Used as a ontrol valve Intended use This produt is only suitable for the purpose intended by the manufaturer, as desribed in the Desription of operation setion. All related produt douments must also be adhered to. Changing or onverting the produt is not admissible. Engineering and fitting notes Can be mounted in any position exept suspended. Penetration of the atuator by ondensate and dripping water, et. along the spindle must be avoided. When mounting the atuator, make sure that the plug is not twisted in the valve seat (limit stop), as this an dam the sealing surfae. If a split range of adjustment (split-range unit), more preise adjustment, faster adjustment and inreased air apaity or reversible diretion of operation is required, the atuator an be equipped with an XSP 31 or XSP 31 G positioner, see setion 79. To inrease the reliability of the valves, the system should omply with DIN/EN 14336 (heating systems in buildings). DIN/EN 14336 states, amongst other things, that the system has to be flushed through before being put into servie. Water quality as per VDI 2035. Additional details on the definitions of pressure differene p v : Maximum admissible pressure differene over the valve in eah stroke position, limited by noise level and erosion. This parameter haraterises the valve as a flow element with speifi hydrauli behaviour. Monitoring the avitation and erosion along with the assoiated noise inreases the servie life and the operational apaity. p max : Maximum admissible pressure differene over the valve at whih the atuator an reliably open and lose the valve. This takes aount of: Stati pressure and flow effets. This value ensures trouble-free stroke movement and losing of the valve. The value p v of the valve is never exeeded. p s : Maximum admissible pressure differene over the valve in the event of a malfuntion (e.g. power failure, exessive temperature or pressure, pipe break) at whih the atuator an lose the valve tightly and, if neessary, maintain the full operating pressure against atmospheri pressure. Beause this is a safety funtion with a rapid stroke movement, p s an be greater than p max or p v. The disruptive flow effets that arise here are quikly passed through and are of minor importane in this mode. For 3-way valves, the values only apply to the ontrol pass. p stat : Line pressure behind the valve. This essentially orresponds to the idle pressure when the pump is swithed off, for example aused by the fluid level in the system, inreased pressure due to pressure tanks, steam pressure, et.
