Rollouts 2b Removal of Drawers and Non-Shrouded Rollouts from the Suspension 1b 1. Remove screws in the front on both sides of the drawer (1a) or rollout (1b). 1b 2. Pry out the suspension of the drawer (2a) or rollout (2b) at the eyebrow. 3. Lift drawer or rollout up and out of suspension belt loop. Drawers 4. Reverse for re-installation. Removal of a Drawer Suspension NOTE: If the upper unit(s) do not have rollouts, then it is not necessary to remove the suspensions or the interlock assembly. 1. With a pencil (or non permanent marking method) mark the location of the slide on the case side. 2. Remove suspension by turning the bottom of the suspension outward so the bottom front tab is disengaged (2a). Pull upward so the top front tab is disengaged (2b). 1 2 Removal of Non-Shrouded Offset Suspensions 1. Rotate front hook of suspension toward center of case to disengage. 2. Pull up to disengage second tab in front. 3. Pull suspension forward from the suspension hook in the rear of the offset bracket. 3 4. Remove offset brackets by sliding bracket forward (4a) and rotating out (4b). Fixed Shelf Removal (if present) 1. Remove screws from bottom of shelf bracket. 2. Remove shelves. 3. Remove shelf brackets. 1 2 3 NOTE: If stacking a lift up unit on the top of another lift up unit, you may need to replace screw with P/N 854010496. Page 5 of 19
Removing the Interlock Cable 1b NOTE: It is only necessary to remove the interlock assembly if the upper unit(s) contain rollouts. 1. To make removing the cable easier, cut in two pieces and pull out of mechanisms. Starting with the cable in this position (1a), rotate cable up until fitting is horizontal (1b) and then pull cable and fitting straight out (1c). 1a CABLE 1c Page 6 of 19
Relocating the Interlock Mechanism 2b 3b NOTE: These steps are required only if rollouts are being relocated. 1. Mark the top location of each interlock mechanism with a removable mark. BACKER 3a 2. Remove interlock mechanisms from side. Using fingers (or a screwdriver), pull back tabs (2a). Holding tabs back, remove backer from case side (2b). TAB 2a 3. For non-shrouded file frames only, remove non-shrouded interlock bracket by removing screw (3a) and then lifting bracket up and away from the case side (3b). CASE 4. Loop and twist cable to disengage from backer snaps or cut cable and pull out of backer. 4 PENCIL MARK 1 Page 7 of 19
Top Removal NOTE: If doors are present, unlatch the hinge, rotate out of the way and take off hinge plate (see assembly direction 939501626). 1. Remove the two (2) front screws on both sides of cabinet from underside of top (1a). If lock bars and lock bar holders are in the way, remove the screws and pull out of the channel. Let dangle by the connector until the top is re-installed. Remove rear center screw if applicable (1b). 1a #10-32 X 1/2" PAN HEAD SCREWS 1a 1b 2. Pull top forward to remove (2a). RELEASE LEVER Removing Door from Stack Units 1 1. Open door. 2. Support door. 3. Detach hinges (start at bottom). a) Hold down the mounting plate release lever. b) Push gently on hinge cup. 3a HINGE CUP NOTE: If the hinge won't disengage from the mounting plates, adjust the hinge inboard. 3 4 Combining Stacking Units 1. Position units on their backs. 2. Add back attaching screws. 3. Attach front nut and screw to attach front of case sides. 4. Add screw to attach rear case sides. Note that the LH and RH will be in opposite directions. 5. Remove top shipping brace. File down any burrs where screws were located. 2 6. Field Adjustable Cable Assembly 2 3 Attaching Cable Note: Upper stacking unit(s) with roll-outs requires the field adjustable cable assembly (because of the change in the overall height of the unit). ADJUSTABLE CABLE CLAMP 1. Attach diecast fitting to lower hole. CABLE 2. Insert cable through the interlock cam/backer assembly. 1" 3. Insert cable through the adjustable cable clamp, and then back through the adjustable cable clamp until there is approximately 1" of cable shown on the underside of the adjustable cable clamp. 1 UPPER ADJUSTMENT CLIP 4 SCREW 4. Attach the cable to the case side with the screw and upper attachment clip. Make sure cable is captured between clip and case side. Page 11 of 19
PENCIL MARK 5 Attaching Cable (continued) ADJUSTABLE CABLE CLAMP 7 5. Attach interlock backer cam assembly into cabinet. Push until tabs make a "clicking" sound. It may be necessary to slide the interlock backer/cam assembly up or down to align to the pencil mark. 6. Rotate one cam only to the engaged position (6a). The cable must be woven throughout the interlock backer/cam assembly as shown (6b). MARKED LOCATION 7. Pull the cable taught. 8. Disengage the cam and install the balance of interlock backer/cam assemblies. 9. For non-shrouded file frames only, attach nonshrouded interlock bracket using a self-drilling screw. Installation of a Drawer Suspension 1. Locate rear slide tabs into slots (1a). Pull slide forward (1b). Insert front/top tab into slot by twisting slide slightly and pushing towards the case side (1c). Top View Installation of Offset Suspension OFFSET BRACKET 1 1. Insert offset brackets by placing tab into slot and rotating sideways (1a) and then pushing sideways (1b). 2. Installation of Rollouts 1. Extend 1 set of slides and engage the interlock cam. 1 CAM (shown in the engaged position) SUSPENSION EYEBROW ON ROLL-OUT SIDE 2. Place the rollout in and down into the suspension belt loops. Push downward on the rear of the rollout until the eyebrow snaps into place on the suspension. CABLE 3. Install screws on both sides of rollout. 4. Close the rollout. 5. Move to the next set of suspensions and repeat rollout installation. 3 3 Page 16 of 19

Checking the Interlock Function 1. Check interlock function as shown. Note: Only one rollout will open at a time if mechanism is properly installed.
