INTRODUCTION: CS-5601 4 WINDOW CONTROL MODULE INSTALLATION & OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS CONGRATULATIONS on your choice of a 4 Window Control Module by Crimestopper Security Products Inc. This booklet contains the information necessary for installing, and operating your system. If any questions arise, contact your installation dealer or Crimestopper Security Products Inc. at the Tech Support number below. *IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This system does not affect the operation of the factory power window switches. This is an ADD-ON module to an Alarm, Remote Start, or Keyless Entry system. It is designed for medium to high current window motors. It can roll 4 windows UP or DOWN, or 2 windows UP and DOWN. Each window circuit activates in sequence, one at a time. This minimizes the current draw on the vehicle battery. This installation book is designed for the installer or individual with an existing understanding of automotive electrical systems, along with the ability to test and connect wires for proper operation. To ease installation, we suggest that you READ THIS MANUAL before beginning your installation. The information contained in this manual is provided as a GENERAL GUIDLINE and it may differ from your vehicle! If you are not confident with performing the installation steps as required by this system, we suggest seeking professional installation. TABLE OF CONTENTS Pre-Installation & Component Mounting... 2-3 Wiring....3-4 4 Windows UP............5 2 Windows UP and DOWN... 6 Vehicles with Normally Open Power windows... 7 Testing and Adjusting Window Shut Off Current.. 8 PRE-INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS To ease installation, we suggest that you READ THIS MANUAL before beginning your installation. BEFORE BEGINNING, check all vehicle manufacturer cautions and warnings regarding electrical service (AIR BAGS, ABS BRAKES, ENGINE / BODY COMPUTER AND BATTERY). PLAN OUT YOUR INSTALLATION and determine most suitable locations for all components to be placed. These components include: the module itself, valet/program button and possible relays. Allow enough wire to create a service loop with strain relief, should servicing be required. DAMAGE resulting from incorrect installation or failure to follow guidelines stated in this book will not be covered under warranty and subject to repair or replacement charges. USE A VOLT/OHM METER to test and locate all connections. Test Lights can damage a vehicle s computer systems. ADDITIONAL PARTS, extra relays (Part #CS-402A) for converting normally open or normally powered window switches to normally grounded. DO NOT ROUTE ANY WIRING THAT MAY BECOME ENTANGLED with brake, and gas pedals, steering column, or any other moving parts in the vehicle. REMOVE MAIN SYSTEM FUSE (S) before jump starting the vehicle or charging the vehicles battery. 2
COMPONENT MOUNTING CONTROL MODULE: Locate the module under dash as high as possible, away from moving parts. Driver s Side usually provides an easy location for the majority of the wiring connections. WARNING: Module isn t water proof. Don t Install CS-5601 Module inside vehicle door. If the module gets water damaged, the vehicle windows could stop working. WIRING 8 Position Connector Plug Small Wires 1 - GRAY: Negative roll trigger for Circuit #1 and #2. Circuit #1 and #2 are controlled by LOOP 1 - USE ONLY ONE. 2 - GRAY/WHITE: Positive roll trigger for Circuit #1 and #2. 3 - BLACK: SYSTEM CHASSIS GROUND: This wire must be connected to chassis metal of vehicle. Scrape away any paint or dirt from the connection point to ensure a good connection. 4 - GREEN: (-) 300 milliamps Negative output though out operation of any 4 circuits 5 - YELLOW: (+) 300 milliamps Positive output through out operation of any 4 circuits 6 - BLUE: Negative roll trigger for Circuit #3 and #4. Circuit #3 and #4 are controlled by LOOP 2 - USE ONLY ONE. 7 - BLUE/RED: Positive roll trigger for Circuit #3 and #4. 8 - PINK: Connect to an ignition wire that shows +12 Volts when the key in both On and Start positions. This wire prevents the module from activating the windows while driving the vehicle. 3
