The WBF bar magnet insert for the Wombat filter housing without filter element / without filter bag serves as a permanent magnet for the separation of metallic particles / splinters from fluids. Unpacking the bar magnet insert Unpacking the bar magnet insert When unpacking the unit, check it for damage in transit. Transporting the bar magnet insert Carry the bar magnet insert by hand or lifting device on the ring nut (T). Observe the valid IATA regulations when transporting magnetized materials by air freight. No magnetic fields may penetrate through the packaging. Install a shield before air transport. Disposing of packaging material Dispose of the packaging material in an environmentally friendly manner. Preparing the filter housing Preparing the filter housing To use the bar magnet insert, remove the guide plate as described in the following chapter. Removing the guide plate When installed, the guide plate guides the flow along the optimum route to the filter element/filter bag. The guide plate prevents the filter housing cover from closing when filter cartridges or a bar magnet are in use. NOTICE Guide plate mounted on the filter housing cover The bar magnet insert will be damaged Remove the guide plate before using the bar magnet insert. Preparing the filter housing Using the bar magnet insert The bar magnet insert can be mounted on the Wombat filter housing. NOTICE Loose small parts (screws, washers, nuts) Small parts can enter the hydraulic circuit. Preparing the filter housing Installing / removing the bar magnet insert WARNING Hydraulic system is under pressure Danger of bodily injury Depressurize the system before performing any work on it. 1x Allen wrench = 6 mm 1x Wrench = 30 mm Proceed as follows to install / remove the bar magnet insert: 1. Close the shut-off valves at the inlet (IN) and outlet (OUT). 2. Depressurize the filter housing. Remove the air bleed screw by turning it counterclockwise with a 6 mm Allen wrench. 3. Open the drain ball valve to empty the filter housing. Collect the escaping fluid in a suitable container and dispose of it in an environmentally friendly manner. Preparing the filter housing 4. Undo the 4 nuts (1) = 30 mm on the filter housing cover and unscrew them 15 mm. Fold the screws (2) down. 5. Open the filter housing cover. WBF /-T003 bar magnet insert en(us) Page 19 / 28

Preparing the filter housing 7. Remove the guide plate as described in the "Removing the guide plate" section on page 15. Only insert the cleaned bar magnet into the bar magnet holder in the filter bag. NOTICE Do not use a hammer, etc. 8. Check the O-rings and gasket for damage and replace if necessary. Preparing the filter housing 11. Fold the filter housing cover onto the filter housing. 12. (1) - Fold the four screws up (1). (2) - Tighten the four nuts = 30 mm on the filter housing cover with a tightening torque. 10 bar = 100 Nm 16 bar = 160 Nm To keep the screws operating smoothly, we recommend assembly paste. 13. Open the shut-off device on the inlet (IN) slowly in order to prevent pressure surges onto the filter, and fill the filter housing. Bleed the filter housing with the air bleed screw until operating fluid comes out. Close the shut-off device on the inlet (IN) as soon as fluid comes out of the air bleed screw. Preparing the filter housing 14. Tighten the air bleed screw by turning it clockwise = 6 mm. Tighten the air bleed screw with a torque of 20 Nm. Open the shut-off device at the inlet (IN). After dismantling the unit and separating the various materials, dispose of the unit in an environmentally friendly manner.
