S1 SEN / PR / IMM / 001 Plant Room Sensors Immersion Temperature Sensor IP65 rated Measures the temperature of liquids in pipework and vessels. Direct mounting into a brass or stainless steel pocket (separately available as an accessory). Dimensions: 57mm x 90mm diameter IP rated 67 Ambient: -10 to 60 Connection: 2 way terminal block, Houses sensor Dimensions: 150mm x 6mm diameter Material: Brass If the sensor is to be mounted outside, it is recommended that the unit be mounted with the cable entry at the bottom. In addition, if the cable is fed from above the sensor we also recommend that a rain loop is placed in the cable before entry into the sensor. Remove the front cover by twisting the lid and separating from the main body to make the electrical connections. Fix the sensor in to the pocket and secure with the grub screw provided with the pocket. Feed the cable through the waterproof gland and terminate the cores at the terminal block. Leave some slack inside the unit, tighten the cable gland onto the cable to ensure watertightness. Replace the lid after the electrical connections have been made. Leaving some slack inside the units, tighten the cable glands onto the cables to ensure watertightness. A neoprene gasket is supplied to ensure a good seal onto the duct. Feed the cable through the waterproof gland and terminate the cores at the terminal block. Leaving some slack inside the units, tighten the cable gland onto the cable to ensure watertightness. Sensor Installation S1 Wiring Guidelines Sensor cabling should be to the same specification as per the SeaChange Network - Unscreened, Twisted pair Belden 8205. Use twisted pair, unscreened cable for all sensor wiring (and input wiring - e.g. from contactor auxiliaries, flow switches etc). Use this cable for the entire run from the SeaChange input terminals to the sensor. Recommended maximum cable length 100m. Do not use single conductors, even for short runs in the panel; an electrical panel is often a noisy electrical environment. If already installed, Screened twisted pair cables can sometimes be re-used for sensors without detriment provided the screen is continuous and properly earthed at one point only. Do not use screened cables on new installations. New installations should always use the correct Unscreened, Twisted pair cable. Sensors should be of the insulated type and not earthed. There is no particular requirement to segregate from Mains wiring, but prudent installers will always avoid long, parallel runs. Inputs All inputs to SeaChange modules are Non-Isolated; this means that you must not connect inputs from different controllers together, or connect inputs to 0V or earth, or any other potential.
