Tools and Additional Requirements Very clean work space, no animals or pets. (Clean room preferred). ESD safe work station with grounding strap. Bright work lamp (for visibility and dust inspection). #2 Philips Screwdriver / Bit for clutched power screwdriver (Unit disassembly). #1 Philips Screwdriver / Bit for clutched power screwdriver (Panel disassembly). Needle Nose Pliers (disconnect and reconnect LED PWB s / harnesses). #0-1 Standard Blade screwdriver (Assist with harnesses removal). Rubber Gloves. (powder less) 2
Time Study Unit disassembly = 20 minutes. Front glass panel and front cab removal = 10 minutes. Panel disassembly / separation = 10 minutes. Harness inspection = 5 minutes. LED swap test 5 minutes each. Can be up to 20 minutes for all 4 LED strips. (10 minute average) Install new LED assembly = 5 minutes. Re-assemble entire set = 40 minutes. Total process time = 1hour 40 minutes 3
Unit Disassembly Remove 1 machine screws. (red) Remove AC cord Cover. Disconnect AC cord from power unit. 4
Unit Disassembly Remove 20 machine screws (red). (Green) denotes long screw. Remove 5 plastic screws. (yellow) Lift off Back Cover. Support Cover Remove 3 machine screws from support cover. (orange) Remove (4) stand screws and lift set off stand. (not illustrated) 5
Unit Disassembly Remove 2 silver machine screws from stand cover (red). Remove 2 plastic screws from stand cover. (yellow) Lift off stand cover. Stand Cover 6
Unit Disassembly Disconnect and remove 2 FPC s that connect between the T-Con and LCD panel. See FPC detail on next slide. Remove FPC X2 Gently pull and guide the FPC through the ferrite holder. The FPC s should be free and ready for panel separation. 7
FPC Detail FPC Removal Swing lock up Lift FPC up and off connector. FPC Installation Insert FPC into connector and verify that the FPC is hooked into the connector before locking. Next, swing lock down. 8
Removing Front Glass Panel LCD Fixing Angle Remove the 4 LCD fixing angles. Remove 25 screws and remove front glass panel assembly. LCD Fixing Angle The LE810 uses the same procedure without the front glass panel. 9
Removing Front Glass Panel Remove RC/LED unit. Disconnect Key Unit. Remove ICON Unit. Remove Logo Unit. Key Unit PWB Logo PWB Remove all wiring harnesses from front cabinet. Power LED/RC PWB Center Icon PWB 10
Panel Disassembly Reinstall back cover with at least 1 screw in each corner. Reconnect AC cord. Using a helper, carefully lay unit on a table, resting on its back cover and exposing AC cord. Note: FPC s have been disconnected from T-CON unit Use caution and be sure that the set is resting on its back cover to avoid PWB damage. 11

Panel Separation Using a helper, carefully swing up and separate the LCD Glass from the panel unit. Lay panel flat on a table with inside facing down. Cover with clean foam material or blanket to avoid dust. Do not allow the panel to warp during separation since the panel may crack. 13
LED Wiring and Inspection Rt. and Lt. Side LED Assemblies on each side of set Top and Bottom LED Assemblies Check wiring harness for any breaks, rubbing or scraping around screw post. Replace harness if necessary. Most lamp error occur due to a faulty Side LED assembly. Check harness for damage around screw posts 14
LED Wiring and Inspection Rt. and Lt. Side LED Assemblies on each side of set Top and Bottom LED Assemblies Swap out the LED assemblies in the following order until you find the defective strip. 1. Rt. Side LED assembly. 2. Lt. Side LED assembly. 3. Top LED/Rt. Side assembly. 4. Top LED / Lt. side 5. Bottom LED / Rt. Side 6. Bottom LED / Lt. side Check harness for damage around screw posts 15
Swap and Test LED Assemblies Disconnect Right LED strip from unit and substitute new LED unit by laying next to old LED unit. 16
Swap and Test LED Assemblies Re-connect Touch Sensor unit on front cabinet. Stand up next to panel unit. (see next slide) NOTE: You can run this test before swapping LED strips and watch for the section that does not light up. Usually, this will be the right or left side strips. 17
How to Force On the Unit 1. Hold VOL, CHANNEL ^ and press POWER once or until the triangle light is steady. 2. Release buttons and the set should turn on. 18
Swap and Test LED Assemblies If unit forces on and remains on, you have replaced the correct LED strip. If the set didn t force on, then substitute the left side strip and continue testing. Use the following testing order. 1. Rt. Side LED assembly. 2. Lt. Side LED assembly. 3. Top LED/Rt. Side assembly. 4. Top LED / Lt. side 5. Bottom LED / Rt. Side 6. Bottom LED / Lt. side 19
Install LED Assembly After you located the defective LED strip, replace with new LED strip. Re-assembly set in reverse order. Clear lamp errors. 20
Cleaning and Re-Assembly Turn the unit on, or force on if lamp errors have not been cleared. Using a Microcloth, wipe away any dust particles before installing panel. 21
Cleaning and Re-Assembly Lay LCD panel back on top of Back light assembly, however, do not put any screws in. Turn on set and carefully slip the swab between the backlight assembly and LCD panel. Remove any dust with swab. NOTE: Please be careful not to bend and crack panel. 22
Cleaning and Re-Assembly Carefully set LCD Panel so it overlaps the Backlight assembly. Gently press down all sides and corners. They should set in place before securing with screws. 23
Cleaning and Re-Assembly Secure LCD Panel in place with screws. Finish assembling the remainder of the unit. 24

How to Force On the Unit Before you can reset lamp errors, you will need to force on the unit and then enter the service menu for troubleshooting 1. Hold VOL, CHANNEL ^ and press POWER once or until the triangle light is steady Note: The backlights may not turn on. Please look at the panel with a light source, i.e flashlight, etc. 2. Release buttons and the set should turn on 3. Follow the steps on the next slide to enter the Service menu 26
How to Enter Service Menu The set must be functioning in order to enter the service menu 1) While unit is on, Press and hold the POWER button on the Key Unit of the TV. Hold until the unit turns off and the triangle in the bottom-center blinks once. Hold Power Button until unit turns off and triangle blinks once Proceed with step 2 after triangle blinks once 27
How to Enter Service Menu 2) Press and hold VOL and INPUT buttons, then press the POWER button once, letting go of only the POWER button and wait about 15 seconds until the K appears, then release the VOL and INPUT buttons. 28

How to Perform Lamp Error Reset Page 1/24 will indicate if the set has experienced any lamp errors, and the unit will shut down after 5 lamp errors 5 Please follow the next steps on how to reset lamp errors 30
