Motor Cars (sedan type) - (02 Nos.) Vans (15 Seater ) - (02 Nos.) 2) The eligible lessors should be vehicle agents who are franchise holders of world renowned vehicle brands available in Sri Lanka, financial institutions registered under the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, and car rental services (i.e Rent a Car Companies) with at least 10 vehicles in the fleet. 3) Maximum monthly rental ceiling will be Rs.120,000.00 (per car) and Rs.170,000.00 (per van) as per the provisions made in Public Enterprise Circular No. PED 4 / 2016 (i) dated 19-10-2016. 4) A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders upon payment of a non refundable fee Rs. 6,000/= for each Bid to the Shroff, at the Senate Building, University of Peradeniya from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. on normal working days from 19.06.2017 to 10.07.2017. 5) Conditions I. Eligible suppliers (lessor) : The lessor should be vehicle agents who are franchise holders of world renowned vehicles brands available in Sri Lanka, financial institutions registered under the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, and car rental services (i.e Rent a Car Companies) with at least 10 vehicles in the fleet. II. Vehicle Condition : vehicles obtained under this scheme should either be brand new or unregistered vehicles with a mileage less than 1,000 km at the point of hiring III. Services to be provided : The lessor should bear all routine maintenance cost, including expenses on accidental repairs as well as insurance and other related fees. If repairs and maintenance works take more than 24 hours, or in a shorter period as per the requirement of the lessee, the lessor is required to provide a replacement vehicle of similar type. IV. Driver & the fuel cost will be provided by the university. V. Exclusions: Vehicles imported under any Concessionary Permit Schemes of the government cannot be leased out under this scheme. VI. Maximum monthly rental ceiling per car will be Rs.120,000.00 and Maximum monthly rental ceiling per van will be Rs.170,000.00 as per the provisions made in National Budget circular 04/2016 (i) dated 19-10-2016. 6) Payment Method payments will be made monthly by the university of Peradeniya, upon satisfactory reports from the officers using the vehicle. 7) The selected bidder will have to entered in to an agreement with the university of peradeniya. 8) All bids should accompany a bid security of Rs.144,000.00 ( Rupees one hundred fourty four thousand only) for 02 Cars and Rs.204,000.00 ( Rupees Two hundred and four thousand only) for 02 Vans. obtained from a recognized commercial Bank in Sri Lanka addressed to the Vice Chancellor University of Peradeniya, Peradeniya which should valid up to 11.10.2017. (The bidders are required to submit bid security depending on the number of vehicles for which they submit bids) 09) Quotations should be valid for a period of 90 days. 10) The selected contractor should submit a performance Bond Guarantee for a value of 10% of the annual contract sum from a Commercial Bank of Sri Lanka (Insurance bond will not be accepted ) in the name of the Vice Chancellor, University of Peradeniya, Peradeniya valid for a period of 13 months. ( This should be renewed annually until end of contract period) 11) In the event, the contractor fails to supply the service or in breach of any of the terms and condition here in stated, the university reserve the right to en cash the performance bond without any notice to the contractor. 5
