In emergency situations, they guarantee that the fire compartments are separated reliably, thus saving lives. Door closers from Sapa Building System work purely mechanically with hydraulically damped, stepped gear spring force, which ensures correct functioning under all conditions. The special gearing geometry guarantees easy opening while at the same time producing sufficient closing power to overcome the lock resistance. The Sapa Building System door closer portfolio reflects the complete spectrum of practical demands of modern architecture no matter whether these are defined for aesthetic or functional reasons. They extend from the functional standard of the articulated arm closers through minimalized, aesthetic slide rail closers and coordinator systems to virtually invisible closing solutions integrated into the door leaf. DOOR CLOSERS - GOOD TO KNOW Good to know CLOSING SPEED Door closing speed is the time frame from the start of the door closing to a couple of inches before the door hits its latch point. The last few inches of closing are controlled via the latch speed valve. LATCHING SPEED The Latch Zone is the last few inches before the door hits its latch point. This feature increases the closing speed and thus the safe closing of the door, for example to overcome door seals, door locks and high air pressure. HOLD OPEN DEVICE OR HOLD OPEN ARM Keep the door open These optional devices, when fitted with the door closer, enable the door to remain open at a preset angle until it is manually closed. Be aware of fire regulations when fitting these devices. DELAYED ACTION To slow closing speed This feature permits the door to remain open for a longer period of time before closing at an adjustable speed. This will allow for slow closing, giving more time for safer passing of people and transports. Especially usable for the elderly, nursing homes and hospitals. BACK CHECK Prevents the wind to catch the door and throw it open. The backcheck feature reduces the opening speed and avoids the slamming of a door which has been flung open or caught by a gust of wind. This effectively reduces the danger of the door and adjacent wall being damaged. Our door closer version are suitable for use with fire and smoke protection doors - and tested in line with EN 1154 A. All products tested in accordance with valid European directives have the CE mark applied to them. Door closers have different strengths to cater for the size and weight variation of doors. The bigger and heavier the door, the greater the force required to close it. This force is designated by assigning the closer with a number value between 1 and 7 where the higher the number indicates a larger capacity of closer. The following chart shows the test door mass and size for the seven identified grades under the EN 1154 classification. Seven test door mass grades and related door closer power sizes are identified according to table 1 of this standard. Where a door closer provides a range of power sizes both the minimum and the maximum sizes shall be identified. Air pressure on the door from wind is also a consideration which could lead to a higher power size than needed due to the actual door weight and dimensions. This guarantees time saving, secure and simple installation. The mounting plates for certain models (DCG800 & DCG0) are completely concealed by the closer body; thus making them invisible and improving aesthetics. SAVES RESOURCES Our door closers are up to 1,000 grammes lighter than comparable solutions. Their intelligent construction and carefully planned use of materials help considerably to save resources - without compromising functionality, safety, security or quality. THE NEW DOOR CLOSER GENERATION: A meticulously well-conceived design consisting of a stainless steel cover and aluminium body. Concealed mounting plates, adjusting elements protected against vandalism, colour-matched materials and the variable combination of all slide rail door closers with closing sequence regulator systems are the distinguishing features of this new generation of door closer models. COMBINATION OF ELEGANT MATERIALS Elegant materials are standard: the stainless steel cover and aluminium body units are perfectly matched with one another - resulting in an architectural harmony. STAINLESS STEEL COVER A stainless steel cover envelops the aluminium body of the closer. The cover conceals all of the adjusting elements and cannot be removed without tools, thus securing the closer against unauthorized access. TWO UNITS FOR THE ENTIRE BUILDING The closer portfolio enables to cover all door dimensions with only two basic closer units. In addition to this, end-mounted valve technology permits the mounting of the same closer on the hinge and hingeopposite side (DCG0). UNIFORM FINISHING EDGE AND COLOUR DESIGN The mounted slide rail and door closer are flush when the door is closed. The colours of all materials are perfectly matched - right down to the end caps of the slide rail. In this way, door closers can be integrated harmoniously into every design context. VALVE TECHNOLOGY The valve technology offers a wide and precisely adjustable setting range. The closing speed and latching speed are regulated via the valve as a standard feature. DOOR RETAINER & CLOSING SEQUENCE COORDINATOR SYSTEMS Door retainer systems are highly complex systems which were developed to separate fire and smoke compartments mechanically. In the event of fire, a predefined, closing process is triggered. A finely choreographed closing sequence is prescribed for double leaf doors: the fixed (passive) leaf has to close first, then the active leaf. A play of forces developed to save human lives. The DCI900 is one of the most compact door closers on the market compact enough for installation in doors with a leaf thickness of only mm. This means that the closer can be integrated virtually invisibly before the door even leaves the workshop. Tested for safety according to EN 1154 A for fire and smoke protection doors. Available in two force models: Size EN 1-4 to 1100 mm Size EN 2-5 to 1250 mm DCI900 The strongly decreasing opening moment allows an easier opening of the door.
