The electronically controlled coil offers multiple benefits over conventional alternatives, and together with ABB's wide product offering an optimal configuration, every time. AF Technology Benefits Simplify design By reducing contactor coil energy consumption by up to 80%, panels can be built smaller and transformers more compact. All the features of the AF technology, along with access to drawings and coordination tables online, simplifies your design and assembly process. Secure uptime Time to prevent stoppages caused by voltage fluctuations. The AF contactor ensures distinct operation in unstable networks and signifies a major advance in motor control and power switching. Voltage sags, dips and surges pose no threat. The AF contactor secures your uptime. Reliable in all networks The electronic system within the AF contactor rectifies the AC DC control circuit voltage to a DC control voltage that is applied on the coil. The contactor is safely operated in an always optimised condition making it virtually noise free. Four coils for the entire voltage range The AF contactor features both AC and DC support. With the complete AF contactor range, functionality is improved. Still, the total number of product variants compared to a conventional range is reduced by 90%. TM AF technology benefits continued Built-in surge supression With conventional contactor technology it is recommended to use an external surge suppressor, an accessory that could cost as much as half the contactor itself. With the AF technology the surges are handled by the contactor itself and the surge never reaches the control circuit. Neither the surge sup pressor nor the actual surge has to be considered anymore. One less product and one less complication to worry about. The AF contactor is flexible AF09...AF370 is perfect for motor starting applications and for solutions where space is limited. Interlocked reversing pairs require no spacing between contactors meaning you can fit more functionality into cabinets or other small enclosures. The AF contactor is compact The AF contactor is compact in size and has had its width reduced by up to 30% thanks to an 80% reduction of the coil's energy consumption.

Contactors AF09... AF38 3-pole contactors 4 to 8.5 kw, AC/DC operated AF09-AF98 contactors are mainly used for controlling 3-phase motors and power circuits up to 690 V AC and 220 V DC. These contactors are of the block type design with 3 main poles. Features Contactors AF09-AF96- Control circuit: AC or DC operated with electronic coil interface accepting a wide control voltage range (e.g. 00...250 V AC and DC), only 4 control voltage ranges covering 24...500 V 50/60 Hz and 20...500 V DC - can manage large control voltage variations - reduced panel energy consumption - very distinct closing and opening. Two different signaling contacts are available. The accessories can be fitted wiring free and without tools. A variety of combinations is possible as required for the application. The auxiliary contacts change position with the main contacts. The signaling contact SK signals tripping regardless if it was caused by short-circuit or overload. TM TVOC-2 Arc Guard System TM Arc Monitor With its modular concept, the Arc Monitor is designed to fit all types and sizes of low and medium voltage switchgears. It is designed according to Functional Safety, and is SIL 2- certified according to IEC 6508 and IEC 6206 which puts full focus on reliability. This corresponds to performance level d according to EN ISO 3849-. Safety functions are exclusively handled by hardware. In addition, the system, trip logs and user-interface are all microprocessor-monitored. The system can be configured to trip selected breakers, depending on which sensor detects light. The dip-switches that take care of this function also handle settings like autoreset and Current Sensing Units. Energy is stored in the unit for operation up to 0.2 s if the supply voltage fails. This is sufficient to close the tripping circuit even if voltage disappears at a short-circuit fault. Note: The circuit breaker still needs a back-up energy source for its tripping circuit. Connections All connections can be accessed from the front of the arc monitor. Pluggable terminal blocks allow electrical wiring before mounting TVOC-2 into the cabinet. HMI (Human Machine Interface) Handles settings with key-pad and full text display. Holds error log and trip information after power loss. Error log and trip log include time/date stamp from a realtime clock. TVOC-2 can handle two separate HMl's (cabinet door and on product). Three-meter cable included.
