6 TrakStar Overview MORNINGSTAR S TRAKSTAR MPPT TECHNOLOGY The Best-in-Class MPPT Technology Morningstar s innovative TrakStar Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) Technology is an advanced control algorithm that maximizes the energy harvest from the solar array into the battery under all operating conditions. This technology innovation is used in Morningstar s SunSaver MPPT and TriStar MPPT controllers and has resulted in both becoming the world-leading MPPT solar controllers. Morningstar s TrakStar MPPT Technology With Morningstar s TrakStar Technology, fast changing maximum power points are quickly tracked during shading conditions or when using mixed module arrays. When power levels change significantly, Morningstar s MPPT controllers are able to quickly respond to find the true maximum power point and avoid getting stuck on a local maximum. The EIA-485/RS-232 Adapter can be used in conjunction with the PC MeterBus Adapter to enable these devices to talk over a 485 network. 5.
