2017 FORD RAPTOR FRONT BUMPER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS *PLEASE READ THROUGH THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE BEGINNING ANY PART OF THE INSTALLATION PROCESS* WEB INSTALL LINK: http://lodoffroad.com/assets/pdfs/rfb1701.pdf 1. 8mm Sockets: socket 13mm socket 15mm socket 18mm socket 3/4in socket Impact Driver Extension Ratchet Wrenches: 18mm wrench 3/4in wrench First, gather your tools. You will need crescent wrenches, sockets, a ratchet, and we also used an impact driver with extensions.
2. The stock skidplate can be removed before or after the front bumper. 3. The skidplate bolt locations are highlighted here (13mm + 15mm sockets)
4. Remove the plastic center insert. It is attached with trim clips. To remove it gently pull away from the vehicle. 5. Lay under the truck. On the inside of the bumper, on both sides, there is a brace that will need to be removed, the 8mm bolts are circled.
6. There will be a nut on the back near the mount as well Remove the front two nuts, repeat on both sides. 7. After you remove the three nuts on both sides, carefully remove the bumper from the car. 8. Remove the plastic towhook shroud on both driver and passenger sides by pulling.
9. Remove the towhook, there are two bolts underneath. To reach the nutsert you may have to reach into the front opening. 10. Remove the tab behind the tow hook as well, there is one bolt.
11. The mount has to be placed into position from slightly under the vehicle.! Tighten these before the other bolts, that will push the mount into place. 12. Like the stock mounts, make sure you attach these with two stock bolts (circled) and nuts on top, and also one provided lower bolt (box)
13. *IF NOT USING A WINCH, IF YES REFER TO BOTTOM OF PAGE* The diagram show the proper bolt attachment via a toothed washer. Attach only one into the truck mount first. 14. On the bumper insert the bolt into the bottom hole, facing towards the vehicle. STOP If you plan on running a winch, please see the section at the rear for proper placement procedures.
15. If you won t be using a winch, mark and cut off only the soft, flexible rubber section, so there is about an inch of rubber shroud left. 16. Attach your lights to the center panel and foglight bezels if you have them, then attach the panels to the car via the studs and nuts.
17. Line up the bolts and the mount holes and carefully place the bumper on the vehicle. Be careful to not scratch the body. Having a second person will help. Keep applying pressure on the bumper, otherwise you risk it falling off. Attach it to the mount bolts with the provided nuts 18. Look underneath the bumper, there are access holes (circled) on either side of the mount, so you can place a wrench on the bolt head, and a socket or other wrench on the nut.
19. 17. That s it! Once the bumper is on and the mount hardware is tightened, you re set to go!
WINCH INSTALLATION The following steps illustrate how to properly and safely install the winch plate and a winch, to be used with the Ford Raptor Bumper 1. Attach your winch to the winchplate. The winch should have four (4) mount holes. Use the bolts supplied with the winch. Tighten and torque these thoroughly, as they will be holding your winch in place during operation.
2. Trim the rubber shroud along the dotted line, so it is as close to flush with the surface it protrudes from. The rubber is harder towards the base, you will need to use a cutting wheel or grinder. 3. When finished the shroud should look like this. You can now fit a winch between the bumper and the truck.
4. For this step it is a good idea to have two people, as the winch is heavy. Insert the two upper bolts as shown, and you can rest the winch plate on top of them while you place the bumper over the winch plate. *BE CAREFUL, THE WINCHPLATE IS HEAVY AND CAN STILL FALL* 5. Next, place the bumper over the winch plate and then place nuts onto the studs from the previous step. When this is complete, you may return to STEP 15 in the install guide. Keep applying pressure on the bumper, otherwise you risk it falling off.
