DESCRIPTION This supplement provides requirements and guidance for operating the AT-402B aircraft at weights over the certificated gross weight for agricultural operations in Brazil. The AT-402 series aircraft were originally designed and certificated in the United States by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to be operated at and above the FAA certificated gross weight in accordance with FAA Civil Aeronautics Regulation (CAR) 8 and Civil Aeronautics Manual (CAM) 8. This higher weight was defined as the Special Purpose Operating Weight for that aircraft and provided a means for operators to carry higher chemical payloads. To qualify for this higher weight, the operator is required to accept an airspeed limitation. This airspeed limitation provides protection against overstressing the aircraft and provides a lower attainable maneuvering load factor. The operator is responsible for adjusting the actual operating weight to provide safe margin of performance for the existing flight conditions per CAM 8.10-4(b)(2). In Brazil, the operator may increase the maximum operating weight for agricultural operations by following the guidance of this Airplane Flight Manual (AFM) Supplement. The information contained in this document supplements or supersedes the basic Airplane Flight Manual only in those areas listed herein. For information not contained in this document, consult the basic Airplane Flight Manual. Issued: April 7, 2016 Agricultural Overweight Operations Page 4 of 20
SECTION 1 LIMITATIONS AIRSPEED LIMITATIONS: When operating at gross weights over the certificated maximum weight of 3,175 Kg [7,000 lbs], the aircraft may not be flown faster than the design Maneuvering Speed, VA, of 122 Knots [140 mph] CAS. Therefore the airspeed limitations are modified as shown below: SPEED CAS IAS REMARKS Never Exceed (Vne) 140 mph 138 mph Do not exceed in any 122 knts 120 kts operation. 225 km/h 222 km/h Maneuver (Va) 140 mph 138mph No full or abrupt control 122 kts 120 kts movements above this speed 225 km/h 222 km/h Maximum Flap Extended (Vfe) 115 mph 118 mph Do not exceed with fully 100 kts 102 kts extended flaps 185 km/h 190 km/h Maximum Structural Cruising (Vno) 140 mph 138 mph Do not exceed in turbulent air. 122 kts 120 kts 225 km/h 222 km/h AIRSPEED INDICATOR MARKINGS: There is no change to the airspeed indicator markings when operating at weights above the certificated maximum weight. Operation is prohibited in the yellow arc of the airspeed indicator (above 122 Knots [140 mph] CAS). Note that the stall speed at 4,159 Kg [9,170 lbs] is 79 KCAS [91 mph CAS] with flaps retracted. WEIGHT LIMITS: Maximum Takeoff Weight: Maximum Landing Weight: Baggage Compartment: Maximum Hopper Load: 4,159 Kg (9,170 lbs) 3,175 Kg (7,000 lbs) 27.2 Kg (60 lbs) at +239 cm (+94 in) 1,514 liters (400 U.S. Gal.) 1,474 Kg (3,250 lbs) at +30.5 cm (+12.0 in) Note: It is the responsibility of the airplane owner and operator to ensure that the airplane is properly loaded. See Weight and Balance data in the base Airplane Flight Manual for proper loading instructions. Issued: April 7, 2016 Agricultural Overweight Operations Page 5 of 20

Pilot is responsible for ensuring weight/cg stay within these limits throughout the flight. Issued: April 7, 2016 Agricultural Overweight Operations Page 6 of 20
FLIGHT LOAD FACTOR LIMITS: When operating at or below 3,175 Kg (7,000 lbs): Flaps Retracted Flaps Extended Maximum Positive +3.8 +1.9 Maximum Negative -1.9 0.0 When operating above 3,175 Kg (7,000 lbs): Flaps Retracted Flaps Extended Maximum Positive +2.9 +1.9 Maximum Negative -1.45 0.0 FLIGHT CREW LIMITS: One (1) Pilot @ +188 cm (+74.0 in) No crew member permitted in optional Crew Seat when operating above 3,175 Kg (7,000 lbs) OPERATING LIMITATIONS: a. thru f. - No change from Airplane Flight Manual. g. The operator is responsible for adjusting the actual operating weight to provide safe margin of performance for the existing flight conditions. Reduce weight as necessary for safety to take into account density altitude, runway length/conditions, and terrain. PLACARDS AND MARKINGS: The following placard must be attached to the outside of the aircraft, on the hopper lid: Issued: April 7, 2016 Agricultural Overweight Operations Page 7 of 20
SECTION 2 NORMAL PROCEDURES TAKEOFF AT WEIGHTS ABOVE 3,175 KG (7,000 LBS): Take into account density altitude, runway length/conditions, and terrain. Reduce your aircraft weight as necessary to allow for a safe takeoff and flight. When operating the aircraft from a new location or at temperatures higher than those experienced previously at that location, the operator should begin operations with a lightly loaded aircraft and work up to higher weight in increments. This is important to test the capabilities of the aircraft from the runway being used. 1. Lower flap to 20 position (first mark). 2. Hold the brakes and slowly apply full power (within torque and temperature limits). 3. Release the brakes and allow the aircraft to accelerate. 4. Allow the tail to come up and make a conventional takeoff. 5. After breaking ground, do not retract the flaps until at least 87 KCAS (100 mph CAS). 6. See Climb charts in Section 4 to determine best climb speed for the aircraft weight. 7. Adjust trim lever for climb and check temperature and torque limits. Reduce propeller RPM to approx. 2100 RPM for climb. CAUTION: Reduction of prop RPM will increase Torque and can cause torque limit to be exceeded when already operating at max. torque. No change to basic Airplane Flight Manual. SECTION 3 EMERGENCY PROCEDURES Issued: April 7, 2016 Agricultural Overweight Operations Page 8 of 20
SECTION 4 MANUFACTURER'S SECTION - PERFORMANCE The data contained in this section has not been approved by the FAA but is provided by Air Tractor for the information of the operator. GENERAL: Takeoff and initial climb performance has been demonstrated at 4,159 Kg (9,170 lbs) gross weight from a dry, smooth, hard runway and reduced to standard day conditions for all RESTRICTED CATEGORY operations. Maximum Takeoff Weight Charts are provided for the PT6A-15AG and PT6A-34AG engines. These charts are also known as WAT charts (Weight-Altitude-Temperature). These charts illustrate the maximum weight that allows the aircraft to establish an initial climb of at least 300 feet per minute AND at least a 2.5% climb gradient. This chart DOES NOT take into account runway length, so the Takeoff Distance charts must be consulted to determine if sufficient runway length is available for the planned takeoff. DO NOT TAKEOFF AT WEIGHTS ABOVE THOSE LISTED FOR CURRENT CONDITIONS!!! Takeoff Distance Tables are provided for aircraft equipped with the PT6A-15AG and PT6A-34AG engines. These tables are provided for the conditions listed. Density Altitude, runway surface, weather conditions, and airplane condition must be given special consideration during all RESTRICTED CATEGORY operations, including takeoff. Takeoffs may not be permitted at all conditions shown, but these conditions are shown for use when interpolating between points. Consult Maximum Takeoff Weight charts for maximum weight allowable for current conditions. Climb performance is provided at the airspeeds provided on the charts with the engine at maximum continuous power available for that condition. The climb performance is provided for 2200 propeller RPM. A Landing Distance chart is also provided. This chart should be used with the understanding that landing distances are highly dependent on pilot technique. In general, the landing distances provided were conducted using the NORMAL LANDING procedures presented in the Airplane Flight Manual. The performance data in this section may be referenced for any operating weight in the CG envelope, regardless of whether the aircraft is operating in the OVERWEIGHT RANGE FOR AGRICULTURAL OPERATIONS or in the NORMAL CERTIFICATED OPERATING RANGE. STALL SPEEDS: Stall speeds at 4,159 Kg (9,170 lbs) gross weight, power IDLE are as follows: Angle of Bank (Degrees) 0 15 30 45 60 Stall Speed (Knots - CAS) Flaps Up 79 80 85 94 111 Stall Speed (Knots - CAS) Flaps Down 68 69 73 81 96 Issued: April 7, 2016 Agricultural Overweight Operations Page 9 of 20
