GKN Stromag Periflex VN dic coupling The GKN Stromag Periflex dic coupling concept > The GKN Stromag Periflex VN coupling feature a flexible element with linear tiffne. Thee coupling are particularly uitable for dieel engine drive. The torque capacity range from 160 to 63,000 Nm. The engine flywheel interface i deigned to comply with SAE J6 tandard and i available to uit SAE 6.5 inch through SAE 24 inch flywheel, while the larget ize are available for metric flywheel. The GKN Stromag Periflex VN coupling enable a fat and imple to the engine including deign for blind-fit aembly with cloe-coupled tranmiion, radial removal of the rubber element for eae of intallation, and fail-afe/emergency drive option for ingle engine veel. Model are alo available for the of two haft. The GKN Stromag Periflex VN coupling have an axial plug-in for eay intallation and removal of the complete coupling a well a the flexible element. The flexible element can be moved axially in the flywheel connecting ring when no torque i applied, reulting in low axial reaction force. Each GKN Stromag Periflex VN ize ha a range of elatomer compound and torional tiffnee available, thu allowing for precie tuning of drive uceptible to torional vibration. Information for the deign engineer > The GKN Stromag Periflex VN coupling hub are made of teel or ductile cat iron. The ring i made of aluminum. The dic tire contain a teel or ductile cat iron L-ection ring with a vulcanied elatomer lining. The natural rubber (NR) deign can be ued acro a temperature range of 50 C to +80 C. Deign made of temperature-reitant material (ECO) enable a temperature range of -40 C to +1 C. In addition, ECO i ozone and oil reitant. Damping activity may reult in the flexible element reaching higher than ambient temperature. Thi mut be conidered when the coupling i to be covered with a guard, or adequate ventilation and heat diipation mut be provided. The GKN Stromag Periflex VN coupling can be upplied with acceptance according to EN 4 a pecified in the claification ocietie rule. The dic tire (2) i ecured to the engine with bolt (4) on the hub (3). The drive and output ide are moved together to the precribed ditance (if neceary blind intallation). In the proce, the tire teeth mut engage over the entire length of the ring teeth. The maximum permiible diplacement hould be taken from the dimenion and rating table. Delivery of the tandard verion include: 1 = ring 2 = dic tire 3 = hub 4 = bolt Storage of flexible rubber element When tored appropriately, flexible rubber element retain their propertie over everal year without any alteration. It i eential that the tored part are protected againt oxygen, ozone, light, heat, moiture and olvent. Solvent, fuel, lubricant, chemical, acid, diinfectant and the like may not be kept in the ame torage area. The torage temperature hould be no lower than + C and no higher than + C. All UV light ource are harmful and mut be avoided. Equipment that generate ozone, e.g. light ource and electric motor, mut be kept away from the torage location.
