If you do not believe you are qualified in performing the necessary installation and modifications to your chassis, please find an experienced professional who can. Karcepts, Inc. will not be held responsible for improper modifications to your chassis. It is your job to make certain the lower radiator support brackets are positioned properly and welded securely.
1. REMOVING THE LOWER RADIATOR SUPPORTS Center punch and drill out the factory spot welds that hold the lower AC and radiator support brackets. A 5/16 drill bit is adequate enough to remove the welds as long as you are on-center when drilling. If not on-center with the spot welds, you may need to increase the drill bit size to 11/32 or 3/8. If necessary, use the aid of a chisel and hammer to complete the removal of the brackets.
2. RELOCATING THE LOWER RADIATOR SUPPORTS 1. Remove the rubber grommet from the factory upper radiator support bracket and install into the provided Karcepts bracket. Attach the Karcepts upper radiator support bracket to the driver s side (in a LHD vehicle) of your 1992-1995 Civic using two M6 cap screws, M6 lock washers, and M6 flat washers. 2. Position the radiator of choice into the Karcepts upper radiator support bracket and attach the previously removed lower radiator supports to the radiator with the factory rubber grommets.
2. RELOCATING THE LOWER RADIATOR SUPPORTS 3. Position the lower radiator supports such that the radiator will sit square to the front bulkhead; then use a sharpie marker to mark the position needed to weld. As a reference, the center-to-center distance for the holes in the lower radiator supports should measure 13-1/8 apart. 4. Clamp and weld the lower radiator supports into their marked positions. Remove the Karcepts upper radiator support at this time.
3. MOUNTING THE RESERVE TANK AND RADIATOR 1. Modify your factory reserve tank bracket by removing the lower ear as shown. 2. Mount the Karcepts reserve tank bracket extension into the tapped hole of the chassis where the factory upper radiator support was previously mounted. Use an M6 cap screw and M6 lock washer.
3. MOUNTING THE RESERVE TANK AND RADIATOR 3. Attach the modified reserve tank bracket to the Karcepts reserve tank bracket extension with an M6 cap screw, M6 lock washer, and M6 nut. Insert the radiator into the relocated lower radiator supports and re-attach the Karcepts upper radiator support bracket using two M6 cap screws, M6 lock washers, and M6 flat washers. Congratulations, your radiator relocation is now complete!!!
