Substantial civil penalties apply to violations of this law. Forest River motorized and towable products are contained in this section- CANADA: Pursuant to the Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Act, section 5 Companies who sell new non-complying vehicles may be in violation of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Substantial penalties apply to violations of this law. Forest River Office of Corporate Compliance ( OCC ) has decided that a safety defect, exists in certain 2018 through 2019 model year Rockwood Camping Trailers, FM1950, FM1950-W, FM1980, FM1980-W, FM2280, FM2280-W, FM2318G, FM2318G-W, and Flagstaff Camping Trailers, FS205, FS208, FS228, FS228D travel trailer recreational vehicles. Forest River is recalling the defect model(s) to ensure the safety of our future retail consumers and your dealership. Forest River apologizes for any inconvenience this action may cause your dealership; however, safety continued satisfaction and our commitment to building great products are of the utmost importance to Forest River. The identified VIN referenced in the attached document(s). Rockwood Camping Trailer: The designated Date range of production is January, 2018 through July, 2018. DEFECT/NONCOMPLIANCE: Under certain conditions, the inner-bearing may seize which could lead to tire lock-up, increased drag on the tow vehicle and smoke from the affected hub. IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL The Recall shall be considered the utmost priority to remedy the 2018 through 2019 model year Rockwood Camping Trailers, FM1950, FM1950-W, FM1980, FM1980-W, FM2280, FM2280-W, FM2318G, FM2318G-W, and Flagstaff Camping Trailers, FS205, FS208, FS228, FS228D travel trailer recreational vehicles in question. The retail consumer shall not be charged any amount of monies for remedy to their 2018 through 2019 model year Rockwood Camping Trailers, FM1950, FM1950-W, FM1980, FM1980-W, FM2280, FM2280-W, FM2318G, FM2318G-W, and Flagstaff Camping Trailers, FS205, FS208, FS228, FS228D travel trailer recreational vehicles listed under this Recall. If your dealership has already performed the remedy to 2018 through 2019 model year Rockwood Camping Trailers, FM1950, FM1950-W, FM1980, FM1980-W, FM2280, FM2280-W, FM2318G, FM2318G-W, and Flagstaff Camping Trailers, FS205, FS208, FS228, FS228Dtravel trailer recreational vehicles, your dealership is entitled to the reimbursement as stated above by filing a claim using the indicated repair code(s). If the remedy needs to be performed on an out of warranty 2018 through 2019 model year Rockwood Camping Trailers, FM1950, FM1950-W, FM1980, FM1980-W, FM2280, FM2280-W, FM2318G, FM2318G-W, and Flagstaff Camping Trailers, FS205, FS208, FS228, FS228D travel trailer recreational vehicles in which the VIN falls under as stated in the identified VIN listing, your dealership is entitled to the reimbursement as stated above by filing a claim using the indicated repair code(s). Notice: In no manner shall a Forest River Product Owner or Coachmen Product Owner be charged any fee(s) for scheduling, conduction or completion of the recall. Additionally, all dealership(s) that are Forest River and/or Coachmen dealership(s) are Federally Mandated to perform the recall once presented with this recall whether by the Owner or Dealership receipt of this letter, without denial of service to the Owner. Lastly, denial of a remedy for this recall is a Federal Violation punishable by law resulting substantial fines and/or civil penalties. TITLE: BEARING REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS AFFECTED SITE(s): P12/P61 DEXTER/FOREST RIVER DEPARTMENT(s): Quality Written By: Aldijana Custovic Approved By: Revision Date: 07/27/18 PURPOSE: To install correct inner bearing. MATERIALS: 1) Torque Wrench ½ drive, minimum 150 ft. lb. 2) Flat head screwdriver 3) Mallet 4) Seal removal tool 5) Seal driver or seal installation tool 6) Bearing LM67048 7) Seal Safety Note: Secure and raise the trailer according to the Forest River Maintenance/Repairs Manual. Do not jack the trailer up on the axle tube. 1) Support the trailer using jack stand on front and rear. Raise and support the trailer unit using the correct jacking point on the frame. 2) When the unit is off the ground, turn the wheel left and right to ensure free rotation of the tire. 3) Remove the wheel nuts with an impact gun or breaker bar with socket, and remove the tire and wheel. 4) Remove the grease cap using a socket, or a mallet and flat head screwdriver. 5) Remove the spindle nut retainer clip with a flat-head screw driver. Page 2 of 9

6) Loosen spindle nut by hand. If you are able to loosen the spindle nut by hand proceed to step 8. 7) If unable to loosen the spindle nut by hand proceed to remove the spindle nut by using a 1 ½ socket on a ratchet. Remove the spindle washer by hand. 8) Remove the hub-drum from the spindle by hand. Note: It may be helpful to use the cap to catch the bearings come of the spindle. Page 3 of 9

Inspect the spindle threads, bearing and nut for damage. If there is damage to any of these parts contact the Dexter Axle Service and Warranty Department at 574-295-7888. If there is not damage to the spindle threads, bearing and nut proceed to re-assemble the hub-drum onto the spindle. 9) Place the hub on a flat surface with the seal facing upward. 10) Pry the seal out of the hub with a seal removal tool or a screwdriver. DO NOT RE-USE THE SEAL. Page 4 of 9

11) Remove the bearing from the hub and replace it with a new bearing 12) Replace the bearing with LM67048 bearing. 13) Grease the bearing before placing it into the hub. Page 5 of 9

14) Install new seal into place using a seal driver or seal installation tool of proper size. It is important that any seal installation tool contact outer ring of the seal casing. If no seal driver is available, use a clean block of wood. It is critical that the seal be driven in evenly and straight. NEVER hammer directly on the seal. 15) Install the hub-drum onto spindle by hand. Install the outer bearing, spindle washer and spindle nut onto the spindle. Page 6 of 9

16) Install the spindle nut. 17) Torque the spindle nut with a torque wrench to: 50 ft. lb. while turning the hub on the spindle. This will seat and properly align the bearing cups. Page 7 of 9

18) Loosen the spindle nut and only finger tighten without turning the hub-drum. (This will prevent pre-load on the bearing). 19) Install the retainer clip. 20) Install the cap with a mallet to avoid surface damage to the cap. Page 8 of 9

21) Rotate hub-drum slowly forwards and backwards. The hub-drum assembly should turn freely and smoothly. 22) Remount the tire & wheel by tightening the wheel nuts with a torque wrench and socket per manufacturer specification. 23) Remove the jacks, lower the trailer to the ground, and torque the wheel fasteners. WHAT IS FOREST RIVER AND OUR DEALERSHIPS GOING TO DO? The remedy for this recalls remedies availability is included with this notification. Forest River has notified dealerships of this recall and have provided them with remedy instructions to replace the inner bearings, free of charge, with labor included. You may have the recall corrected at any Forest River dealership. However, it is preferable if you have your selling dealership perform the remedy. Forest River completely covers your cost for the remedy; you will not receive any bill of sale for anything covered under the above recall number. WHAT SHOULD YOU DO? Please contact your dealer without delay and request a service appointment to schedule the free remedy. The vehicle Owner is responsible for making arrangements to have the work completed. Please state you have been notified by Forest River of having a recall in process for your vehicle and provide the recall number for the dealership. It is also helpful to the dealership to have a copy of this letter when you take your vehicle in for the recall remedy. You may also visit www.forestriverinc.com for dealer locations. HOW LONG WILL THE REMEDY PROCESS TAKE? The estimated time of repair is 1.00 hours. However, the dealership may need to keep your vehicle or schedule an appointment with you for a later date to fit into their regular service schedule. WHAT IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY PAID FOR REPAIRS TO YOUR VEHICLE FOR THIS PARTICULAR CONDITION? If you have already paid for a repair that is within the scope of this defect under recall, you still need to have this recall inspected and/or performed to ensure the correct parts and procedures were utilized.
