Introduction: The blueprint Link module works with the blueprint Central controller to provide access to a broad range of vehicle data, some of which includes speed, service brakes, doors, transmission range, head lamps and door locks. By incorporating the blueprint Link module into the vehicle, splicing into the vehicle s wiring can be greatly reduced or eliminated entirely. To configure the system, our new blueprint3 app must be used, this app was developed specifically for use with the blueprint Link module. In addition, the following hardware must have the listed minimum versions of firmware installed before sending any configuration files to the central. Central: 3.01 Control Panel Console/Remote: 2.16 Control Panel Handheld: 2.14 Control Panel Remote Rotary: 1.08 Remote Node: 1.40 WARNING HIGH CURRENT interconnects must be properly terminated. Poor crimp quality can cause heat build-up and fire. Follow crimp connector manufacturer instructions. DO NOT install this product or route any wires in the Air Bag Deployment Zone. Refer to vehicle Owner s Manual for deployment zones. Do NOT use system to disconnect headlights, brake lights or other safety equipment. Unit may become hot to touch during normal operation. Failure to properly install connectors, fuses or wiring may cause vehicle failure or fire. Installation must only be performed by trained technician. Installer must determine vehicle wiring configuration and proper integration of system. Use proper wire gauge. All power wires connecting to positive (+) or negative (-) battery terminal or local chassis ground (-) must be sized to supply at least 125% of max. current and properly fused at power source. Install protective grommets when routing wire through firewall or metal. 1 Part# ENGLNK001 ENGLNK002 ENGLNK003 ENGLNK004 ENGLNK005 ENGLNK006 ENGLNK007 ENGLNK008 Description for Ford E-Series and E-350 Super Duty Vans (2009-2017); F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 (2011-2016), PI Sedan (2013-2017); PI Utility (2013-2015), Expedition (2015-2017) for Ford F-150 (2015-2018); PI Utility (2016-2018); Explorer (2016-2017); F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 (2017) for Ford Transit Van (2015-2017) and Escape (2016-2017) for Chevrolet Express & GMC Savana Vans 2008-2017; Tahoe (2014-2017); Silverado & Sierra Pickup Truck (2014-2017); Suburban & Yukon (2015-2017) for Dodge Charger Pursuit (2015-2017) for RAM 2500, 3500, 4500, 5500 Pickup Trucks (2013-2017) for Dodge Charger Pursuit (2018) for RAM 2500, 3500, 4500, 5500 Pickup Trucks (2018 )

Installation Instructions ** Disconnect battery prior to installation. Vehicle diagnostic codes may occur if battery is not disconnected.** Link Module Locating: 1. Remove the lower dash panel below the steering column area and find a suitable location to mount the blueprint Link module. Locate the module in an area away from any high heat sources (engine heat, heater ducts, etc.) Do not mount the module until all wire harnesses are routed and secure. The last step of the installation is to mount the module. 2. The provided vehicle to blueprint Link harness is vehicle specific. Ensure the correct kit is being used for the vehicle. 3. Use one of the two methods below to connect the blueprint Link module to your vehicle. Connecting to Vehicle Data Bus: OBDII Connector Version 1. Locate the vehicle s OBDII data link connector. It will be located below the lower left dash panel. 2. Remove the OEM data link connector, and mate it to the blueprint Link harnesses red connector. Ensure the connection is fully seated and secured with the supplied wire tie. 3. Mount the pass-through OBDII connector from the blueprint Link harness in the former location of the vehicle s OBDII connector. 4. Secure the blueprint Link harness so that it does not hang below the lower dash panel. NOTE: Do NOT plug the 6-pin connector into the blueprint Link module, this will be done at a later step. Gateway Version (Pictures on the following pages.) 1. Locate the vehicle s gateway module. It may be molded into the back of the OBDII connector. 2. Remove the harness at the gateway module by pressing the locking tab and pulling outward. Removing the gateway module from the vehicle may aid in this process. 3. Plug the male side of the blueprint Link module harness into the gateway module. Ensure the connection is fully seated and secured by the locking tab. 4. Plug the female side of the blueprint Link harness into the connector removed from the gateway. 5. Secure the gateway harness so that it does not hang below the lower dash panel. NOTE: Do NOT plug the 6-pin connector into the blueprint Link module, this will be done at a later step. **Reconect Battery** 2

Installation Instructions (Cont.) Initial Power-Up: When the blueprint Link module is first plugged in, it attempts to acquire the vehicles VIN to interpret vehicle data on the CAN network. The key must be in the run position for CAN network traffic to be present (engine off is OK.) 1. Turn the ignition switch to the run position. 2. Plug the 6-pin data link connector into the blueprint Link module. blueprint Link module LEDs scroll LED4 will go on, when the vehicle is in park and the blueprint Link module is plugged in blueprint Link has NOT acquired a recognized VIN The module is communicating with the vehicle data bus TROUBLESHOOTING Ensure the kit installed is correct for the year, make and model of the vehicle Ensure all connectors are fully seated No failure. Proceed to post installation testing. Post Installation Testing: Ensure the ignition is on and the CAN bus is awake. With most vehicles, the CAN bus will go to sleep (stop sending data) if the engine is off and there is no state change in any of the CAN parameters after about 10 minutes. The amount of time before the CAN bus goes to sleep varies by vehicle manufacturer. If the blueprint Link module is unresponsive, insure the CAN bus is awake by tapping the brake pedal or cycling the ignition off then on. The blueprint Link module has a configuration that will show the state of certain vehicle parameters. These parameters are mapped to LEDs 1 8 on the blueprint Link module. LEDs 9 and 10 are not used. Parameters are mapped to the LEDs as indicated in the chart to the right. EXAMPLE: Press the service brake, LED1 will go on, release the service brake, LED1 will go off. Open the driver s front door, LED2 will go on, close the door, LED2 will go off. If these and the remaining parameters are responding, the blueprint Link module is able to de-code the CAN parameters for the associated vehicle. to Central Connection Connect the 4-pin connector of the S-H32L1 cable to the blueprint Link module and the RJ45 connector of the same cable to the control panel (CP) port on the central. A splitter will be necessary if a Control Panel will also be installed. blueprint Link to Central Testing Once the proper power and ground connections are made to the central, live vehicle data can be viewed from within the blueprint3 app. Live data can be viewed by performing the following steps: 1. Turn ignition on. 2. Connect the laptop to the Central via USB cable. 3. Launch blueprint3 app. 4. Select the diagnostics icon: 5. Select the Diagnostics icon in the lower left corner of the screen: 6. You will now see a window showing the status of the various parameters from the vehicles data bus. 7. If a parameter is grayed out, it either is not a valid parameter or the data is not valid. The available vehicle CAN parameters can now be mapped using the blueprint3 app. Mounting: The blueprint Link module can now be permanently mounted insuring all harnesses are secured and not hanging below the dash. Insure the mounting location does not interfere with any air bag deployment zones. 7
