PRE - TROUBLESHOOTING DIAGRAMS Turn f water supply to cistern and remove cistern lid. Internal Overflow Before emptying cistern water, mark water level inside cistern (if cistern does not have water line inside cistern) and empty cistern water. Tip : Use sponge to take residual water out inside = height water level in Cistern Disconnect water supply from inlet valve and remove cistern, remove old siphon, clean inside cistern any debris / dirt. Chamber = height water level in Cistern REMOVE THE LOCK clip. Measure height water level inside cistern and adjust height siphon (see picture). Fit LOCK clip to lock height siphon. 7
TROUBLESHOOTING OBSERVATIONS PROBLEMS SOLUTIONS The water level in cistern is above internal overflow height siphon Water is running into pan Water is leaking back into pan or onto floor flushing pan clean flushing pan clean on part flush The siphon will not flush The siphon is not flushing The inlet valve is not shutting f. Water is leaking from base cistern - in between pan and cistern or flushpipe. Water is running down flushpipe. amount water into pan. flush into pan When flushed only setting small flush into pan on part flush. The is in downward postion. No water is being flushed. One or both flapper(s) has come f retaining clip(s). Increase height siphon as per instruction page 7. Internal overflow height is marked on siphon. Clean inlet valve diaphragm if problem continues replace inlet valve. Check sealing washer has been fitted on inside cistern and backnut is tight if required give backnut / turn until watertight. Check backnut is tight if required give backnut / turn until watertight - check flushpipe sealing washer is not kinked or twisted and coupling nut is watertight. The siphon is dual flush Full flush hold down until flush has stopped - Part flush press down and release. Check flush selection instruction page 7. Check that siphon is correctly set as per instruction page 7. Make sure adjustable arm is attached to c-link and see page instruction. Make sure chamber by piston rod has water in it as this acts as a seal diagram page 7. Remove Motion from cistern leaving syphon leg in situ, remove c-link and gently squeeze clips on piston rod and n slowly push push rod down until piston base is free bell-housing and n clip flapper(s) back onto retaining clip(s), once this has been completed put piston base/rod back in bell-housing - attach c-link to piston rod and put Motion back onto siphon leg. INTERNAL OVERFLOW INFORMATION The Macdee Motion siphon comes complete with internal overflow but always check internal overflow level (marked on siphon) is always below any hole inside cistern where water can escape. Always check internal overflow can cope with incoming water supply by holding inlet valve down and allow water to fill inside If internal overflow cannot cope reduce incoming water by turning isolation valve down until internal overflow can cope. FOR HIGH OR LOW LEVEL CISTERNS Place rubber sealing washer (item ) on threaded tail Macdee Motion siphon and insert through cistern outlet hole (sealing washer must be on inside cistern). Place backnut (item ) on threaded tail and hand tighten and n / turn using adjustable spanner or grips. Tip : Put small amount water inside cistern and check for leaks if required give furr / turn using adjustable spanner or grips. Place coupling nut (item ) and flushpipe sealing washer (item ) onto flushpipe and insert flushpipe into tail siphon (0mm maximum), make sure sealing washer is not kinked or twisted n hand tighten coupling nut up. Attach adjustable arm on cistern lever to metal c-link. Use appropriate c-link so is set in o clock position. Turn water supply on and check installation is functional and water tight. on siphon. * Not included replacement * DFP0WH x 9 flushpipe * DCA700 Universal arm and screw Back nut Coupling nut Flush pipe Cistern base
FOR CLOSE COUPLED CISTERNS Place rubber sealing washer (item ) on threaded tail Macdee Motion siphon and insert through cistern outlet hole (sealing washer must be on inside cistern). Place close coupling plate (item ) onto threaded tail siphon and hand tighten siphon backnut (item ) and n turn / turn using adjustable spanner or grips. Tip : Put small amount water inside cistern and check for leaks if required give furr / turn using adjustable spanner or grips. Place close coupling washer (item ) onto threaded tail siphon and slide bolts into close coupling plate. Tip : Use new close coupling sealing washer when changing or replacing existing flushing siphon or valve this will stop chance leaks. Carefully connect cistern to pan and secure in place. Attach adjustable arm on cistern lever to metal c-link. Use appropriate c-link so is set in o clock position. Turn water supply on and check installation is functional and water tight. FOR THE REDUCED FLUSH Press cistern Release. R down Adjustable reduced flush. depends on t FOR THE FULL FLUSH P Press cistern Hold until flush has down finished Adjustable full flush. H on siphon. Screws* T depends on LID LOCKING SECURITY SYSTEM The cistern lid can be secured to siphon but only if cistern lid has hole already punched into it. (screw not included).
