THE PLANTS Argo Tractors manufactures its products in four locations in Italy. All tractor ranges of the Landini, McCormick and Valpadana brands are produced at the plants in Fabbrico, San Martino in Rio and Luzzara, in the province of Reggio Emilia. In addition to these production facilities, Argo Tractors also boasts a modern and efficient spare parts centre in San Martino in Rio, which distributes Landini and Valpadana parts in Italy and abroad, and a McCormick world-wide parts distribution centre in France. Argo Tractors is present throughout the world with eight branch offices and 130 foreign importers. In Italy, the Argo Tractors products are distributed throughout the country through a network of 200 dealers, which provide a competent and professional support. Through the Landini, McCormick and Valpadana brands, ArgoTractors has established an extensive network of relationships in the most diverse agricultural areas and developed the expertise to produce agricultural machines suiting a variety of conditions and situations to better respond to market needs. Argo Tractors is a company of the Argo Group established in 2006 with the intention of creating a global tractor manufacturing hub. With 22,000 tractors manufactured and marketed under the Landini, McCormick and Valpadana brands, Argo Tractors is today one of the western world s leading players. True to the philosophy of the Argo Group, Argo Tractors s activities are based on a close integration of the manufacturing and marketing strategies which links in a univocal and linear manner the various business functions: sales, R&D, engineering, purchasing, logistics, pre- and after-sales service. The production is based on the synergy between four plants, each of which dedicated to a specific product line, and two after-sales service centres based in Italy and France. The R&D and engineering divisions are located at the main headquarters in Fabbrico (Reggio Emilia). All factory areas are equipped with quality control facilities designed to ensure qualitative excellence at all stages of the production process. Today, with the Landini, McCormick and Valpadana tractors, Argo Tractors is present in Europe and world-wide with one of the most comprehensive product ranges on the market, comprising 3-, 4- and 6-cylinder tractor families in the power range from 25 to over 230 hp for a variety of open-field, vineyard and orchard applications, including crawler, utility and equal-wheeled tractors. 1809 Feb 15, Cyrus Hall McCormick is born in Rockbridge County, Virginia, U.S.A. 1831 Young Cyrus redesigns, builds and tests a reaper taking over a project on which his father had worked for many years without success. The reaper is successfully demonstrated at Steeles Tavern and patented in 1834. 1847 Cyrus forms a partnership with C.M. Gray and establishes a factory on the north bank of the Chicago river. 500 reapers are constructed for the 1848 harvest. 1851 McCormick reaper wins the Grand Council Medal at The Great Exhibition at the Crystal Palace, London. Over the next several years McCormick s reaper wins major awards all over Europe. 1871 Great Chicago fire destroys the McCormick reaper works. In August 1872 ground is broken for a new factory which is completed in February 1873. 1884 May 13, Cyrus Hall McCormick dies. His wife Nettie and his brother Leander carry on the business activity. 1900 McCormick Harvesting Co. sets up a general agency office in London. 1902 International Harvester Company is set up. Cyrus H. McCormick (Jnr) is appointed as President. 1905 IHC builds its first plant in Europe at Norrkoping in Sweden to manufacture implements. 1906 IHC unveils its first tractor with power rating between 10 and 20 hp. International Harvester Company of Great Britain Ltd, with offices in London, inaugurates on 31st December. Between 1906 and 1939 IH GB works mainly as an import company. 1908 629 tractors are produced under the International Harvestar name. International Harvester expands with the building of two factories, one at Neuss, Germany (1907) and the other at Croix, France. 1911 The Neuss factory starts the production of implements, such as mowers, tedders, rakes and fertilizer spreaders, under the McCormick name. 1914 International Harvester markets its first combine harvesterthresher named McCormick Deering No 1. 1928 First combine appears in Great Britain. It is a pull-type combine named McCormick Deering No. 8. 1937 International Harvester starts tractor production in Germany. First F 12 series tractor with 12 to 15 hp rolls off the assembly line. Between 1937 and 1940, 3973 units of the F 12 family are produced. 1938 IH GB purchases Wheatley Hall site, now global headquarters for McCormick operations, from Doncaster Borough Council. The construction of a new factory building on the site is inte rupted by the outbreak of Second World War. 1946 The Neuss factory is rebuilt and reaches a daily production of 50 tractors. Implement production begins at the Doncaster factory. 1949 Tractor production commences at Doncaster. First McCormick Farmall M tractor, serial no 1001, rolls off the line on September 13. 1950 International Harvester France decides to build tractors and purchases a site at St Dizier, in the Haute-Marne province, 250km east of Paris. Today, all transmissions for McCormick conventional tractors are manufactured at this facility. 1951 Tractor production starts at St Dizier with the assembly of the Farmall model FC. Production of McCormick International BM tractors begins at Doncaster. 1952 Decision is made that IH GB should enter the construction equipment market and production of BTD-6 crawler is started. 1954 IH GB acquires the old car works at Idle, Bradford, and commences production of the McCormick International B 250 tractor, rated at 30hp. This is Britain s first tractor incorporating disc brakes and differential locking.

1968 IH GB launches the McCormick International B-634 tractor. This is the last tractor produced in Britain with the McCormick name. Production will cease in 1972. 1970 First tractor of the World Wide range rolls off the line. These are Europe s first tractors to incorporate synchromesh transmissions with the option of hydrostatic transmissions. 1972 The last tractor off the Neuss assembly line to carry the McCormick name is a McCormick 624. 1978 IH GB launches the 84 series tractor range. 1985 Tenneco, owner of Case and David Brown brands purchases some assets of International Harvester s Agricultural Division. All products from this division are rebranded as Case International. 1994 New Doncaster built tractor range, the 3200/4200 series, is introduced. 1997 The new CX tractor series are introduced and built at Doncaster. 1998 Doncaster plant starts to build Maxxum MXC models in February. 1999 Case merges with New Holland. The new company is named CNH. EU regulatory authorities rubber stamp merger, providing CNH divest itself of the Doncaster plant and the C, CX and MXC tractors it produces, along with the engineering know-how of the MX Maxxum range. 2000 The plant is purchased by Argo S.p.A of Italy and the Doncaster facility becomes the global headquarters for McCormick Tractors International Ltd. Products from Doncaster will be sold worldwide under the McCormick brand name. 2001 McCormick Tractors International Ltd. starts activity in January and in February exhibits its tractors for the first time at SIMA exhibition in Paris. CNH sells the St. Dizier facility to Argo Group. This now becomes the head office of McCormick France and the general headquarters for commercial and production operations in France. 2002 New products are launched confirming the confidence and entrepreneurial style of the new management. The MC 115, the MTX series with 110 to 175 hp, the Power6 and the MTX200 tractors roll off the Doncaster assembly lines. 2003 With the ZTX series McCormick enters the 230-280 hp market segment, confirming its commitment to becoming a global player and to enhancing the brand name with unique products manufactured to the highest quality standards. 2005 The new XTX range is launched. 2006 McCormick s range of specialty tractors is updated with the new F-N (narrow orchard) and V (vineyard) series. To celebrate 60 years of production at the Doncaster facility, McCormick launches the Diamond Edition, a limited run of only 120 tractors. 2007 New TTX and CX tractor series are introduced. McCormick tractor production is moved to the Fabbrico plant, in Italy, which has been recently enlarged and fully modernised. 2008 The launch of the MTX series completes the development of McCormick s high-end tractor range. 2010 Launching of the new X60 Series with power ratings from 90 to 120 HP. 2011 Launching of the new X70 Series with Tier 4 Interim engines. 2012 The X50 and X50m Tier 4 Interim Series are launched. These models introduce the new body design that will be rolled out across all future McCormick tractor ranges. 2013 The X7, X6 and X4 Tier4 Interim series are launched. All these models feature the same body design as introduced on the X50 and X50m series in 2012. 2014 Launching of the new CVT continuously variable transmissions on the X7 and X6 Series (VT-Drive models). Launching of X6 LWB and X5 tractor families. McCormick: quality and innovation in the furrow of tradition It all began in Virginia, USA, in 1809 with the birth of a man: Cyrus Hall McCormick. A keen inventor, Cyrus McCormick not only ushered in the era of mechanized farming, but also pioneered in the fields of engineering, business management and finance. He invested huge resources in the construction of plants and introduced innovative business and marketing techniques; but, most importantly, he stunned the agricultural world with inventions that could mechanize the farm work. Amongst other things, he invented the first mechanical reaper in 1831. When Cyrus McCormick died in 1884, his legacy lived on through his wife Nettie and his brother Leander, under whose leadership the family company continued to grow and expand. In 1949, the first tractor, a McCormick Farmall M., rolled off the Doncaster assembly line. Many years later the transmission production plant in Saint Dizier and the tractor production plant in Doncaster were purchased by the Argo Industrial Group, which relaunched the McCormick brand as McCormick Tractors International Limited. Today, the McCormick tractors still reflect the values which made this brand a world-beater. The McCormick name epitomises quality, craftsmanship and innovative design and has become a reference for tractor manufacturers throughout the world, especially in Anglo-Saxon countries. Based on advanced technologies, the latest generation of McCormick tractors offers enhanced reliability and performance, holding true to the values and principles that have made McCormick a world leader in tractor manufacturing. X7.6 Tier 4 Interim Sporting a modern hood and cab design with a stylish and aggressive look, a new Pro Drive transmission and proven Betapower engines, the new McCormick X7.6 is ready to meet the challenges of today s increasingly competitive agricultural economy. The range comprises four models the X7.650, X7.660, X7.670 and X7.680 powered by the new Betapower Fuel Efficiency 6.7L, 24-valve, six-cylinder turbo engines with common rail injection system. These engines meet Tier 4 Interim emission regulations using the SCR system, an exhaust gas after-treatment technology that reduces exhaust emission without compromising engine performance. The X7.6 inherits from its predecessors the rugged chassis which supports the engine, helping to effectively reduce noise and vibration levels within the cab. The Pro Drive transmission with 24 speeds in six ranges offers a four-speed on-the-go powershift and incorporates an electro-hydraulic range shifting and a steering-column mounted hydraulic power shuttle. The gearbox is controlled electronically via pushbuttons located on the multi-function armrest of the air suspension seat. A creep speed unit is available as standard to provide 40 forward and 40 reverse speeds. The electro-hydraulically engaged rear PTO features an exchangeable shaft with 6 or 21 splines and offers four speeds 540/540E/1000/1000E rpm. All four models feature as standard a closed-centre hydraulic system with up to seven electro-hydraulic remote valves and a variable-displacement pump with a flow rate of 123 l/min, while the EFFICIENT version of the X7.650 and X7.660 models has an open-centre hydraulic system with up to six mechanical remote valves and a flow rate of 88 l/min. The electronically-controlled rear hitch with draft sensing on the lower links provides a maximum lift capacity of 9300 Kg and allows a precise control of the implement. True versatility can be obtained with a front hitch capable of lifting up to 3500 Kg and a front PTO. The front axle, either rigid-mounted or with electronicallycontrolled independent suspensions, offers a 55 steering angle, providing excellent manoeuvrability in confined spaces. The Premiere Cab is a true hi-tech lounge designed to offer the operator a functional and ergonomic environment with logicallyarranged controls for maximum comfort and ease of operation. The interior features a high-quality, automotive-grade fit and finish that further enhances the operator comfort. With power ratings from 143 to 175 hp, these tractors offer the ultimate in style, technology and productivity. The range comprises three models the X7.440, X7.450 and X7.460 all powered by the new Betapower Fuel Efficiency 4.5L, 16-valve, four-cylinder turbo engines with common rail injection system. These engines meet Tier 4 Interim emission regulations using the SCR system, an exhaust gas aftertreatment technology that reduces exhaust emission without compromising engine performance. X7.4 Tier 4 Interim The Pro Drive transmission with 24 speeds in six ranges offers a four-speed on-the-go powershift and incorporates an electro-hydraulic range shifting and a steering-column mounted hydraulic power shuttle. The gearbox is controlled electronically via pushbuttons located on the multi-function armrest of the air suspension seat and features an Autoshift option, ideal for road transport. A creep speed unit is available as standard to provide 40 forward and 40 reverse speeds. The electro-hydraulically engaged rear PTO features an exchangeable shaft with 6 or 21 splines and provides four speeds 540/540E/1000/1000E rpm. The electronic control of the PTO always ensures smooth and modulated implement start-up. A closed-centre hydraulic system with up to seven electro-hydraulic remote valves and a variable-displacement pump with a flow rate of 123 l/min is standard on all three models, while an open-centre hydraulic system with up to six mechanical remote valves and a flow rate of 88 l/min is supplied on the EFFICIENT version. T The T / T-F / T-M series has been completely revamped with technical upgrades and a restyling that significantly improves the operator s comfort. After adopting a new, attractivelydesigned tilt-up hood with integrated headlights and the new Perkins 1104D series 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated and turbo Tier 3 engines with high torque rise and power up to 100hp, the T / T-F / T-M series now brings new levels of comfort and productivity to crawler tractors. The driving position has been redesigned with a new, more comfortable seat and all control levers and pedals have been rearranged in a more ergonomic fashion for added comfort and ease of operation.
