99-7870 DSH DISSSEMLY HOND RIDGELINE 005-009 Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Unclip and remove entire panel surrounding radio and a/c control all the way over to left side of steering wheel. (Figure ) 3 Remove (5) Phillips screws securing the radio and pocket assembly. (Figure ) 4 Remove () Phillips screws ( per side) securing factory pocket to radio/pocket bracket assembly. (Figure C, D) D Continue to kit assembly. C

99-7870 KIT SSEMLY HOND RIDGELINE 005-009 DIN HED UNIT PROVISION Slide the DIN cage into the Radio Housing and secure by bending the metal locking tabs down. (Figure ) Slide the aftermarket head unit into the cage and secure. (Figure ) Continue to final assembly. 3
99-7870 KIT SSEMLY HOND RIDGELINE 005-009 ISO DIN HED UNIT PROVISION Mount the ISO rackets to the head unit with the screws supplied with the unit. (Figure ) Slide the head unit into the radio opening until the side clips engage. (Figure ) 3 Snap the trim plate into the Radio Housing. (Figure ) Continue to final assembly. 4
FINL SSEMLY Locate the factory wiring harness in the dash and make the connection as shown. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter and making the connections as shown. (Isolate and individually tape off the ends of any unused wires to prevent electrical short circuit.) Re-connect the negative battery terminal and test the unit for proper operation. 3 Reassemble radio and dash assemblies in reverse order of disassembly. FINL WIRING CONNECTIONS Make wiring connections using the EI color code chart shown below and the instructions included with the head unit. Metra recommends making connections as shown below; Strip, Splice, Solder, Tape.
