Modular & demountable Flexibility in design Transportable & storable INTRODUCTION The Meyvaert Infinity showcase system is both modular and demountable. The system is expertly designed to offer great flexibility and versatility in terms of display options, whilst conforming to high conservation and security standards. Our Infinity cases have been used by museums and private collectors across the world and have an excellent track record of creating safe and secure environments for a wide variety of exhibits. Because of its high specifications it is approved by the world s top museums for loaned objects. MODULAR AND DEMOUNTABLE Our Infinity display cases are both modular and demountable. This means they can be easily disassembled and rebuilt elsewhere just as quickly. Several cases can be joined together in various configurations, thereby adapting to meet the needs of all types of exhibits. The doors open a full 90 degrees, permitting full access even for larger objects. DESIGN FLEXIBILITY AND VERSATILITY Infinity s can be supplied with several internal options, including a suspended shelf system, internal panels and plinths. By altering the display space volume, objects of all sizes can be displayed in very different and creative ways. The structural self-supporting nature of the showcase also allows the Infinity to be moved when fully assembled using a pallet truck. This is especially useful during the initial stages of display building, when the best set-up of the gallery space is yet to be decided. DK, Ulfborg - Stranding Museum St.George 4 5

The compartment can hold two prosorb cassettes that passively regulate the humidity level inside the display case. Furthermore, the Meyvaert Infinity showcase system offers great air tightness, with a tested AER of 0,1. This was tested and confirmed by a study conducted by University of Ghent. SECURITY We only use Abloy locks, which are optimally suited for use in display case construction. Every lock has a unique key combination. The showcase has a separate closing mechanism that is only accessible when the Abloy lock is operated. The closing mechanism actively compresses the seal as the door is secured into the closed position. The locks and closing mechanism are positioned above and below the case. As an additional security feature, these are not visible to the visitors thereby making it impossible for them to determine which side is the door. Furthermore, a separate security grill is situated above the prosorb compartment, which allows the air to circulate freely into the display area but prevents access into this space. DIMENSIONS The display case is 900 mm x 900 mm x 2200 mm in size. GLASS The glass is 11.5 mm laminated anti-bandit, extra-white glass, with the option of antireflective. REFERENCES DK, Ulfborg - Stranding Museum St. George Situated on the west coast of Jutland, Strandings Museum tells the story of several historic events that took place along its shore in the North Sea. The first such event was the enormous shipwreck of two British ships, the HMS St. George and the HMS Defence, which occurred in 1811 and resulted in the loss of over 1.400 men. The second event is the naval Battle of Jutland, which took place in 1916 amidst WWI and brought about the loss of almost 8.000 men in just one day. The museum reopened to the public in May 2017 after an extensive rebuild. Meyvaert contributed to the museums makeover by supplying more than 20 of our modular and demountable Infinity showcases, as well as numerous other custom-built display cases such as desktop cases and bell jar cases. These are used by the museum to display artefacts linked to the many shipwrecks in a manner that takes into account all aspects of presentation, security and conservation. CA, Edmonton - Royal Alberta Museum Royal Alberta Museum in Edmonton, Canada, is the largest museum in Western Canada, with over 84,000 sq. ft, of exhibition space. The museum will open to the public in May 2018. It will house various exhibits on subjects including natural and human history. Visitors will also find a number of non-permanent, changing gallery spaces (approx. 24,000 sq.ft.) such as the feature gallery, the textiles gallery, the Alberta Stories Gallery and the Research Gallery. For these temporary exhibition galleries, we delivered and installed several Infinity cases. The museum staff has been trained and can easily change and adapt the layout of the exhibition. 16 17
REFERENCES UK, Cambridge - The Fitzwilliam Museum The museum was looking for a long-term temporary exhibition display case suite with optimum flexibility and the ability to add to these cases in the future. Meyvaert supplied the museum with 15 modular demountable showcases, that measured 900mm x 900mm x 2200mm. These Infinity showcases featured a fibre optic lit top with 4 additional tails. Over the years the Fitzwilliam Museum has been able to customize its temporary exhibits with the aid of internal plinths and suspended glass shelving, making every display truly unique. FR, Paris - Musée du quai Branly The permanent collection, of this beautiful and fascinating museum that opened in 2006, features works of art and cultural artefacts from Oceania, the Americas, Africa and Asia. In response to the museum s request for the production and installation of demountable showcases, Meyvaert produced, delivered and installed 80 Infinity cases. These are located in the Mezzanine East wing of the museum, where they house precious artefacts of various typologies (provenance, materials, dimensions, etc.) that comprise part of the permanent collection.
