Step 1: Programing The Control Box 1. Gather the needed tools. Determine the type of garage door opener you have, smart/learn or dip switch. Smart/learn units will have a colored button on the motor unit (Figure A). Dip switch units will have a series of switches (). If you have smart/learn model continue to the next step. If you have a dip switch model skip to step 1A. 2. Find your brand opener in Appendix A and note the number of times to press the button on the control box. 3. Make sure your garage door is closed. Press and hold the program button in the control box until the yellow LED illuminates. (Figure C) Recommended Tools: 1. Small Phillips head driver 2. Small flat heat driver 3. Plastic trim pry tool 4. Scissors Photo A Figure A Figure C 4. Press and release the smart / learn button on the opener motor unit (Figure A). 4 5

5. Select button 1 or button 2 in the control box (Figure A) and press it the number of times shown in Appendix A, making sure the LED stops flashing after each press. The code is accepted when one of the following happens; an audible click, garage door opens, garage light blinks. Press the program button on the control box. Programing is complete. Press the button you selected again to test. Figure A 6 7

Step 1A - For Dip Switch Models 1. Find your brand opener in Appendix B and note the number of times to press the button on the control box. 2. Match the dip switch settings in the control box to those on the opener. Turn extra switches Off, or opposite the ON marking on the switch panel. 3. Make sure your garage door is closed. Press and hold the program button in the control box until the LED illuminates. (Figure A) Figure A 4. Select button 1 or button 2 in the control box () and press it the number of times shown in Appendix B, making sure the LED stops flashing after each press. The code is accepted when the garage door opens. Press the program button on the control box. Programing is complete. Press the chosen button to test. 8 9

Step 2: 1. Move the shift lever to the rearmost position. 2. Use a plastic trim removal tool to detach the trim surrounding the shifter. 3. It may also be possible to grasp the edges of the trim surrounding the shifter, where it meets the shift boot, and pull straight up to detach. 4. Pull it up and out of the way to expose the Torx screws. 5. Using the included T20 Torx bit remove the two screws at the front of the button cluster. Be careful not to let the screws fall into the shifter recess. Set the screws aside in a safe place. 10 11

Step 3: Lift up the front of the button cluster enough to expose the connectors below. Make sure the key is in the off position. 1. Disconnect the ESP and any other button harnesses by depressing the tab on the left side of the connector and pulling downward. Put some downward pressure on the button top while doing so to prevent it from moving upward and possibly dislodging its retaining clips. 2. Detach the harness support if equipped. You may want to pry it loose with a small flat head screw driver. Vehicles with 12V socket on right 1 2 3 Vehicles with 12V socket on left 3. Disconnect the 12v power socket by depressing the tab on the connector and pulling downward. On models with the socket on the left, the tab is on the back side. 4. If equipped disconnect the audio input connector by depressing the tab, circled in yellow, with a small screw driver. 12 3 4 13

Step 4: 1. Pull the center tray assembly up and outward from its recess and set it aside for now. 2. Remove the dash cover inside the passenger door using a trim removal tool. There are push in clips located in the areas marked with the yellow circles in Figure A. 3. Remove the foam cover below the glove compartment. Unscrew the two retaining knobs and gently pull down around the edges. () Figure A Photo A 4. Note the black socket that corresponds with the button on the control module you programed. (Figure C) 5. If you are installing the power harness option REMOVE THE CONTROL BATTERY using the included wooden tool (do not use a metal object.) Figure C 14 15

Step 5: 1. Attach the cover to the control module using the included Phillips head screws. (Figure A) 2. Attach the Dual Lock tabs to the back of the control module as shown in. 3. Route the ends of the wire harnesses with bare wire into the dash opening, towards the back and bottom of the glove compartment. The cables should come out below the dash. Make sure they do not interfere with the glove compartment hinge mechanism. It may help to route them over an existing wire harness as shown in Figure C. Ensure the cables are not rubbing on the sharp edges of the metal dash supports. Figure A Figure A 16 Figure C 17

Step 6: 1. Before removing the backing from the Dual Lock, test fit the module in the dash opening and determine its final location. (Figure A) Make sure there is clearance to connect the power and button harnesses. (Figure C) 2. Remove the backing on the Dual Lock, place the module in its final location and hold in place for 30 seconds. 3. Connect the red power harness connector. Connect the black button harness connector to the socket noted in step 5.4 (Figure C) 4. Route the harnesses above the trim on the left side of the passenger foot well, into the center console opening. (Figure C) Figure A 18 Figure C 19

Step 7: 1. If you re installing the power harness, use the larger Posi-Taps and connect the red wire to the red and black wire on the 12 volt socket harness and the black wire to the brown wire on the 12 volt harness. Take care, connecting these wires incorrectly could damage the Garage Control. Make sure no bare wire is visible outside of the Posi-Tap. Be careful not to drop the Posi- Taps. Figure A 2. Connect the short, bare leads, originating from the orange button connector, to the traction control button wiring harness. Using the pair of smaller Posi-Taps, connect the red wire to the grey wire on the TC button harness and the black wire to the brown wire on the TC button harness. 3. Remove the blank from the desired location in the center tray by pushing it out from the back side (). Insert the Garage Control button. 20 21

Step 8: 1. Reinstall the center tray. Align the back side of the tray with the back of the recess and then reconnect the electrical harnesses. The new orange connector connects to the Garage Control button 2. Carefully lower the tray assembly until it is flush. Test the Garage Control button and re-secure the tray with the original Torx screws. 3. Secure the Garage Control harnesses below the glove compartment using the included zip ties. (Figures A and B) 4. Reinstall the foam cover and the dash end cover and the installation is complete! Figure A 22 23
