In order to guarantee valve function upon delivery the valves are pressure tested with water according to EN 12266-1:2003. In opened position the valves are controlled with pressure equivalent to 1,5 times maximum allowed working pressure and seat tightness test, i.e. closed valve, is performed with differential pressure equivalent to 1,1 maximum allowed differential pressure. Product range optimized through decades Our product range consists of 20 different models available in sizes ranging from DN 50 up to DN 1600. Our standard range consist of knife gate valves in stainless steel, cast iron or nodular iron, but we are also able to supply valves in a range of high alloy materials such as Duplex, Hastelloy, SMO and Titanium. All the valves are modular designed and each can be customized with specific materials, actuators and accessories, and this also makes it easy to uphold flexibility and firstrate operation year after year. In the processing of for example iron ore the process equipment as valves are facing the toughest requirements. Our SLV, SLF and SLH are suitable for demanding slurry and other abrasive fluids, and MV and WB are valves used in applications with water, sludge and light slurry. The TwinPack consists of a silicone rubber core surrounded by graphite impregnated and diagonally braided PTFE and aramide fibres. The rubber core gives a flexible and elastic packing while the aramide fibres, which are wounded into the corners, maintain the braid s original cross section and increases the wear resistance.

Reliable shut-off for slurry and abrasive applications Stafsjö s knife gate valves SLV, SLF and the high pressure version SLH are all suitable for the most demanding slurry, where operation reliability and low life cycle cost are emphasized. The unique seat design and the full bore with minimal cavity, makes it possible for the valves to perform for extended periods on the most difficult abrasive fluids. Stafsjö s slurry valves SLV, SLF and SLH comes as standard in nodular iron with integrated purge ports. For very corrosive applications, we are also able to manufacture them in stainless steel. They are equipped with hard chromed gates in stainless steel in order to maximize function and service life. The solid top works can be customized and supplied with many types of actuators and accessories. These valve types are always supplied ready to be locked in either opened or closed position with a locking pin and they are also prepared to be equipped with a bottom cover. The SLV is available in sizes from DN 50 up to DN 800 as standard, while the SLF and SLH are available in sizes from DN 80 up to DN 400. Larger sizes of any type can be supplied on request. Optimal valve design for slurry Minimal cavity and maximal flow capacity is achieved with full bore and the unique seat design. The seats can be supplied in EPDM, Viton and natural rubber, and flange gaskets are not needed since they are integrated with the seats. Maximized service life The bevel edge on the gate, the machined gate support in the valve body and the suspension of the seats minimizes wear on the seats during operation, thus maximizing the valves service life. Reinforcement rings embedded in seats enshape and strength during sure position, valve operation. Customized a standard feature Our slurry valves are modular designed and they can easily be customized and supplied with specific seat material, alloy on the gate, actuator type and accessories. A modular design also means simple on-site maintenance.

Sealing principle The seat for SLV, SLF and SLH are are developed for long-life service with slurry and other abrasive fluids. The seats and its material composition together with embedded reinforcement rings guarantee safe and reliable shut-off during tough operating conditions. The gland box, which seals around the gate where it exit the valve body, is as standard supplied with three layers of our TwinPack TM and a box bottom scraper in order to give firstrate sealing capacity. Opened valve The seats are flexible in the axial way. When the valve is fully opened the seats are expanded and seals towards each other, thus forming a tight extension of the pipe line where only the seats are exposed to the media. The valve body and gate are not exposed to the media in this position. Minimal seat cavity prevent accumulation of media in the bore. Closed valve When the valve closes the two seats are displaced axially forming a seal with the gate until it forms a complete closure of the bore to a 100% tight valve in either pressure direction. Any residues can be evacuated either through the bottom of the valve or through the purge ports when the bottom cover is mounted.

It is a full bore valve with minimal seat cavity for maximum flow capacity. SLV s seats give it its unique abilities to perform for extended periods on the most difficult abrasive fluids; they are flexible in an axial way. When the valve is fully opened the seats seal towards each other, protecting internal parts and the gate from the fluid. When the valve closes the two seats are displaced axially forming a seal with the gate until it forms a complete closure of the bore from both directions. The seats also form a sealing face on the valve flanges saving the need for gaskets while reinforcing rings are embedded in them to ensure position, shape and strength for long life. The SLV valve is a modular design consisting of an epoxy coated one piece valve body in nodular iron. The valve can also be supplied with a bottom cover and then it is recommended to evacuate any residues by flushing through the bottom ports of the valve body. Knife gate valve SLF Stafsjö s knife gate valve SLF is a double flanged full bore valve with a unique seat design that makes it particularly suitable for the most demanding services with slurry and other abrasive media. The SLF is a bi-directional valve that gives a tight shut-off, independent of pressure direction. The SLF has an epoxy coated fully flanged valve body in nodular iron with integrated purge ports as standard, which can be used if the valve is supplied with a bottom cover. The valve has seats with integrated flange sealings, saving the need for gaskets, which are flexible in the axial way. This means that they seals towards each other in the bore when the valve is in opened position, thus protecting internal parts and the gate from the abrasive media. Upon closure, the seats are displaced axially, forming a seal with the gate until it forms a complete closure of the bore and gives a bi-directional tight shut-off. The gate is always supplied in hard chromed stainless steel for increased wear resistance and extended service life. The gland box, which seals around the gate where it exit the valve body, is as standard supplied with three layers of our TwinPack TM and a box bottom scraper in order to give first-rate sealing capacity. The top works consists of aluminum beams and stainless steel tie rods, which gives good corrosion resistance and excellent stability at operation. The top is always supplied ready to be locked in either opened or closed position with a locking pin. In our standard collection of actuators and accessories there are several types to choose from. The SLF valve is designed, manufactured, inspected and tested according to the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED 97/ 23/EC) category I and II module A1. The valve is CE-marked when applicable. Other slurry valves besides the SLF, is the fully lugged SLV available up to DN 800 as standard and the high pressure version, SLH, for pressures up to 50 bar. Optimal valve design for the most demanding slurry Maximal flow capacity is achieved with full bore with minimal cavity and the unique seat design. In opened position the seats seals towards each other in the bore, thus forming a tight extension of the pipe line where only the seats are exposed to the media, and no metall parts. It is a full bore valve with minimal seat cavity for maximum flow capacity. SLH-HP is a modular design consisting of an epoxy coated two piece valve body in nodular iron or carbon steel. SLH-HP s unique seat construction guarantees excellent operation together with abrasive media and Stafsjö s unique box packing, Twin- Pack, and a bottom scraper gives a tight sealing and assures that no media reaches surrounding environment. SLH-HP s seats give it its unique abilities to perform for extended periods on the most difficult abrasive fluids; they are flexible in an axial way. When the valve is fully open the gate is completely clear of the seat/lining allowing it to form a continual liner from inlet to outlet protecting the internal parts from the fluid. When the valve closes the gate forces its way between the two seats. They are displaced axially forming a seal with the gate until it forms a complete closure of the flow port from both directions and isolating the body cavity from the fluid. The seats also form a sealing face on the valve flanges saving the need for gaskets while reinforcing rings are embedded in them to ensure position, shape and strength for long life. Optional accessories for the SLH-HP are locking pin and stem protection. For security the locking pin can be mounted in open or closed position through the beams and the gate. Stafsjö s knife gate valve SLH-HP is designed, manufactured, inspected and tested according to the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED 97/23/EC) category II module A1. The valve is equipped with a through-going gate for secure shut-off of concentrated and static media. This shut-off performance, along with its flow characteristics, makes it suitable for severe operating conditions with media as pulp (> 5%), liquor, reject, powder and ash. HG is supplied as standard with a valve body in stainless steel or epoxy coated cast iron, which has integrated purge ports from DN 100. To be able to cope with bi-directional pressures, the HG has the retainer ring system on both body halves. The valve is equipped with a gate in stainless steel, but Duplex material and hard chromed surface are options to increase the wear resistance. The gland boxes are equipped with Stafsjö s box packing TwinPack, to secure that no media reaches surrounding environment. The gland boxes can also be supplied with a box bottom scraper or with double gland for the most demanding applications. The top works consists of aluminium beams and stainless steel tie rods, which gives good corrosion resistance and a stable operation. The valve is modular designed and can easily be customized to specific processes requirements. There are several actuator types and accessories to choose from in our standard collection. The HG valve is designed, manufactured, inspected and tested according to the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED 97/ 23/EC) category I and II module A1. The valve is CE marked when it is applicable. The HG valve is one out of four valves in Stafsjö s procuct range with through-going gate. The HP is a high pressure version of HG while the HL is a slim line version. HPT is a high pressure version entirely made in Titanium. Reliable shut-off and bi-directional sealing The retainer ring system on both sides of the gate makes it independent of flow direction. The through-going gate assures a reliable shut-off of highly concentrated and static media. A bore with excellent flow characteristics In open position, the HG valve s bore has almost no cavity at all, making the flow characteristics really excellent. In this position the PTFE seats are protected by the retainer rings and the gate. Solid design for preserved sealing capacity The gate is supported all the way from open to close position which, together with a proper dimensioned top works, makes the shut-off reliable and repeatable.

MV DN 50 - DN 1600 This is an allround valve used within many fields of applications since it is reliable and easy to customize. It is suitable for water, sludge and light slurry among many other media. MV is uni-directional, but in some sizes it is also able to cope with certain differential pressure in reversed pressure direction. The valve is modular designed and supplied with the retainer ring system, which makes it easy to customize and to maintain. The gate has a bevel edge that effectively cuts through different media and the inner cavity of the valve body facilitate this process. In closed position the gate is pushed onto the seat and gives a tight and reliable sealing. The valve is supplied in either stainless steel or nodular iron, but it also available in a range of high alloy materials such as Duplex, Hastelloy, SMO and Titanium. The top works consist of aluminum beams and stainless steel tie rods, which gives good corrosion resistance and stability at operation. Proven and reliable shut-off The MV valve is the outcome of several decades of experiences. The design of gate and valve body, especially the bore design, gives the valve its ability to securely and effectively shut-off almost any flow. Modular and solid top works A solid top works ensures stabillity and gate alignment during operation and low operation force is achieved with minimal friction. The modular design offers flexibility and makes it easy to supply and to change actuator and/or accessories. Excellent adaptability The retainer ring system offers several seat materials and makes any maintenance smooth and cost-efficient. The valve can also be customized with valve material according to specific process conditions, for example in SMO254.

WB DN 50 - DN 1600 This valve type is bi-directional and can therefore be installed into a pipe system independent of pressure direction and integrated flange gaskets makes it easy to install. The WB14 version has a fully lugged valve body and this also allows end-of-pipe installations. The WB valve has a full bore design with no cavity which gives excellent flow characteristics, and this makes it suitable for fluids such as water, sludge and light slurry. The WB has a robust epoxy coated valve body in nodular iron or cast iron. It is equipped with a gate in stainless steel that has a polished edge in order to minimize friction and to lower required operation force. The sealing profile is available in Nitrile or EPDM. The gland box is equipped with Stafsjö s box packing, TwinPack, which gives a tight sealing and assures that no media reaches surrounding environment. A box bottom scraper, which is standard from DN 200, prolongs the box packing braids life length. The valve is modular designed and it can easily be supplied with different types of actuators and accessories. The WB valve is available in several versions. Most common is the semi lugged version WB and WB11 which are available from DN 50 up to DN 1600. WB14 is supplied with a fully lugged valve body. Reliable bi-directional sealing The gate edge, which is polished in order to minimize friction and to lower required operation force, faces the sealing profile and secures that the valve is tight in both pressure directions. Excellent flow characteristics A straight bore, with a sealing profile in level with bore, gives minimal pressure drop since the media can pass it practically unnoticed. First-rate sealing capacity A gland box supplied with three layers of our TwinPack TM, which is specially developed and made for Stafsjö s valves, secures that no media reaches surrounding environment.
