Cat 1Droid Electric Unicycle User Manual and Quick Start Guide English Version Outdoor Sports Equipment

Introduction! Dear Customer, Thank you for choosing Cat and Congratulations on becoming the proud owner of the new and adventure packed Cat 1Droid. Now that youõve unpacked the unit its time to get started with the Þrst steps on how to get acquainted thoroughly with the Cat 1Droid. The 1Droid is an outdoors sports device which allows for more freedom and ability to quickly move from place to place. The compact yet powerful unit is loaded with hours of leisurely entertainment for all ages. Please read this user manual carefully, to ensure that you: quickly learn how to ride the Cat 1Droid, Do not fall or injure yourself, can fully enjoy the 1Droid and be a step ahead from the competition! Before we get started: Just like riding a bike for the Þrst time, the start was probably wobbly, uncoordinated and slow, however with practice the actions became more natural. Balancing, steering, accelerating and braking are now second nature. Similarly, this is how it will be when learning how to ride and operate the Cat 1Droid. With the step by step guide you will be cruising through your neighborhood in no time! With these detailed instructions you will learn how to use and operate the 1Droid, Þnd your balance and ride conþdently. It is important to note that you should not expect to instantly take off on the streets with the 1Droid, just like learning how to ride a bicycle, there is steep learning curveall it takes is some practice and patience. Included with the 1Droid are training wheels to offer you support while learning, it is also recommended to have a friend assist you during the learning process.

Designed with ease in mind- the Cat 1Droid has been created for all types of users, experienced and inexperienced. Equipped with a special stabilization system the 1Droid makes it easier to balance on one wheel. The system helps prevent the rider from tipping forward or backward but naturally it is up to the user to learn how to maintain their own balance, as to not fall over sideways. Support tools such as training wheels and a grip belt come included with the unit Your safety is very important to us therefore it is imperative you read through this manual carefully. It is highly important that you practice caution and safety when using the Electric Unicycle. Only practice and ride the unit in designated areas permitted by your local laws and regulations as to not endanger yourself or others around you. Please note: The Electric Unicycle is classiþed as a sports equipment, therefore it may not be used on public roads (as of January 2015, Germany). It is likely you will draw a lot of attention to yourself while riding the 1Droid, due to its unique features, therefore it is very important you pay special attention to all the laws and regulations and always take caution for others around you. Always ride responsibly. Finally, ensure you read through the manual carefully and enjoy responsibly your new Cat 1Droid! SPORTS DEVICE USE CAREFULLY READ USER MANUAL THOROUGHLY WEAR PROTECTIVE GEAR

1 This image contains an experienced rider. Make sure to wear protective gear!

Before riding the 1Droid carefully and thoroughly read through the Instruction Manual Use a wall, fence or other stable object to help you stabilize yourself while getting on the unit Place one foot on a pedal Do Not turn the Power on yet. The Cat 1Droid will only stabilize itself once it is turned on. Once you power on the unit be careful of your feet and ankles, the unit may set in motion towards you causing injury. Hold on to the top handle bar while powering on. While the unit is turned on, slowly get a feel for its weight and rolling behavior- before starting to ride NOTE: Use the training wheels and removable belt (included) when learning how to use the 1Droid. For further instructions please visit 1droid.cat-sound.com

2

Support yourself using a wall or stable object Press the Power button on Slowly stand upright The Cat 1Droid will begin to stabilize itself and allow you to Þnd your balance more easily It is recommended to have a friend help you during this stage

3

Repeat the process from Step 2 Now place the other foot on the opposite pedal. Straighten your posture slowly As you straighten your posture you will feel the stabilization system on the 1Droid begin to work. Remember the 1Droid balances on one wheel. The balancing system only maintains balance forwards and backwards not left and right. It is your duty to keep the right and left balance. Ask a friend to help you keep your balance when getting started NOTE: The best balance is achieved once you start riding. Initially it is difþcult for inexperienced users to maintain their balance when standing in one spot. You may Þnd that even when riding slow your balance may not be perfect, try to maintain a decent speed. Just like riding a bike this procedure needs some practice and getting used to.

4

Next, slowly push off the wall, or other stable object, and straighten your posture while standing on the 1Droid. While learning, it is best to have a friend or support to help you with this procedure It is recommended to try to balance on your own You can use the training wheels as support to help you learn to balance on the 1Droid. For further information about the training wheels and instructions please visit: 1droid.cat-sound.com

5

Stand up, balancing yourself on the 1Droid (using support at Þrst) Slowly lean forward Leaning your weight forward will set the 1Droid in motion. You are now ready to ride Be very careful! When leaning forward the Cat 1Droid will automatically start moving. This will take some practice learning how much pressure and balance to apply. Keep in mind this unit rests on a single wheel, even with the stabilization system it will not simply stay in one spot. Roll carefully back and forth to practice balance. Just like a bicycle it is easier to keep a steady balance by maintaining a consistent speed. That does not mean we recommend you should accelerate or speed. The faster you go the higher risk of injury. Please be responsible when learning to ride the 1Droid!

6

You can now ride freely Slowly learn and practice how to accelerate forward To reduce your acceleration lean back slightly To steer, lean slightly to your desired direction. Do not pivot your upper body to turn - this method is not effective To help practice balancing, support yourself up right using, either, a wall or friend. While standing on the 1Droid slowly roll back and forth in one spot to Þnd equilibrium An instructional video on how to balance can be found on: 1droid.cat-sound.com Keep practicing how to balance and coordinate yourself on the 1Droid. Its important not to give up immediately - just like riding a bike, once you learn how to ride it ll become second nature. :-)

Product Description The Cat 1Droid is a new high-tech outdoor sports product. Developed using state of the art aerospace attitude control theory, fuzzy software algorithm and Gyroscope system to allow riders to maintain balance by leaning forward and backward. Through slight movements of the body the user can control the acceleration, deceleration, braking and other driving operations. Using similar techniques to riding a bicycle, riders are able to maintain balance by slightly titling their body sideways. The 1Droid is not just environmentally friendly, portable and durable but also offers hours of leisurely entertainment. SpeciÞcation Parameter Notes Max Speed Cruising Range ~ 15 km/h ~ 20 km max. Getting Started: A) Device Diagram

B) Battery Status Indicator The 4-LED lights indicate the charging status of the battery. Always check the status of the battery before using the 1Droid Charge the unit when the battery indicator lights start flashing red to avoid an empty charge during use. We recommend charging the 1Droid after each use. When the battery charge drops under 5% all 4-LED lights will flash along with a continuous beeping sound.the front pedal will then gradually lift, forcing you to slowly decelerate to a stop. In this case, do not start riding the unit again to avoid running out of power suddenly. When the device runs out of power all safety systems will cease to function and you will run the risk of injury to yourself, the unit and others around you. Never ride the 1Droid when the battery status is low as to avoid injury. Please note: Your driving range in the Winter and low temperatures will be reduced due to the effect that cold temperatures have on the lithium battery discharge. Therefore, it is important to consider that your riding mileage may be shortened. DO NOT DRIVE WHEN ALL FOUR LED LIGHTS FLASH

C) SPEED LIMIT PROTECTION In order to prevent and minimize the risk of injury the Cat 1Droid has an integrated electronic speed limit. When the speed of the unit exceeds 12km/h the foot pedals will slowly lift to signal you to decelerate. If you do not slow down at this point a warning signal will sound. Note : Do not force the body to accelerate forward when the speed is nearing the maximum speed D) Roll Protection An automatic rotation protection system is activated when the Cat 1Droid is tilted more than 45 sideways, for example when the unit falls. The system will immediately stop the wheels and motor from rotating in order to prevent and minimize injury. As soon as the Roll Protection is activated an alarm will sound and all 4-LED indicators will flash at the same time. 45 To deactivate the alarm simply reboot the 1Droid by turning the power switch off and on again.

E) Charging Only use the designated power supply to charge the Cat 1Droid. To charge your 1Droid connect the authorized Power Supply (included) to the charging socket (located on the top of the device beside the Power Switch) to a power outlet. Under normal charging conditions the unit will take approximately 60 minutes for a full charge, and about 45mins to reach 80%. While charging the 4-LED indicator lights will be red, the light will turn green once the charge is complete. Allow the 1Droid to complete a full charge before unplugging the unit from the Power Supply. Only if completely necessary, or in emergency cases, should you unplug the device during a charge. Do not leave the 1Droid unattended while charging. The Power Charger may emit a slight humming noise when plugged in, this noise is completely normal and does not indicate any defect. If you suspect any defects to the charger do not connect it to the power outlet and contact your distributor. F) Water Resistent The Cat 1Droid has a waterproof rating of IP56. It is water resistent however not waterproof. This means the unit can be in no more than 10cm of water. The unit can only be used in light rain. Avoid using the 1Droid during heavy rainfall, and submersing in deep water.

Before Riding: A) Find an appropriate training area: To practice riding the Cat 1Droid, select a flat and open area free from other vehicles and crowds of people. The Cat 1Droid is classiþed as an outdoor sports device, it is not intended as an alternative for transportation. Therefore driving on public roads is strictly prohibited (as of January 2015, Germany). Users are responsible for their safety and that of those around them while riding the 1Droid. B) Prior to riding the Cat 1Droid, always check: The battery is sufþciently charged The devicesõ warning sounds are working- To test simply turn the 1Droid on, it should sound a beep, this indicates the speakers are working. There are no loose parts or unusual noises There are no mechanical or electronic problems with the unit You may start riding once youõve properly checked that the 1Droid is functionally secure and the battery is fully charged. Note: The Cat 1Droid will warn you when the battery is low by sounding a long ÔbeepÕ noise. The same warning sound is emitted when the deviceõs Roll Protection is activated and when you exceed the speed limit of the device. The 1Droid must make a short beep noise when powered on this allows you to check whether the speakers in the unit are working properly. If the device does not make a short sound when you power it on, it may indicate the warning signals are also not functioning. It is strongly recommended that you do NOT ride the unit. Immediately contact your service center to prevent any injury.

C) Learn with Friends It is recommended to learn how to ride the 1Droid with a friend, to be able to exchange tips and ideas as well as, to offer each other balancing aid. D) Always wear protective gear: such as Helmet, knee and elbow pads, gloves etc E) Wear Appropriate clothing When using the Cat 1Droid make sure you wear appropriate clothing that will not obstruct or constrict your movement. Be careful that you do not wear clothing that can get stuck in the wheel while riding. Protective gear Use a friend as a balancing aid
