CHICKAMAUGA LOCK REPLACEMENT 8 USACE IWTF Priority #4 Estimated Completion Date: 2024 (26% complete) Total Project Cost Estimate: $760M ($258.7M received to date) Continued degradation of the existing lock necessitates the replacement lock s construction. Most active lock on the Tennessee River for recreational vessels (3,085 vessel lockages in 2016). Est commercial transit time reduction by 80%. Size: 110 ft x 600 ft (vs current 60 ft x 360 ft) Capacity: Will pass 9 barges per lockage (vs current 1 barge).

FUTURE FUNDING PROSPECTS FOR KENTUCKY AND CHICKAMAUGA LOCKS Conversations with Representatives and staff in DC week of 25 September Strong support for Chickamauga to receive additional funding (efficient funding amount in FY18 is $78M) Pleased with progress made on both project with available FY17 funds. 10 Kentucky and Chickamauga Locks: Inland Waterways Trust Fund priorities number 3 and 4, respectively Not Budget Eligible (total BCR s are below OMB s 2.5 threshold at 7%) Funded through Funding Pots in recent years Received their efficient funding requests in FY17 Inland Waterways Trust Fund: Continues to be a funding bottleneck. Revenues are not sufficient to fund four ongoing IWTF construction projects at their efficient funding levels. Both the House and Senate mark-ups for FY18 included significant funding amounts in the navigation funding pots
