Winston Speedway 2016 Street Stock Rules General rules for drivers and crew. All decisions by Winston Speedway officials or scorers are final! #1 Rule No loopholes or gray areas are in these rules! The spirit and intent of the rules will be determined by Winston Speedway and its officials. Period! #2 Rule This is a sporting event for the enjoyment of the racers and fans alike. Never forget what this sport is about. 1. Drivers, owners and crew members will conduct themselves as professionals. Any unsportsmanlike conduct by drivers, owners or crew members shall be ground for disqualification and/or suspension. 2. All drivers or crew members under the age of 18 must have a waiver and parent consent form signed before entering the pit are or competing at Winston Speedway. 3. No equipment or race car will be considered as having been approved by reason of having passed through inspection unobserved. 4. Any person who defies or violates the intent or spirit of the Winston Speedway rules shall be considered to have engaged in unsportsmanlike conduct and shall be subject to suspension and/or removal from the premises. 5. Winston Speedway reserves the right to refuse any car or participant at any event, for any reason. Sportsmanship Rules for Drivers and Crew 1. All discussions with officials shall be conducted in a professional manner. 2. Drivers are responsible for the conduct and actions of all crew members (this includes spouses, relatives and significant others). Unsportsmanlike conduct, fighting or harassing officials may result in disqualification and/or suspension. 3. All drivers and crew will conduct themselves in a professional manner. 4. Disqualification and/or suspension will result for the following unsportsmanlike behavior; A) Driver or crew member going into other driver's pit area. B) Fighting or assault. C) Any driver threatening or touching an official. D) Any driver stopping on the track and throwing a tantrum or holding up the show. E) Any driver that takes his/her helmet off while on the track during an event. F) Any driver or crew member using profanity or obscure gestures at the flagman or any official. G) Any driver that intentionally makes contact with another car following the finish of a race or during a caution period. H) Or any other unprofessional or unsportsmanlike conduct not covered in this section. Personal Protection Equipment General It is the sole responsibility of each competitor for the effectiveness and proper installation per the manufacturers specifications to be adequate for competition at every event. Each competitor is expected to investigate and educate themselves for continuing improvement regarding their own personal safety equipment. Seat Belt/Restraint System 1. It is recommended that each car be equipped with an SFI 16.5 or SFI 16.1 approved seat belt restraint system until the date of the belt expiration (usually two years). Seat belt restraint system shall be installed in accordance with the directions and application of the system supplier or manufacturer. 2. Seat belt webbing that comes into contact with any sharp or un-radiused metal edge should be protected from that edge by means of push on grip vinyl trim. Seat manufacturers supply the seat with trim protecting the webbing from abrasion or cutting under impact conditions and should be used to their specifications.

3. It is the responsibility of the driver, not the officials or the promoter to ensure that his/her seat belt restraint system and all components are SFI approved, correctly installed, maintained and properly used. Protective Clothing 1. Each driver should wear a fire resistant uniform meeting the SFI 3.2A/5 specification and display a valid SFI 3.2A/5 label. 2. Each driver should also wear fire resistant accessories that effectively cover the remaining parts of the body. Shoes and gloves should meet the SFI 3.3 specification and display a valid SFI 3.3 label. Safety 1. A 2 ½ pound minimum fire extinguisher with gauge visible for inspection purpose is mandatory in each race car. Extinguishers must be mounted in a quick release. Duct tape is NOT an acceptable mounting device. 2. Driver must wear approved SA 2000 or newer racing helmet, SFI fire suit, unaltered neck restraint and Nomex gloves 3. Driver's head with helmet on must NOT rise above the roll bars. 4. All cars must have an aluminum racing seat and be fastened to the roll cage. 5. Cable or tie strap must hook gas cap to the fuel cell. 6. Added weight must be painted white clearly labeled with car number. (2) 1/2 bolts bolted through the frame or tubing or ballast clamps (2). 7. Window net MANDATORY! RaceCeiver radios are REQUIRED to compete at Winston Speedway! General rules for drivers and crew apply in addition! NOTE: Cars in this class are Street Stocks. Rules highlighted in red are mandatory to race. If you do not meet the rules highlighted in red, you will not run with the Street Stock class. NO grace period! Drivers must be 14 years old or older to race in this class. Claim Rule For this class to remain affordable and competitive we have a claim rule. 1. Claim will be eligible on the first night of the season. 2. Top 3 feature finishers can be claimed. 3. Any top 10 feature finisher may claim 1 st through 3 rd place feature finisher. 4. If more than one claim, the claim goes to the lowest eligible claim. 5. To claim or be claimed, eligible cars must follow all claim procedures. 6. Claiming driver must have raced the two previous weeks to make a claim. 7. Track must approve all claims. Claiming car must be legal. 8. $75.00 per shock claim (may claim four shocks from a single car and count as one claim). 9. $150.00 Distributor Claim. Distributor claim does not include cap, coil or wires. Claiming Procedure 1. Drivers making a claim must drive their car, under its own power and immediately after the finish of the feature, directly to the claiming area. No extra laps and no driving off the track. If any top 3 finisher leaves the track they are disqualified. If any 4 th through 10 th place finishing car drives off the track, they are ineligible to claim. 2. Only driver and officials are allowed in the claiming area. 3. Claims must be made within five minutes of the end of the feature 4. Promoter may make any claim following the feature, as long as claim is made within the five minutes of allotted time.

5. Claiming driver must race the equipment claimed the next two times the driver and/or car is at the same track where the equipment was claimed. Even if it takes two weeks, two years, etc to fulfill the two time requirement, or cannot compete at Winston Speedway in the Street Stock class again. Refusal of Claim Refusing the claim will result in the loss of all money won that night and all points accumulated for the season. In addition, any driver who denies a claim must pay a fine equal to the amount of the claim they turned down. IE, deny a claim on two shocks and the driver must pay Winston Speedway a $150.00 fine before racing in the Street Stock class again. NOTE: Any driver found to be claiming for anyone else other than themselves will lose all points for the season and will be suspended for 30 calendar days. Driver may only make one claim on claimable items per night. If driver makes shock(s) claim then driver cannot also claim distributor. Driver may only make two claims per year. Battery Must arrive at the track fully charged. May be located anywhere outside the driver's compartment. Brakes All in working condition (all four must lock in brakes test). One front to rear brake adjuster allowed. No right front shut off. Cars A borrowed car must be from the same division. A car cannot run in two features in one night. A car can only be run in championship races in a single division. Street Stock cars are limited to American 1950 to 2005 passenger cars only. Must maintain stock appearance. Engine 1. The engine and body must be manufactured by the same company. 2. The number one spark plug must align itself in a perpendicular line with the center of the upper ball joint for each manufacturer. 3. The engine must be cast iron. 4. Cast iron cylinder heads of any make are permitted. 5. Roller rocker or roller tip rocker arms will be permitted. 6. Roller cams and roller lifters are NOT permitted. Roller and/or mushroom-type lifters will NOT be permitted. (NOTE: 1 inspection hole in the intake will help with tech inspection.) 7. Cast iron or aluminum intake manifolds will be permitted. 8. Aftermarket exhaust headers will be permitted. The direction of the exhaust flow must exit away from the car and the track surface. 9. Racing-type and/or specific racing-type distributors will NOT be permitted. 10. One 500 CFM 4412 Holley carburetor is required. A) The original choke tower must remain in its stock position and configuration. B) The choke blade may be removed. C) Any other alterations to the body of the carburetor, internal working mechanisms, venturis throttle plate and/or any other and/or component of the carburetor will NOT be permitted. D) Only mechanical fuel pumps will be permitted. Transmission Driveline All Types 1. The transmission must have a minimum of at least two forward gears and one reverse gear, plus neutral position.

2. Only OEM production type transmission will be permitted; two speed, three speed, four speed and automatic. Manual Transmission 1. Any manual-type transmission must be in an OEM or OEM replacement case. 2. In manual-type applications only an external steel and/or aluminum, single or musti-disc clutch inside n explosionproof steel bell housing will be permitted. The bell housing must be a minimum of 270 degrees around top of clutch/flywheel area. 3. Special purpose aftermarket-type racing transmission will not be permitted. Automatic Transmission 1. Any automatic-type transmission must remain in an OEM or OEM replacement case, with a functioning OEM appearing pump. 2. The original OEM bell housing must have an approved scatter shield constructed of minimum 0.125 inch by 3 inch steel, 270 degrees around flex plate. Manual bump starts will be permitted. Driveshaft 1. The driveshaft must be a minimum 2 diameter and made from magnetic steel. 2. The driveshaft must be painted white and clearly labeled with the car number on white portion of the driveshaft. 3. A 360 degree driveshaft loop will be required and must be constructed of at least 0.25 by 2 magnetic steel, and/or 1 diameter tubing, mounted 6 inches behind the front universal joint. A second driveshaft hoop is recommended and must be placed within 12 of the front universal joint. Chassis 1. Only American manufactured cars and/or full size uni-body type cars will be permitted. 2. All vehicles must maintain a minimum of 107 wheelbase. 3. Altering of stock frame, with the exception of repair to the original frame to maintain original specifications will not be permitted. Repairs that will be acceptable will include patching of holes and/or rust(ed) areas of the frame. Repairs will be approved at the discretion of Winston Speedway and/or track officials. Weight 1. The minimum weight requirement at all times will be 3200 LBS. 2. All weights must be securely mounted with (2) 1/2 bolts securing them to the frame in a positive manner. The weight(s) must be painted white with the car number clearly marked on them. All weights must be mounted under the body of the car. Fuel Cells and Fuel 1. Only gasoline-type fuels will be permitted. E-85 OK. No methanol. 2. The fuel cell must be securely mounted in the rear of the car and secured with 2 wide straps. It is recommended that the fuel cell be mounted solidly to the rear frame rails of the vehicle in a fabricated manner. 3. All fuel cells must be enclosed in a metal container. 4. The fuel cell must be a steel container with a minimum of two 1 x 1/8 steel straps on each side of the container to mount the fuel cell. Body 1. The body, frame and engine must match the manufacturer. The body mounting position and overall appearance must retain all stock OEM dimension. All glass, chrome and upholstery must be removed from body prior to competition. The body must be made from magnetic steel. 2. It is mandatory that three support bars fabrication from magnetic steel tubing, a minimum of 1 diameter and.095 wall thickness be spaced equally in front of the driver and welded to the top roll cage bar and the dash bar or the roll cage in a vertical manner. 3. The floor pan and firewalls must be stock in appearance and be complete on both the driver and passenger side of the vehicle. The floor pan and firewalls (front and rear) may be repaired and/or fabricated, but must retain stock

appearance and stock material thickness. The front of the rear firewall must maintain the same height as the top of the front of the dashboard. 4. The driver and passenger compartment must remain open from left to right exposing the stock appearing floor pan and to the rear seat firewall and shelf. You may run from the top of the transmission tunnel over to the right door. NO INTERIOR DECKING. 5. The body, including fenders, quarters, hood, roof, decks and doors must be magnetic steel and remain stock or approved stock in appearance. Aluminum doors OK. Fiberglass hood OK. 6. Plastic aftermarket front nose will be permitted provided they are approved and stock appearing for the year, make and model of the car. Late model type aerodynamic noses will not be permitted. 7. Rub/side rails may be attached flush to the body from the fender well to the rear quarter panel. 8. The window openings, font and/or rear, driver and/or passenger side must retain their stock OEM dimensions. 9. Mirrors of any type are not permitted. 10. The back of the hood must be sealed off from the driver's compartment. 11. The front bumper must remain stock. Sharp edges will not be permitted. Both sides and ends of the bumper must be capped. Tube-type front bumpers will be permitted. Tube-type bumpers must have capped ends. 12. The rear of the car must be enclosed. The rear bumpers may be covered and must have round edges and connect solidly to the frame. Aftermarket rear bumper covers will be permitted provided they are approved and stock appearing for the year, make and model of the car. 13. SPOILERS A) 8 tall x 60 wide maximum. B) Maximum height: 8 total measure with maximum of 3 vertical supports. C) Maximum dimensions on spoiler supports: 12 long at the bottom, 8 tall at the rear. 8 tall may extend 4 forward from the back then taper to a maximum of 2 tall at the front. (SEE DIAGRAM) Suspension 1. All suspension components must remain stock in their OEM mounting for the year, make and model of the vehicle with the exception of racing shocks. Springs must maintain original mounting locations and may NOT be relocated. 2. Aftermarket steering wheel and quick release are permitted. 3. Steering quickening devices are permitted. 4. Only stock OEM-type bolt-in upper ball joint will be permitted. Adjustable and/or truck type ball joints will NOT be permitted. 5. Approved tubular-type A-frames, mounted in their stock OEM location will be permitted The A-frames may be reinforced along the edges by welding round stock. Cutting and/or changing lengths of the A-frames will not be permitted. 6. The lower rear trailing arms must remain in their stock OEM length and format, from the original OEM application and measurement system (English or Metric) and must remain specific to their particular chassis/frame. The lower rear trailing arms must be mounted in the stock location. Additional holes in the frame will not be permitted. Must be non-adjustable. NOTE: LOWER TRAILING ARMS MAY NOT ATTACH LOWER THAN FIVE INCHES BELOW THE BOTTOM OF THE REAR END AXLE TUBE TO CENTER OF TRAILING ARM BOLT. 7. The upper rear trailing arms may be altered (shortened and/or lengthened) to obtain the correct pinion angle. May not be adjustable. 8. Aftermarket bushings will be permitted, but the arm must not be altered in any manner. Slots and/or adjustable rod ends will not be permitted 9. Leaf-type springs will be permitted. Only stock OEM-type magnetic steel leaf springs(s) stack(s) will be permitted. Single leaf, mon-type leaf and/or any type of slider and/or any composite leaf-type application will not be permitted. 10. Coil-over applications of any type will not be permitted. 11. Aftermarket coil springs will be permitted. The coil springs locations may be altered on the rear end mounting pad. 2 1/2 tolerance from the original spring pad centerline-front to rear. 12. Only magnetic steel body, non-adjustable shock absorbers will be permitted.

13. Weight jacks will be permitted. 14. Hydraulic ratchet and/or electric weight jacks are not permitted. 15. Only stock-type OEM brakes will be permitted. All four corners must be in working condition prior to and following the completion of competition. Aftermarket brake pedals will be permitted. No right front shut-off. 16. Suspension components that are adjustable within driver compartment of any type will not be permitted. 17. Lower rear trailing arm mounts on the rear end may have adjustable holes. Wheels and Tires 1. A maximum 8 wide steel racing wheel will be permitted. Aluminum and/or magnesium and/or mag-type and/or homemade wheels will not be permitted. 1 magnetic steel lugnuts will be permitted on all four corners of the vehicle. 2. Approved tires; American Racer P245/70D-15 with MSPA stamp only. 3. A bead lock will be permitted on the right rear tire only. Seats 1. Racing seat is mandatory! Seat must be securely mounted to the frame or roll cage. 2. Head rest (behind the head) should include padding. All areas surrounding the head should have padding. 3. The seat must be mounted a minimum of 30 from the center of the rear end, measured at the bottom of the seat. 1. Ford 9 rear end OK. 2. Floater rear end OK. Rear End Other 1. No sharp or protruding edges in or around the driver compartment, which would impede the driver's rapid exit from the car. 2. An electric engine shut off switch is required. The switch must be labeled and within the reach of the driver. 3. Flame retardant seat, roll bar, knee and steering pads or padding are recommended. Roll Cage 1. A minimum 4 point competition roll cage is required. The roll cage must be constructed of magnetic steel tubing that is a minimum of 1 1/2 in diameter, with a minimum tubing thickness of.095 (wall thickness). WRECKER HOOKS ARE MANDATORY! FRONT AND REAR. Both must be accessible. If no wrecker hooks are on the car, the car will be pushed, towed or dragged to the infield until after the racing program is completed. NEITHER WRECKER CREWS NOR RACE TRACK WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE DONE TO THE CAR!
