Guard Lock Safety-door Switch Two new types added to series: Mechanical-lock models that lock automatically when the Operation Key is inserted, and solenoid-lock models that lock when voltage is applied to the solenoid. The solenoid models lock only when voltage is applied to the solenoid. Metric conduit types available. Rotatable operating head provides four possible key entry slots (horizontal: three directions; vertical: one direction). Incorporates an indicator that shows operation status at a glance. Double-insulation structure requires no ground terminals. (with mark) Conforms to EN (TÜV) standards corresponding to the CE mark. The switch contact is opened by a direct opening mechanism (NC contacts only) when the protective cover is opened. The EN-approved direct opening mechanism is indicated by on the switch. Models with special release key also available. The special release key enables control to be restricted to authorized personnel. Series includes models with gold-plated contacts for handling the micro-load range. Model Number Structure Model Number Legend Switch -####-#-# 1 2 3 4 5 6 1. Precautions Caution Do not dismount the Operation Key from the door intentionally and insert it to the switch with the door open. Machine may start operating and injury or death may be caused. Do not use metal connectors or conduits with this switch. Rigid connectors and conduits may damage the switch. The broken conduit hole may cause an electrical shock hazard. Mounting Be sure to mount the with a stopper as shown in the following illustration. Do not use the Switch as a stopper. Door Change the head direction after inserting the Operation Key or changing the release key to the UNLOCK. Otherwise, the switch may malfunction and injuries may occur due to mis-operation of the device. NOTICE Stopper Operation Key Set zone (0.5 to 3 mm) Switch Mount the Operation Key at a location where it will not come in contact with users when the door is opened or closed. When operating the as a part of a safety category circuit to prevent injury, operate the NC contacts that have a direct opening mechanism in direct opening mode. For safety purposes, tighten the switch body and Operation Key with one-way screws or equivalents or install a switch protection cover and warning label for safety purposes to prevent easy removal of the. Connect the fuse to the in series to prevent it from short-circuit damage. The value of the breaking current of the fuse must be calculated by multiplying rated current by 150% to 200%. When using the with EN ratings, use 10-A fuse Type gi or gg that complies with IEC60269. Do not supply electrical power when wiring. In order to prevent the from burning due to overvoltage, insertion of a protection fuse into the solenoid circuits is recommended. Do not use the where explosive gas, flammable gas, or any other dangerous gas may be present. Make sure that the load current does not exceed the rated current and that the load terminals are wired correctly. Be sure to evaluate the under actual working conditions after installation. Do not drop the. Excessive shock or vibration can cause malfunction or damage to the characteristics. Do not disassemble the internal switch, there are no user-serviceable parts inside. Solenoid Lock Type The solenoid lock locks the door only when power is supplied to the solenoid. Therefore, the door will be unlocked if the power supply to the solenoid fails. Therefore, do not use the solenoid lock type for machines that may be operating and dangerous even after the machine stops operating because of inertia. Life Expectancy The life of the will vary with the switching conditions. Before applying the, test the under actual operating conditions and be sure to use the in actual operation within switching times that will not lower the performance of the. Correct Use Operating Environment The is for indoor use only. Do not use the outdoors. Otherwise, the may malfunction. Do not use the in the following locations: Locations subject to severe temperature changes Locations subject to high temperatures or condensation Locations subject to severe vibration Locations where the product may come in contact with metal dust, oil, or chemicals Release Key The release key is used to unlock the in case of emergency or if the power supply to the fails. Use an appropriate tool to set the release key to UNLOCK so that the lock will be released and the door can be opened. The release key is set at the UNLOCK. Set the release key to the LOCK before use. Mechanical Lock Type Operation Key Be sure to use a special Operation Key only. Do not operate the with anything other than the special Operation Key. Otherwise, the safety of the system may not be maintained. Do not impose excessive force on the Operation Key inserted into the or drop the with the Operation Key inserted. Otherwise, the Operation Key may be deformed or broken. Force imposed Release key LOCK UNLOCK The release key applied to the door of a machine room ensures the safety of people adjusting the equipment in the machine room. If the release key is set to UNLOCK, the door will not be locked when the door is closed and no power will be supplied to the equipment. Do not use the release key to start or stop machines. To prevent the release key from being used carelessly by unauthorized people, set the release key of the in normal operation to UNLOCK and seal the release key with seal wax. Drop D-133

Securing the Door If the Operation Key on the closed door is pulled beyond the lock by a force caused by vibration, the door s weight, or the door cushion rubber, the may be damaged. If a load is applied to the Operation Key, the door may fail to unlock. Do not use the casing of the as a locking mechanism for the door in such cases and be sure to prepare a special lock within the lock range of the (i.e., 0.5 to 3 mm). Tightening Torque Be sure to tighten each screw of the properly, otherwise the may malfunction. (3) (5) (4) (1) (7) (6) (2) Mounting Refer to page D-131 for the mounting dimensions of the Operation Key. Be sure that the Operation Key can be inserted properly with a tolerance of ±1 mm in the upward, downward, left, or right direction, otherwise the may be damaged. ±1 min. ±1 min.
