Appalachian Power Virginia C&I Program Energy efficiency program available to non-residential customers in Virginia Offers financial incentives of 5 per kwh saved for qualifying energy efficiency projects on or before 12/31/2018 Helps businesses offset the costs of making cost-effective improvements: Better ROI Faster payback Lower utility bills for years to come
C&I Program Rules Contingent on project review and acceptance of savings No cost to participate Submit a completed application within 60 days of installation or reserve funds for up to 90 days prior to expected completion date Rebate check paid within 4-6 weeks of final application s verification and approval The limit per account is $150,000 per program year. The rebate amount may not exceed 50% of project total costs.

AEP Appalachian Power customers that are not eligible to participate: Customers with a peak demand of more than 10MW Customers served under the Public Authority and Commonwealth of Virginia tariffs Residential Customers

Eligible Projects Eligible projects involve replacing existing equipment to high energy efficiency models: Lighting systems equipment and controls Installation of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) on hot or cold water pumps (HVAC applications) Rebate charts are available
Lighting Rebates kwh savings depend on business sector type and lighting replacement. The more efficient the greater the rebate. Hours per year depends on building type, interior or exterior Example of lighting projects: Existing linear fluorescent fixture retrofits T12 or T8 to LED HID lamp replacements Metal Halide to LED
Retrofit Examples Existing 2 x4 Troffer retrofit with a 38W LED Kit in an office = $10 rebate per fixture Existing 8, 2-lamp High Output linear fixture in a large unconditioned shop, retrofit with a 70W LED kit and occupancy sensor = $22 rebate Retrofit existing 4, 2-lamp linear fixture in a grocery store with a 40W LED kit = $8.50 rebate
HID Lamp Replacements: Replace existing 1000W Metal Halide parking lot lamp with a new 280W LED fixture = $151 rebate Replace a 400W Metal Halide high bay fixture in an industrial warehouse with a new 160W LED high bay = $60 rebate Replace a 320W Metal Halide gas canopy fixture to a new 82W LED fixture = $54 rebate Replace a 400W metal halide fixture in a commercial shop with a T5 fluorescent high bay fixture and occupancy sensor = $64 rebate
VFD Rebates Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) on cold and hot water pumps: A new VFD installed on new or existing equipment, but cannot be a replacement VFD. Mounted on chilled or hot water systems replacing a primary pump in a single or duplex configuration. Secondary or back-up configurations do not qualify. Limited to motors of 200 HP or less. Pre-inspected by program staff for any applications involving over 100 HP (on one or multiple motors). For example:
