ILFS 48 and ILP 48 install: (800 mm-31 1/2 " arm length) F min = 21.5" - F max = 29" Minimum ground clearance = 11 1/2" Maximum ground clearance = 21.5" ( never exceed max) 50.02" 24.83" F Make sure that when hanging the lift these two areas are making full contact on both sides (Make sure that the two on the bottom are tack welded together) If you like you can weld the top points as well 20.99" 1 2 3 Preset incline of platform approx 2" 4 2" 4 1. Detemine the correct frame cut out according to your specific bed height and amount of overhang on truck. Use reference pictures to help you determine this. 2. Install bed extension to the rear sill of truck use approximately 30% 3/16 weld, make sure to weld the bottom of extension as well. 3. Attach the platform to the liftarm and swing in mountframe under the truck, space the platform approximately 3/16" out from bed extension. Pre-set the incline of the platform 4. Use a come-along or a floor jack to raise the mountframe to the correct location, When you have reached the correct F-dim go ahead and rotate the rear bumper (ILFS) or the folding wheel brace (ILP) until the 4 points under platform and mountframe are in contact. Again make sure to take the pre-set in concideration.
Min 8 " 5. Install the 2 mount plates, make sure you have a min. of 8" overlap on the truck frame. Use a min. of 6 ea. 1 " long 3/16 tack welds, 3 to the round tube and 3 to the frame. Weld the lift in place. 6. Remove your floor jacks and lower the platform with the fork lift until it rests on the hydraulics of the cylinders. 7. Hook up the battery cable to truck or to a temporary jumper battery (Refer to electrical installation section in this manual) 8. Test the lift to make sure that it is aligned correctly. Min 8 " 9 WARNING! Be very careful and do not power the lift against the bed extension since it is only tacked in place 9. Finish up the welding of the lift, use 100% weld 1/4". Make sure to install the 2 bottom mount plate reinforcements gussets.
Min 8 " 100% 1/4" weld 10. Remove the tack welds or bolts under the mount frame, this allow for the platform to pivot down when the platform clevis area has reached the ground if the operator continues to push the down switch. 12 11. Adjust sliding bumper so the platform is approximately 5 to 10 degree in from vertical when resting against the wheel. Weld bumper with 3/16" weld 100%. 12. Cap off the diagonal cut out of the truck frame Make sure to tie the frame together with the bedextension 13. Install switch at rear corner post. 14. If you are installing an optional hand held remote (ILP only). Tie in the switch on the harness at the power pack or tie in to the back of the switch on certain models. 15. Weld the optional dock bumpers in place. (the picture is showing the heavy -duty version with a step.)
ELECTRICAL AND HYDRAULIC INSTALLATION When performing electrical and hydraulic installation, please be certain to install and secure everything in a way where it is not subject to damage from moving parts, sharp edges, exhaust systems, etc. 1. Determine location for fixed toggle switch on corner post or inside rail locate it in a way that the operator can view the platform and surrounding areas while operating the liftgate. 2. Install the battery cable between power pack and battery. Also, install the two 10 gauge wires for the control power to the batteries. Blue to positive with an in-line fuse at the battery, brown to negative. Connect the power cable for the gate to the positive terminal on the battery. Secure the cable ever 12 inches against the frame with frame clips. Never secure cable in a way where it can make contact with other wiring, brake fuel or airlines etc or get pinched against other objects. 3. Inspect and test all electrical connections, wiring and the different functions to make sure that the electrical installation is complete. To do so, you have to connect the ground cable and control power connector again. LOCATE EXISTING WIRE ON GATE FOR REMOTE CONTROL: 1. Find hot wire & touch hot wire to other wires. 2. Note Function and match below. 2 Button Hand Control UP - 5 - RED DOWN - 6 - YELLOW 12V HOT - 4 - GREEN

SERVICE BULLETIN FORD F TYPE CHASSIE FORD FACTORY TERMINAL ON POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE BATTERY POST. SOME TRUCKS HAVE A TERMINAL MADE OF STAMPED SHEET METAL AND DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH ROOM FOR LIFTGATE CABLE LUG. THESE TERMINALS MUST BE CHANGED TO A MARINE TYPE TERMINAL (VELVAC P/N 058019). IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO CHECK GROUND CABLE FROM BATTERY. IF GROUND CABLE IS ATTACHED TO MOTOR, THEN, A SEPARATE GROUND CABLE MUST BE ADDED TO TRUCK FRAME.
