A passion for posture
We are passionate about posture. Our experienced team of clinicians and engineers understand the importance of sitting correctly and comfortably, especially for those who do not have the required postural control to achieve this on their own. Our passion and expert knowledge has been poured into Nimbus to create a unique, fully adjustable and attractive seat that optimally manages posture for children aged from 4 years through to adulthood. Pelvic control Control of the pelvis forms the foundation of Nimbus. Optimal alignment and stabilisation of the pelvis is achieved with adjustable pelvic support, allowing for pelvic tilt. For those requiring additional control, the unique pelvic cradle moulds around the pelvis to support laterally and posteriorly. Distributing the corrective forces over a greater surface area ensures a more comfortable fit. Seat in a day Modular in design, Nimbus can be configured quickly and easily to exacting specifications, allowing it to be supplied at our seat in a day clinics. Nimbus can also be supplied through self-assessment prescription forms or by individual assessment by our experienced seating clinicians. Seat for life Nimbus uniquely features a single chassis across all three seat sizes to fully adapt as the user grows or their postural needs change. The support structures are fully adjustable to meet clinical needs. With unique levels of adjustment, Nimbus has a long life cycle and offers greater value for money. Discrete, effective control We believe in seeing the patient, not the seat. Nimbus is designed to control and correct only where it s needed. This provides a good sitting position and stability to improve control and prevent postural deformities whilst being comfortable. Our clinical trials found the improved position helps with trunk elongation, breathing, vocalising, motor skills, eating and drinking, interaction and comfort. Dynamic back With an optional dynamic back, Nimbus is suitable for users with strong extensor patterns. The pivot point of the innovative rotary damper is positioned above the pelvic support. This enables the user to extend backwards whilst maintaining the desired seating position. Damper resistance can be adjusted to meet the varying needs of patients. The back is lockable for use in transportation or if desired, for example when eating or drinking. Lightweight, aesthetic design The lightweight, streamlined chassis reduces the seat bulk and creates a soft, discrete appearance. Rated for users up to 100Kg, Nimbus will stand up to the rigour of everyday use.
Available in a range of stylish colours, Nimbus fabrics are soft to the touch with two-way stretch for comfort. Safe and practical, they are fire retardant, waterproof, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and resistant to stain or urea. Covers are also available in soft faux leather. Options include a standard, curved or anti-roll headrest. The back rest is curved to meet the contour of the body for improved comfort. It can be adjusted and locked in various positions from 10 anterior tilt to +50 posterior tilt. Arm retraction pads are available as an optional extra where required. Available with a fixed back as standard. An optional dynamic back, featuring an innovative rotary damper, is optimally positioned to retain control of the pelvis during extensor patterns and allows for up to 40 extension. Thoracic supports are fitted as standard and a swing-away option is available if required. Both versions can be fully adjusted for optimal posture management and comfort. Featuring a single chassis across all three seat sizes, and fully adjustable for height, width and depth. Seating and accessories can be altered or replaced as the user grows or posture changes. The standard pelvic support can be tilted independent of the back rest to accommodate or facilitate the position of the pelvis. A pelvic cradle is also available as shown. In addition to anterior and posterior tilt, lateral wings extend around the pelvis for improved control and comfort. Available in two sizes, fully adjustable lateral thigh guides are fitted as standard to control leg abduction and aid pelvic control. Knee adductors are available in two sizes and can be included in addition to the thigh guides. A pommel is available for additional control of the leg positioning. The seat cushion features an anti-thrust cushion that adjusts as the seat changes in length. A foot box, foot plates and foot sandals are available in a range of sizes. Adjustable for knee angle, length, ankle position and plantar/ dorsiflexion, they can be detached from the seat with a quick release mechanism. seat features A simple interface is fitted as standard with a quick release interface also available for greater ease when switching bases.
