(3) Self-tapping screw 1/ x 3/ in. (2) Hex head cap screw 1/ x 3/ in. (2) Split lock washer 1/ in. (2) Hex nut 1/ in. Extra fasteners are provided NOTE: The recommended mounting position is on the cab ceiling as shown in Figure 1. This places the display within easy reach and in a convenient viewing position. Combine Installation JD 33//66/77; 2 Ag Leader Technology Step-by-Step Procedure 1. Assemble U-bracket to ceiling bracket as shown in Figure 2. Install display to U-bracket using provided knobs. Figure 2. U-bracket assembled to ceiling bracket 2. Position bracket assembly (with display installed) against ceiling to determine best location and angle for viewing and operation. Mark (2) holes of bracket on ceiling. 3. Remove screws holding radio to cab ceiling and lower radio to verify mounting screws will not interfere with wires or air conditioning lines before drilling holes.. Punch and drill (2) holes through ceiling using provided punch and 9/32 in. drill bit. 5. Remove display from U-bracket and attach bracket assembly to ceiling using 1/ in. cap screws, lock washers and hex nuts. 6. Re-install display to U-bracket. 6 December 25 Rev C

Ag Leader Technology Combine Installation JD 33//66/77; 2 Installing Cab & Distribution Cables Parts required for procedure: (1) Cab cable (1) Distribution cable (1) Grommet (1) Alcohol swab packet Plastic cable clips Step-by-Step Procedure 1. Connect 25-pin D-shaped connector of cab cable to mating connector on back of display. IMPORTANT: Never use force to mate electrical connectors. If connectors do not mate easily, they are not aligned properly. 2. Lift right-front corner of cab floor mat to see if 1-3/8 in. diameter knockout in cab floor has been removed. If it is still in place, completely remove it. 3. Push each connector of distribution cable down through hole in floor.. Install grommet (3/ in. I.D.) around wires of distribution cable and insert grommet into hole in floor as shown in Figure 3. Distribution installed Figure 3. Combine Installation JD 33//66/77; 2 Ag Leader Technology 5. Connect 2-pin plug of cab cable to 2-pin receptacle of distribution cable. 6. Determine desired routing for cab cable from display to floor. Secure cab cable using provided adhesive backed cable clips. Clean surface with alcohol swab before attaching adhesive backed cable clips to ensure good adhesion. Installing Power Cable Parts required for procedure: (1) Power cable Cable ties Step-by-Step Procedure 1. Connect power and ground leads of power cable to batteries. Ensure red fused wire goes to positive terminal and black wire goes to negative terminal. Install ring terminals of power cable to bolts of battery clamps. Check for 12-volt nominal power across terminals. 2. Route power cable to distribution cable by passing it through a hole in plate between engine compartment and area under cab. 3. Connect power cable to mating connector of distribution cable. 8 December 25 Rev C

Ag Leader Technology Combine Installation JD 33//66/77; 2 Installing Elevator Speed Cable Parts required for procedure: (1) Elevator speed cable (1) Elevator speed power cable (not required on all machines) Cable ties Step-by-Step Procedure 1. Locate elevator speed sensor at left end of clean grain cross auger. If machine is not equipped with an elevator speed sensor, one must be purchased from a JD dealer and installed as shown in Figure. Figure. Elevator speed sensor on left side of combine 2. Install tee end of elevator speed cable between existing wiring harness and shaft speed sensor. If machine was not originally equipped with elevator speed sensor, only (1) connector of tee connection will be used because combine harness is non-existent. Do not confuse ground speed cable with elevator speed cable. NOTE: For early model combines with round connectors, use provided adapters to connect elevator speed cable to sensor. 3. Tie elevator speed cable to existing low shaft speed sensor and follow harness up. Ensure it is tied securely where it passes under chain sprockets. PN: 251-1 December 25 Rev C 9

At inlet line for remote hydrostatic charge pump (a small belt driven gear pump), route cable forward along existing electric wiring running parallel to hydrostatic charge pump line after it bends. 5. At 6 in. above charge pump, route elevator speed cable along hydrostatic pump control push/pull cable. Follow to area near distribution cable. 6. Connect elevator speed cable to distribution cable as follows: a. Machines with factory installed elevator speed sensor Simply connect elevator speed cable to mating connector of distribution cable. b. Machines with retrofitted elevator speed sensor Connect elevator speed cable and elevator speed power cable to mating connectors of distribution cable as shown in Figure 5. Elevator speed power cable is required to supply power to sensor since combine harness is non-existent. Figure 5. Elevator speed sensor and cables 1 December 25 Rev C

Ag Leader Technology Combine Installation JD 33//66/77; 2 Installing Ground Speed Cable Parts required for procedure: (1) Ground speed cable (1) Ground speed sensor (1) Magnetic collar assembly (2) Hex jam nuts Cable ties NOTE: A magnetic collar assembly and sensor must be installed before ground speed cable can be installed. Parts are provided. Step-by-Step Procedure 1. Install provided magnetic collar assembly and sensor on final drive shaft on right side of machine as shown in Figure 6. Clearance between sensor and magnetic collar assembly should be 1/16 to 1/8-inch. Installer must fabricate bracket for sensor. Magnet Collar Assembly Ground Speed Sensor Final Drive Shaft Figure 6. Magnetic collar installed 2. Connect either end of ground speed cable to ground speed sensor. 3. Route other end of ground speed cable up to distribution cable and connect to mating connector of distribution cable. PN: 251-1 December 25 Rev C 11

Combine Installation JD 33//66/77; 2 Ag Leader Technology Installing Header Height Sensor Parts required for procedure: (1) Header height sensor (1) Arm assembly (1) Extension spring (1) S-hook (1) Clamp plate (2) Cap screw 5/16 x 1-1/2 in. (2) Lock nut 5/16 in. () Flat washer 5/16 in. Cable ties Step-by-Step Procedure 1. Install arm assembly into hole of sensor pivot shaft using a nut and lock washer on each side of shaft. 2. Position header sensor under expanded metal walkway in front of engine compartment as shown in Figure 7 such that: a. Threaded arm is aligned with right side of feeder house. b. Sensor is as far back as it will go under walkway. Figure 7. Header sensor installed 3. Place clamp plate over sensor on top of expanded metal walkway.. Install (2) 5/16 x 1-1/2 in. cap screws through clamp plate and center row of holes in top of sensor frame. 12 December 25 Rev C

Ag Leader Technology Combine Installation JD 33//66/77; 2 5. Verify arm alignment and tighten cap screws to secure sensor to walkway. IMPORTANT: Do not apply excessive torque. Sensor frame may deform and prevent proper operation. Tighten nuts just enough to firmly hold sensor in place. Verify arm pivots smoothly and always returns to spring centered position. 6. Remove nut from 5/16-in. cap screw located under right end of feeder house access door. 7. Install S-hook with anchor spring on screw and replace nut. 8. Position S-hook on threaded arm near end of arm and tighten nuts. 9. Connect extension spring to S-hook on arm assembly and S-hook on feeder house. Pinch hooks closed so spring cannot come loose. 1. Hold pivot shaft in spring centered position with a wrench across flats of shaft. Bend threaded arm near pivot shaft until spring has tension. Do this with header fully raised. 11. Route header sensor cable to area under cab by tying it to parking brake cable that is routed just behind walkway. 12. Connect header sensor cable to mating connector of distribution cable. Combine Installation JD 33//66/77; 2 Ag Leader Technology Installing Elevator Deflector (66/77 only) Parts required for procedure: (1) Stainless steel deflector (1) Deflector mounting bar (1) Drill template (1) Punch (1) Drill bit 13/32 in. (1) Square file (2) Carriage bolt 5/16 x 2 in. (2) Lock washer 5/16 in. (2) Lock nut 5/16 in. (1) Alcohol swab packet (1) Decal Do Not Adjust, Use Lower Adjuster! NOTE: On 66 & 77 models, the corner radius of the elevator head does not match the path of the paddle tips as they rotate about the top sprocket. The provided elevator deflector serves to smooth the flow of grain through the elevator head. In addition, it will likely reduce wear and prolong the life of the elevator head. Step-by-Step Procedure 1. Disconnect belt that drives clean grain elevator countershaft from separator secondary countershaft. Use a crowbar to pull spring-loaded elevator countershaft down until belt that drives it can be removed. 2. Open bottom access door of elevator and turn elevator conveyor chain until connector links or offset links are at bottom of elevator. 3. Adjust top shaft adjuster (2 screws at top of elevator on early machines, rod on back of elevator on late models) to fully lower top shaft.. Remove top door and 5/16 in. cap screw with wing nut from top of elevator. NOTE: If holes that match template are already present on elevator, skip steps 5 thru 7. 5. Use hole from top door latch in top of elevator to install drill template with (1) 5/16 in. cap screw. Ensure template is straight and tighten nut very tight to keep template from moving. 6. Center punch elevator housing at center of (2) square holes in template and drill with 11/32 in. drill bit. 7. File holes square to match holes of template. 1 December 25 Rev C

Side view of deflector installed 9. Install (2) 5/16 x 2 in. carriage bolts up from inside elevator. 1. Install lock washers and lock nuts on top of elevator just tight enough to bring deflector up against mounting bar. 11. Push deflector plate back so it is tight against back wall of elevator as shown in Figure 8. Fully tighten nuts. 12. Position a paddle directly above sprocket as shown in Figure 8. 13. Re-adjust top shaft of elevator so clearance between tip of paddle and bottom surface of deflector plate is 3/8 to 1/2 in. Ensure top shaft is raised evenly on both sides. It may be necessary to disconnect chain to adjust shaft. IMPORTANT: Failure to do this may result in poor accuracy. Top shaft should not be adjusted again after completing installation 1. Install Do not Adjust! Use Lower Adjuster decal on back of clean grain elevator housing by top shaft adjuster on late models, or at top of elevator on early models (clean housing of dirt and oil so the decal will adhere properly). With cross auger shaft and sprocket suspended on conveyor chain, tighten () bolts of lower adjuster. Conveyor chain is adequately tight when chain cannot be pulled away from sprocket. For 66, 77 models Position spacer block on side of clean-grain elevator as high as possible and forward as far as center divider of elevator will allow. b. For 33,, 2 models Position spacer block as high as possible and forward on elevator as far as extension bracket will allow.. Carefully trace around inlet and outlet holes using a permanent marker. Use provided 9/32 in. drill bit to mark locations for (5) mounting holes. See Figure 15. For narrow elevators mark (3) remaining holes of spacer block on side of elevator and (2) holes of extension bracket on back of elevator. 5. Extend opening of inlet hole to 8 in. so outline of cutouts on elevator matches cavity on back of spacer as shown in Figure 15. IMPORTANT: Extending dimensions of inlet hole is critical for operation of EMU. If dimensions are not extended, moisture may be inaccurate due to insufficient grain passing by sensor. 6. Drill 1/2 in. holes in all corners of inlet and outlet holes. Drill (5) 9/32 in. holes for mounting EMU to elevator. 2 December 25 Rev C

File edges of holes to remove burrs or sharp edges that may wear chain paddles or prevent clean mounting of EMU. 9. Install mounting screws as follows: a. For 66, 77 models Install external tooth lock washers on (5) 1/ x 1-3/ in. pan head screws and insert into mounting holes from inside elevator. Install hex nuts to keep screws in place. See Figure 16. b. For 33,, 2 models Install external tooth lock washers on (3) 1/ x 1-3/ in. pan head screws and insert into mounting holes on side of elevator. Install hex nuts to keep screws in place. Install extension bracket to back edge of elevator using (2) button head screws and lock nuts. 1. Mount spacer block to elevator as shown in Figure 17. 11. Secure EMU housing on top of spacer block with (5) 1/ in. lock nuts. For 33,, 2 models, (2) 1/ x 1-3/ in. pan head screws must be installed through extension bracket before nuts can be installed. 12. Remove (1) sheet metal screw that attaches aluminum plate to plastic housing of moisture sensor. Install ground terminal strap of moisture sensor on screw as shown in Figure 18. Install moisture sensor to EMU housing by engaging tab on bottom of moisture sensor holder with tab on side of main housing, tilting sensor upward to insert sensor blade into grain cavity, and securing holder with wing nut provided. 6. Route moisture sensor cable to mating connector of distribution cable. 7. Install and route EMU power cable to battery. Ag Leader Technology Combine Installation JD 33//66/77; 2 Operational Checkout for Refer to the Display Items section in the Operation Section for instructions on how to display different items on the screen. Step-by-Step Procedure 1. Start engine. 2. Turn monitor power switch ON and verify that monitor turns on properly. A field and load should be displayed at top of screen. 3. Display Elevator Speed on screen. a. Verify elevator RPM stays at zero with separator and header OFF. b. Engage separator and verify monitor measures elevator RPM. It should be about RPM at full engine speed. NOTE: On some combine models, header must be engaged to receive elevator speed signal. If no elevator speed, engage header drive.. Display Ground Speed on screen. a. Ground speed should register zero with combine at rest. b. Move combine slowly. Monitor should register MPH value at low speeds (below 1 MPH). c. Engage separator with combine at rest and verify monitor reads. MPH. 5. Display Head Height on screen. a. Raise and lower header. Header height value should increase and decrease respectively. 6. Display Temp on screen and verify there is a temperature reading. The temperature may be off slightly because it has not been calibrated.
