It is our recommendation that we purchase one (1) pick-up truck (2016 F350 Super Cab), from Signature Ford in the amount of $28,373.00. Signature Ford provides the most competitive pricing and is also compliant with our bid specifications. Furthermore, this truck is similar to pickup trucks purchased in the past four years for the Maintenance Department, which allows for easier in-house repairs and maintenance going forward. This project was advertised on www.bid4michigan.com, in the Record Eagle and with Builders Exchange of Northwest Michigan. The scope of the project is for the provision and installation of a 10 kilowatt Photovoltaic Solar Panel System with a net metering arrangement at Traverse Heights Elementary School. The system is comprised of forty (40), 250W panels: five arrays of eight panels each on a raised frame. The installation will be at a sloped roof location, with an existing PVC Thermoplastic Roof membrane contractor to coordinate with roofing manufacturer s requirements for maintaining the integrity of the roof. Following the completion of our post-bid interviews, we recommend that a contract for the Photovoltaic Solar Panel Project at Traverse Heights be awarded to Leelanau Solar for a total contract award not to exceed $37,785.00. This figure includes a 10% contingency. The work for this contract may begin September 15, 2015 with substantial completion no later than October 30, 2015.
