PRESS REVIEW October 2nd, 2018 Passenger Car and Light Commercial Vehicle Market Showed a Decrease of 26% in the nine months of 2018. Passenger Car Market Decreased By 24%, Light Commercial Vehicle Market Decreased By 33%. Turkey s passenger car and light commercial vehicle total market decreased by 26,12% in the first nine months of 2018 compared to the same period of the previous year, to 463,456. In the nine-month period of 2017, total market sales figure was 627,343. Passenger car sales went down by 23.95% in the first nine months of 2018, compared to the same period of previous year, to 362,465. In the same period of 2017, the sales were 476,621. In January-September period of 2018, light commercial vehicle market decreased by 33%, in comparison to the year before, to 100,991. In the same period of previous year, the sales were 150,722. Passenger Car and Light Commercial Vehicle Market Showed a Decrease of 68% in September 2018. Passenger Car Market Decreased By 67%, Light Commercial Vehicle Market Decreased By 70%. In September 2018, passenger car and light commercial vehicle market decreased to 23,028. In comparison to the total number of 71,352 in September 2017, the sales went down in a ratio of 67.73%. In September 2018, passenger car sales went down by 67.06% in comparison to the same month of the year before and were 17,595. Last year, the sales were 53,423. Light commercial vehicle market decreased by 69.7% in September 2018 compared to September 2017, to 5,433. Last year, the sales were 17,929.

By the end of September 2018, a decrease of 24.1% in the sales of passenger cars below 1600cc and a decrease of 28,0% in the sales of passenger cars with a 1600-2000cc motor volume was observed. As for the sales of the passenger cars over 2000cc, a decrease of 23.3% was observed. 122 electric cars and 3,148 hybrid passenger cars were sold in the first nine months of 2018. When the average emission values of the passenger car market in the end of September 2018 are considered, the passenger cars between 100-120g/km took the largest share with a ratio of 40.75%, with a number of 147,708. At the end of September 2018, diesel passenger car sales share decreased to 59.33%, while the automatic transmission passenger car sales share increased to 65,20%. At the end of September 2018, 83.61% of the passenger car market segment again consisted of the vehicles in the A, B and C segments. When evaluated according to segments, Segment C with a share of 55.1% reached the highest sales volume (a quantity of 199,836). When evaluated according to frame, most preferred body type was again Sedan (50.8%, a quantity of 184,181). At the end of September 2018, in light commercial vehicle market, when evaluated according to body type, Van s with a share of 68.48% had the highest sales volume (69,163), Light trucks followed them with a share of 12.25% (12,368) while the share of Pick-ups was 10.44% (10,547) and the share of Minibuses was 8.83% (8,913). In the first nine months of 2018, Turkey's passenger car and light commercial vehicle total market decreased by %26,12 and presented a sales number of 463,456. Last year, the sales were 627,343. In September 2018, passenger car and light commercial vehicle market presented a sales number of 23,028. In comparison to the total number of 71,352 in September 2017, the sales went down in a ratio of 67.73%. In the first nine months of 2018, passenger car sales went down by 23.95% in comparison to the same period of previous year and were 362,465. In the same period of previous year, the sales were 476,621. In September 2018, passenger car sales went down by 67.06% in comparison to the same month of the year before and were 17,595. In September 2017, the sales were 53,423. In January-September period of 2018, light commercial vehicle sales decreased by 33% in comparison to the same period of the last year, to 100,991. In the same period of previous year, the sales were 150,722. In September 2018, light commercial vehicle sales decreased by 69.7% in comparison to the same month of previous year, to 5,433. In September 2017, the sales were 17,929. The light commercial vehicle market, in comparison to the average 10-year September sales, showed a decrease of 71.60%. When the end of September 2018 passenger car market is studied in terms of engine volume, the biggest slice of the pie was taken by passenger cars under 1600cc with a ratio of 95.89% and a number of 347,569. Passenger cars between 1600cc to 2000cc followed them with a ratio of 2.91% and passenger cars above 2000cc with a ratio of 0.30%. In comparison with the same period of 2017, a decrease of 24.1% in the sales of passenger cars below 1600cc and a decrease of 28.0% in the sales of passenger cars with a 1600-2000cc motor volume was observed. As for the sales of the passenger cars over 2000cc, a decrease of 23.3% was observed. 76 electric cars below 85kW engine power and 46 electric cars above 121 Kw, a total of 122 electric cars were sold in the first nine months of 2018. At the end of September 2018, 435 hybrid cars under 1600cc, 2,480 hybrid cars between 1601cc-1800cc (>50kW), 25 hybrid cars between 1801cc - 2000cc, 203 hybrid cars between 2001cc-2500cc (>100KW) and 5 hybrid cars above 2500cc were sold. 3,148 hybrid cars were sold in January-September period of 2018. When the end of September 2018 passenger car market is studied in terms of average emission values, passenger cars between 100-120 gr/km have the highest share of 40.75% (147,708) and following this, passenger cars between 120-140 gr/km have a share of 21.74% (78,809). When evaluated according to segments, Segment C with a share of 55.1% has the highest sales volume (199,836) and Segment B follows it with a share of 28.2% (102,163). At the end of September 2018, when evaluated according to frame type, most preferred body type was again Sedan (50.8%, a quantity of 184,181). Following Sedan passenger cars are Hatchback frame with a share of 24.7% and a sales volume of 89,518 and SUV with a share of 20.2% and total sales volume of 73,374.

At the end of September 2018, automatic transmission passenger car sales numbers, in comparison to the same period in 2017, decreased by 15.93%. Automatic transmission passenger car sale shares at the end of September 2018, in comparison to the same period of the previous year, increased from 58.98% to 65.20% (a number of 236,319).
