AUCKLAND MGCC RV8 S GET TOGETHER 4 MG RV8's turned out for Auckland New Zealand's recent MGCC Concourse. Featured were Grant McKenzie's Red car, Terry Madsen's Blue car and Woodcote green cars from Tadd Pigging and Harley Norager GOT A RATTLE IN YOUR DOOR? Do you have a rattle in the door of your RV8? (usually the drivers door) The door glass rear runner has a tendency for the lower bracket to break off around the mounting nut. Constant closing of the door finally fractures the bracket which is made from a very thin material. Repair is most easily carried out by drilling a hole through the door inner panel and bracket and using a nut and bolt to re attach the lower mount to the frame. BROKEN BOTTOM WINDOW RUNNER BRACKET DRILL NEW HOLE IN DOOR INNER SKIN AND- BRACKET AND USE NUT AND BOLT TO SECURE While you have the trim off give the winder mechanism joints and moving surfaces including the locks a spray with some WD40 or some light oil. A spray with some silicon lubricant into the lock barrels and on the keys will make a world of difference to the operation of your locks.

A GOOD IDEA AT THE TIME? OR WAS IT I ve got to admit that I thought it was a good idea 12 months ago when I actually bid on and ended up owning this thing! In the cold light of day and a few more photos showing brake lines going down between the exhaust branches I panicked. I had the car returned to auction took a loss and let some English chap have the pleasure of ownership.(i think it still decorates his dealership). Why have fuel injection when you can have a Holley I ask? Sequential 6 speed,line locking brakes,hydraulic handbrake (for drifting) luxury trim and front and rear wheels that don t match go to make up this gem. The attention to detail (none) and the extensive use of pop rivets all go to give a quality feel to this project. Now if only I could buy the 120Y that probably has the RV8 trim and injection I d be onto a real winner.

LOCAL RV8 ACTIVITIES Thirteen or so RV8"s from the Sydney region headed to the central coast for an informal coffee stop on the Old Pacific Highway. A range of pampered cars in all the Japanese available colours were along for the ride. Organized by group director Alan Heritage this was the most RV8's seen in one place for some time. RV8's out on 36 degree Centigrade Sunday Another good showing by the RV8 owners on the MGB register run to Wisemans Ferry. 36 degree C temperatures saw no heating problems under the bonnet but a few hot feet. 9 RV8's turned out along with about 30 other MG's of various types. Around 100 people turned out for the MGB registers annual twilight run. After a BBQ and much story telling we all headed home in the failing light with the temperature still sitting around 32 degrees C at 10 pm. Try that in the UK.
