Designer of safety DIE-SPLITTER 1
Experience were designed to cater to internal die handling requirements and are constantly upgraded according to the needs of our fitters and to the suggestions of our customers. Forty years of experience in the business have thus enabled us to develop machines that leave no detail to chance and make all die fitting and control jobs easier for the operator. Attrezzeria Universal has been making dies and dedicated equipment since 1972. Founded by Armando Caramaschi, the company has extended its experience starting with the project and with the building of sheetmetal stamping dies. Over the years, it has acquired increasingly more cutting-edge machinery which has enabled it to expand its range of products and services. Today the showpieces of its range are the Die-splitters, sold the world over to leading companies in the sheet-metal stamping industry and which have become indispensable for cutting costs by up to 90% while ensuring totally safe die handling. In 2006, the company moved into new headquarters, with triple the work space, equipped with cutting-edge technology machines for the three-dimensional control of the stamped pieces. What is more, the company has increased its workforce and is constantly engaged in creating and spreading specialized know-how; this makes possible the design and manufacture of equipment and dies in a much shorter time and at costs highly competitive with those of other leading companies on the market. The company has always been closely focused on the quality of its products which is refl ected in the excellence of the materials used and in ongoing investments in latest-generation machine tools which, together with CAD/CAM technologies, have made it possible to cut sheet-metal stamping die production times to an increasing extent. n 1 Finger n 2 Minutes to safely open and rotate your tooling The DIE-SPLITTER permits opening, turning and closing dies of up to 100 t, with just one operator and in less than 2 minutes, thanks to an innovative permanent-magnet system. Already chosen by leading sheet-metal stamping companies the world over. 1 2 Our machine has been designed to open a die and overturn the top section in just two minutes. In the time taken by traditional systems to open a die, our machine has opened and closed it at least ten times. Being able to cut the lead time of a product means being more competitive on the market in terms of price. 1 2 The Die-splitter reduces the number of operators needed for die handling. Just one operator can move dies of any size and weight. Up To 90% Cost Savings!! 3 Safety first Allows working in total safety, avoiding suspended loads above the operator, especially during the overturning of the top section of the die. STOP 4 All machine movements are hold-to-run.. This means that whenever a button is released, the machine stops immediately. When the button is pressed again, the machine starts off from the same point; this ensures operator safety without, at the same time, any barriers being required. 5 Precision. The up/down movement of the upper level is mechanically driven by means of ball screws controlled by brushless motors and Plc, which provide perfect synchronism between the two axes and allow maintaining fine parallelism between the top and bottom sections of the die. The up/down speed is regulated by a potentiometer which permits variations. If, during the closing of the two die sections, a punch is not perfectly aligned with its matrix, the machine stops to prevent any damage to the component parts. 4
Benefits STOP 6 The rotation and height of the upper table can be regulated and stopped in any position, making the die accessible at any point, including at rear. Utmost accessibility 7 User-friendly display. Only a few easy-to-use controls. 8 700 mm The lower carriage featuring parallel bars is only 700 mm high. This means the operator can work conveniently on the die (a higher bench, to which must be added the height of the die, would be uncomfortable); The carriage comes completely out of the machine and allows the top section of the die (once turned by 180 ) to drop to fl oor level. 9 200 mm The parallel bars are 200 mm high and permit obtaining a work area between the die and the machine, both above and below; they are mounted on ball bearings and can be easily moved with one finger to permit receiving dies of various sizes. 10 The machine tables can be equipped with permanent magnets to speed up die clamping operations. 5
