Remove the seats, engine service panel, shift knob, center console, driver s side rear fender, bed and air box cap. Note: Do not remove air filter element. 2. Install the fan box assembly onto the driver s side diagonal bed frame rail with the white fan sitting on top and metal portion underneath the diagonal frame rail. (See Illustration #1) Align the bottom of the fan box with the inside edge of the frame rail and as far forward as possible. Screw into place on the bottom of the diagonal frame rail using (3) supplied self-tapping screws. Clean or replace air filter element and re-install air box cap. 3. Models with Triangle bed heat shield: Install the stock bolts through the front bed mount rail and stock heat shield. On the front bed mount rail, measure 6 1/2 from the inside of the raised portion on driver s side toward the center of the RZR and mark. Measure 1 1/4 from this mark toward the rear of the RZR and mark. (See Illustration #2) Drill out this location using 1 hole saw. Center temperature switch bracket over hole and install on the rear side of the front bed mount rail using (2) supplied self-tapping screws. 3. Models with Square bed heat shield: On the front bed mount rail, measure 6 1/2 from the inside of the raised portion on driver s side toward the center of the RZR and mark. (See Illustration #2) Center temperature switch bracket on this mark and install on the rear side using (2) supplied self-tapping screws. Illustration #3 4. On the rear of the center console, measure 3/4 down from the top and center and mark. Then drill with a 13/16 hole for the on/off switch. (See Illustration #3) 5. Install wire harness, starting with the 3 wire connector through the hole in the center console to the on/ off switch. Black wire to brass colored plug (should go towards the bottom). Next, find the red wire with the battery connectors, install the red wire with shrink wrap to the top of the switch. The remaining red with the black shrink wrap wire goes in the center of the switch. Next install the switch into the center console with the 0 on top. (See Illustration #3) Set the console back into place with the battery wires going to the battery box. Note: Do Not connect the battery at this time! 6. Run the wires under the seat support bar and up to the fan box. Route the wires away from moving parts and zip tie into place. Connect harness to fan and route the wires going to the temperature switch between the fan box and rear side of front bed mount rail. (See Illustration #4) Connect wires to temperature switch. Illustration #4 Illustration #5 7. Connect the wiring harness to the battery by connecting the red wire to the positive terminal, and the black wire to the negative terminal on the battery. Install fuse into wiring harness. 8. Check operation of your fan by turning on the master switch, then turning it off again. If the light turns on and turns off with the operation of the switch, it is wired correctly. If the light turns on and stays on, you have the polarity of the red wires on the switch backwards. Once the polarity is verified, use a heat gun on the temperature switch until the fan comes on (this will typically take 20 to 30 seconds). The fan should automatically shut back off once the temperature drops. 9. Cut out the supplied template and align it with the top and rearward body lines of the driver s side rear fender. (See Illustration #5) Mark hole in template onto fender. Cut out the inside of the mark with a rotary tool using a multi-purpose bit or an oscillating multi-tool. 10. Install the air horn onto the fan assembly with the air horn angled up. (See Illustration #6) Re-mount rear fender to the rocker panel and rear plastic bumper. Align the bottom inside and rear inside of the air horn with the hole cut in the fender. Mark through the top air horn mount holes onto the inside of the rear fender. Remove 2
rear fender and air horn from RZR. Place on a flat surface and mark the lower air horn mount holes on the back of the fender using the top marks as a guide. Using a 3/16 bit, drill out the four holes. Re-install rear fender on RZR with air horn over fan. Illustration #6 11. Cut out the intake grate template, line it up with the holes drilled in step #10 and tape it to the rear fender. (See Illustration #7) Trim the fender back until none of the rear fender plastic can be seen through the template. Remove the template and re-install the rear fender on the RZR with the air horn over the fan. Once this is achieved, use (4) supplied plastic rivets to attach the intake grate and air horn to the rear fender. 12. Re-install bed, engine service panel,center console and seats. Illustration #7 This kit is designed to be turned on for the entire time while you re riding. It should also be left on when you stop for breaks to help with heat build up under the bed. Once you have finished your ride, let the fan cool the engine compartment, and once the system shuts off the fan you can turn off the master switch. This kit is not recommended to be used when extreme mud bogging or when in deep water. The inlet grate and fan box will need to be carefully cleaned periodically. If they are dusty compressed air can be used. If compressed air isn t enough, soap and water can be used. Illustration shown before trimming plastic in step 11.
