Specific on standard processes fitted The ZE Performance series is exclusively equipped with in-house developed KraussMaffei Berstorff screw elements, ZE Performance housing elements Solid barrel housings, 8 D and 10D which ensure excellent material quality at unparalleled productivity. The processing section is of modular design and can be specifically tailored in terms of throughput rate and application. The ZE Performance barrel housings are designed for maximum durability and are perfectly suited for the entire range of standard compounding tasks. Four machine sizes of different design with an L/D ratio of 4, 8, 10 or 12 are available for optimum adaptation to the given application. All barrel housings are characterized by precise temperature control with heating/cooling bores being arranged extremely close to the processing chamber. While cooling is based on cooling water injection, high-performance electric cartridge heaters are used for heating. This combination ensures extremely stable process conditions. The C-clamp flange system facilitates assembly and disassembly of the barrel housings and substantially reduces set-up times during barrel housing changes. All models of the ZE Performance series are equipped with air-cooled motors for 900 rpm screw speed. A range of specially tailored upstream and downstream systems like various metering and pelletizing units turn the twin-screw extruder into a complete production line. Simple machine operation The ZE Performance series is controlled by means of a KraussMaffei Berstorff operating software. The user interface shows the current status of the twin-screw extruder in a clearly structured and easily comprehensible manner. In addition, production-relevant parameters of various peripheral systems and downstream equipment, for instance, can also be displayed. Graphical animations provide information on faults, trend data and recipe management. Intuitive operator guidance eliminates the need for long training periods.
