Noise, stress and fatigue all have an effect on operator performance increasing cycle times and the likelihood of mistakes or accidents. We designed the cabs on Cat wheel loaders with the comfort of your operators in mind. Beginning with a large space and a comfortable seat, we built an environment where operators can feel comfortable and alert. We added a cab filtration system and high-quality sound reduction to keep dust and noise from affecting your operators health or productivity. Cab mounts and seat air suppression reduce vibrations. And we focused on visibility, allowing operators a better view of the truck bed or hopper, as well as the areas around their machine. Low-effort ergonomic controls reduce fatigue and increase productivity, and innovative technologies like the STIC control system integrate the steering and transmission for natural and easy-to-learn operation. Caterpillar considers the safety of everyone in, on or around Cat equipment when we build new products or develop enhanced safety features for existing products. Our machines are built from the ground up with safety in mind. Safety begins with the operator in the cab. By offering high visibility, a rearview camera and HID lighting, Cat wheel loaders make it easier for operators to see what s around them, reducing the chance of a collision. Access and egress are improved with two stairwell exits, both of which are well-lit for nighttime entry and exit; as well as powered ladders on some models to reduce the potential for slips, trips and falls. And we ve made it safer for operator training by including an operator training seat, which allows an experienced operator to be present and seated in the cab during any training exercises. 6 We ve also made maintenance safer by grouping service points at ground level, removing the need for ladders or stools during routine maintenance. Diagnostics give you the ability to troubleshoot and monitor machine health information. Additional capabilities even alert the operator to malfunctions or changes in machine systems. The 986H is designed to maximize cost savings with superior fuel efficiency, thanks to its load-sensing hydraulic system and torque converter lock-up clutch. The 994K offers improved performance over previous models, with a 29 percent increase in payload, 28 percent increase in breakout force, 19 percent increase in power and 17 percent increase in rim pull. A 500-hour service interval, high ambient cooling package option and 24-hour fuel option lead to higher availability, while high strength structures and axles deliver long life and durability.
