating template (See Figures 3, 4 and 5). 4A 5. Once the appropriate holes are marked connect the 3 model specific.141 inch diameter marked holes by drawing lines to each creating a triangle (5B) (See Figure 5). FIGURE 4 4B 6. Use the.171 inch drill bit to drill through.188 inch marked hole (5A) on paddlewheel area (See Figure 5). Use a pair of metal snips or shears to cutout the marked triangular pattern (5B) (See Figure 5). Figure 6 shows models 150 and 175 paddlewheel area with thermostat sensor mounting trimming. Figure 7 shows models 200 and 250 paddlewheel area with thermostat sensor mounting trimming. All trimmed edges and drilled holes on paddlewheel area must be free of burrs. Pg. 2
5A FIGURE 5 5B 7. Place control mounting template (8A) left side.141 inch diameter hole (8B) over.141 inch diameter existing hole (8C) on top right side of foam front (8E) (See Figure 8). Be sure control mounting template is horizontally level and mark the right side.141 inch diameter hole of template (8D). This will transpose hole location onto foam front of unit. Use the #29 drill bit to drill through marked hole on foam front. 8. Use the.250 inch drill bit to drill through existing.250 inch diameter hole (9A) into ice bin of unit (See Figure 9). Existing.250 inch diameter hole (9A) is located on right side of foam front (9C) just above yellow warning label (9B) (See Figure 9). Clean out all drilling debris from inside of ice bin. FIGURE 6 FIGURE 7 9. View left side of unit and look below the key switch (10A) for a black removable plug and remove the plug. If unit does not have the removable plug then a.500 inch diameter hole must be drilled in valve mount cap panel (10B). Measure down 2.500 inches from top of valve mount cap (10B) and mark a straight horizontal line. Measure inward.625 inches from front of valve mount cap (10B) and mark a straight vertical line, which will create a cross hair center point (See Figure 10). Drill a.500 inch diameter hole through cross hair center point mark and be careful not to drill into beverage lines or wires located behind valve mount cap. Pg. 3
8B 8E 8C 8D 10. Install the 120 volt red empty light into.500 inch hole under key switch on left side of valve mount cap panel. The red lens of 120 volt red empty light will be visible from left exterior side of unit when properly installed. FIGURE 8 8A 11. Thermostat (11A) will be preset and wired when received (See Figure 11). Thermostat is preset to cutout at 40 degrees Fahrenheit with a 1degree Fahrenheit differential setting and the anti-short cycle delay is set at 0. The thermostat manufacturer s installation literature has been included to provide operation, function and settings information. 9C 12. Open front cover of thermostat by removing the 4 screws in cover to access top mounting holes. Use newly drilled.141 diameter hole (8A), existing.141 diameter hole (8C) on foam front (8E) of unit and both 8-32 ES form screws to mount thermostat (12A) (See Figures 8 and 12). 13. Use low level light wiring label to connect thermostat wiring connections (11C) into wiring of unit (See Figures 11 and 13). Place and adhere low level light wiring label next to wiring diagram of unit. 9B FIGURE 9 9A Pg. 4
10A Top Front 10B 14. Place thermostat sensor (11B) through.250 inch diameter drilled hole (12B) into ice bin of unit (See Figures 11 and 12). Pull 30 inches of sensor cable (11D and 15A) inside ice bin of unit (See Figures 11 and 15). Seal around sensor cable (11D) where cable enters foam front (12B) and exits through wall of ice bin with clear silicone (See Figures 12 and 15). FIGURE 10 11D 11A 15. Place.188 inch cable clamp (14C) around top edge of thermostat sensor (14B) (See Figure 14). Place the 8-32 knurled screw (16B) through.171 inch diameter drilled hole (5A) in paddlewheel area (See Figures 5 and 16). Place cable clamp with thermostat sensor over knurled screw on inside surface of paddlewheel area and fasten in place with the 8-32 stainless steel nut (See Figures 14 and 16). Thermostat sensor (16A) must be located in trimmed triangular opening (5B) of paddlewheel area (See Figures 5, 14 and 16). 11C FIGURE 11 11B 16. Reassemble paddlewheel area with attached sensor (15B) inside ice bin of unit (See Figure 15). The 30 inches of sensor cord (15C) inside ice bin must to be located between motor box (15A) and paddlewheel area (15B) (See Figure 15). Be sure thermostat sensor (16A) is not touching ice bin or bin liner after installation of paddlewheel area (See Figure 16). Pg. 5
17. Reassemble bin liner (2C), paddlewheel (2D), agitator bar (2B) and paddlewheel pin (2A) inside ice bin of unit (See Figure 2). 18. Reassemble merchandiser (1B), manual fill lid; if unit is equipped with this part, lid (1A) and any objects that were removed for access to ice bin of unit (See Figure 1). 12 FIGURE 12 12B 19. Turn on power, water and CO 2 supplies to unit. Check for leaks and make sure unit is operating properly before placing into service. FIGURE 13 Pg. 6
