GENERAL CARE AND MAINTENANCE By choosing an ARB Bar, you have bought a product that is one of the most sought after 4WD products in the world. Your bar is a properly engineered, reliable, quality accessory that represents excellent value. To keep your bar in original condition it is important to care and maintain it following these recommendations: Prior to exposure to the weather your bar should be treated to a Canuba based polish on all exposed surfaces. It is recommended that this is performed on a six monthly basis or following exposure to salt, mud, sand or other contaminants. As part of any Pre Trip Preparation, or on an annual basis, it is recommended that a thorough visual inspection of the bar is carried out, making sure that all bolts and other components are torqued to the correct specification. Also check that all wiring sheaths, connectors, and fittings are free of damage. Replace any components as necessary. This service can be performed by your local authorized ARB Stockist. FITTING PROCEDURE PREPARATION TO VEHICLE 1. Remove grille from vehicle using Torxkeys. 2. Remove bumper from vehicle and remove all lights and the wiring loom from bumper. Be careful when removing bumper from the flares as the plastic clips are awkward to undo. 3. When bumper is removed, cut the lower plastic lug from grille panel to enable bull bar mounting system to bolt up against vehicle crossmember. Place either thick cardboard or plywood either side of lug to prevent paint damage. 4. This is how the grille panel should appear after cutting. 5. Remove tow hook and crush cans from vehicle. 6. Cut the lower section off the vehicle flares. 7. Mark a datum point by drawing a horizontal line under the rivet inside the inner guard. (Photo shows RHS of vehicle). Last Rev Date: 12/09/2014 Page 4 of 17 Fitting instructions# 3789229

PREPARATION TO VEHICLE (Continued) 8. Mark a second datum point where the pencil is pointing, then using masking tape join the two datum points together making sure you have a level line. 9. Using a keyhole saw, carefully cut below the tape line. Carefully remove sharp edges and burrs using fine file/sandpaper or similar. 10. Photo shows a finished cut flare. 11. The vehicle is now ready to fit the mounting system and the bull bar. (Grille and bumper removed, flares and grille lug cut). Last Rev Date: 12/09/2014 Page 5 of 17 Fitting instructions# 3789229

PREPARATION TO VEHICLE (Continued) 12. To fit the mounting system to the vehicle, fit the captive nut channel in through the front apertures in the vehicle crossmember on both sides. Note: (Notch in channel must face front of vehicle) 13. When both channels are inside the crossmember, using your finger, align with the holes underneath the chassis rails. 14. Fit mounting system to front crossmember of vehicle and centralize sideways. 15. Fit 10mm hardware to the two most forward holes in the lower brackets, on both sides of the vehicle making sure mounting system is hard up against vehicle crossmember. Tighten firmly. Note: Photo shows underside of mounting system on LHS of vehicle. 16. Using 10mm drill bit, drill out the holes in the centre of the slots in the front of the crossmember. Last Rev Date: 12/09/2014 Page 6 of 17 Fitting instructions# 3789229

PREPARATION TO VEHCILE (Continued) 17. Once the holes have been drilled, fit captive nut channels through the lower aperture in the vehicle crossmember. 18. Secure using 10mm hardware and tighten firmly making sure mounting system is hard against vehicle crossmember. Note: When Step 20 is finished, slacken off bolt tension to enable sideways movement if needed when bar is fitted. 19. When the front bolts are tightened, loosen off the lower bolts in the chassis brackets. 20. Using a 10mm drill bit, drill out the most rearward hole in the lower chassis bracket being careful not to drill too far into captive nut channel. When the holes have been drilled, realign the rear hole with the rear nut in captive nut channel, and secure using 10mm hardware. Lightly tighten all bolts in the lower chassis brackets. NOTE: MOUNTING SYSTEM MUST BE ABLE TO BE MOVED SIDWAYS. Last Rev Date: 12/09/2014 Page 7 of 17 Fitting instructions# 3789229

PREPARATION TO VEHICLE (Continued) 21. Refit vehicle loom to mounting system using cable ties and plug back into connector body. 22. Connect the LED indicator/clearance harnesses to the vehicle using the wiring looms (6821286) and scotch locks provided in the LED indicator/clearance kit (6821287). Connect vehicle RH indicator wire to Green wire on LED loom. Connect vehicle RH parker wire to Red wire on LED loom Connect vehicle ground wire to Black wire on LED loom. Repeat for LH of vehicle. 23. Allow the LED Looms (6821286) to hang freely for connecting to the bull bar LED s at Step 48. 24. Optional Fog Lamp fitment: For vehicles with Factory Fog lamps: Connect RH & LH Fog Lamp wiring using 3500640-ARB Aux fog light adaptor and connect to Factory Fog Lamp loom. For vehicles without Factory Fog lamps: Connect RH & LH Fog Lamp wiring using Fog Lamp Wiring Loom kit 3500530. 25. Allow the Fog Light looms to hang freely for connection to the bull bar Fog Lights at Step 49. Last Rev Date: 12/09/2014 Page 8 of 17 Fitting instructions# 3789229

PREPARATION TO BULL BAR 26. Install Nylon plugs (6821116). (4 off) Into Clearance Light/Turn Signal Brackets. (RH Shown). 27. Install 6821285 bracket onto LED lamp with 2 x flat washer, 2 x spring washers and 2 x M6 nuts as shown. Torque to specification. M6-3 Nm. NOTE: Do not over-tighten. 28. Install LED lamp with bracket into bullbar using 2 x 15mm mounting screws provided. (RH Shown). Note: Do not fully tighten. IMPORTANT: The clearance LEDs must be on the outboard edge of the bull-bar. To achieve this, position lamp with arrows facing outside of vehicle as shown below. ADJUST GAPS TO BE THE SAME 29. Viewing the installed LED Lamps from the front of the bull bar adjust the Lamp positions so that they are central in the formed apertures and any gap on either side is the same. - Once adjusted fully tighten the 15mm mounting screws.
