Installation Overview STEP 1: Register the device at www.catchpower.com Only our registered installer partners can register the device. Once registered, an email will be sent to the device owner with login details for their CATCH unit. CATCH COMMUNICATOR Installation The Communicator must be plugged directly into a power socket. Do not use power boards of any type. The Communicator can be plugged into any of the 3 phases. Use the supplied ethernet cable to plug the communicator into a spare ethernet port on the premises router. CATCH DIVERTER Installation IMPORTANT: Maximum load allowed to be connected to HW terminal is 7.2kW. Cable sizing must be chosen based on the AS3000 wiring standard. The Diverter must be protected from weather and direct contact. The recommended installation location in inside the meter box, behind the metering board. The maximum load that can be connected to the Diverter is 7.2kW, however the maximum power delivered to the load is 5kW. IMPORTANT Catch Power BLUE 3 Installation manual - Page 6
BEFORE YOU BEGIN: The arrows next to the CT s in the wiring diagram represent the arrows on the inside of the CT s. Matching the CT s to the correct phase is critically important special care must be taken to ensure this happens. NEVER disconnect CT s from diverter while they are wrapped around a current carrying conductor. If Off Peak is not available leave the Off Peak connection empty. Multiple wires can be put through the Load/Solar CT, as long as all currents are in the same direction. Some electrical jurisdictions do not allow switches in the Off Peak circuit, if this is your case then do not connect the off peak circuit. Catch Power BLUE 3 Installation manual - Page 7
CONNECTING THE POWER CABLES PHASE R PHASE T PHASE S OFF PEAK HOT WATER NEUTRAL EARTH Active Conductors Ensure cables are sized for a 7.2kW load Ensure all terminal block screws are screwed in tight, even the ones that are not used. Phase sequence is not important, you can arbitrarily choose which phase goes to which Phase connection. Off Peak MUST come from PHASE R. IMPORTANT: The wire going into the PHASE R terminal must come from the same phase as the wire going into the OFF PEAK terminal block. Catch Power BLUE 3 Installation manual - Page 8
CONNECTING THE CURRENT TRANSFORMERS It is vitally important the CT s are connected to the correct Phase. IMPORTANT Example: If the BLUE phase is connected to the PHASE S terminal block then the S Mains and S-Load ct s must be connected to the BLUE phase. The instructions below refer to the Phase-S ct s; however the same holds true for Phase-R and Phase-T. S-Mains Catch Power BLUE 3 Installation manual - Page 8
