Welcome to, the board game that tests your knowledge of Indian history! Date Dash is a multiple-choice game designed to test your knowledge of history. In Date Dash- India, the goal is to be the first player to correctly answer 7 questions first. Future editions of Date Dash will add cards and topics to the game and lengthen the finish line to 14 questions, 21 questions, etc. So, save the pieces from and watch for future editions! For this board game, you will need: 3 players (one question reader and two players)* one Date Dash Calendar Board for each player pen, pencil, marker, or crayon for each player one set of Q&A cards *for more than 3 players, see variation at end of instructions Set up: On heavy cardstock, print the calendar board for each player. Also on heavy cardstock, print one sheet of Q&A cards. Cut the Q&A cards apart and shuffle them. Choose one player to read the questions throughout the game. Place the Q&A cards face down in front of the reader. Choose whether you will play Date Dash Level 1 or Date Dash Level 2. (Date Dash Level 1 tests the players general knowledge of history. Example: Christopher Columbus discovered the New World in: 1192, 1492, or 1992. Date Dash Level 2 tests the players specific knowledge of history. Example: Christopher Columbus discovered the New World in: 1490, 1492, or 1496.) The correct answer is bolded. Rules of Play: The reader draws the top card from the Q&A stack and reads the question to the player on his/her left. If the player correctly answers the question, the player marks a dash on the first date on the game board and the turn ends. If the player answers incorrectly, the turn is over and the reader replaces the card on the bottom of the stack, without revealing the correct answer. The reader then asks the second player the question from the next card in the Q&A stack. Variation for More Than 3 Players: If more than 3 players wish to play at one time, one player will be the reader and all other players will take part in each turn. The reader will read the question and then have each player write down his/her answer on a slip of paper. Once everyone has written down an answer, reveal the correct answer. Each player who has answered correctly can mark off a day on his/her calendar board. This variation allows for the possibility of a tied game.
Variation for Two Players: Both players will need a Date Dash Calendar Board. Each player will take a turn at being the reader. The first reader will draw the top card and ask the question to the other player. If the player answers correctly, they will put a dash on the first space of their calendar board and their turn is over. If they answer incorrectly, their turn is over. In either case, the card is laid aside. Then, the second player will draw the next card and ask the first player the question. Play continues in this way, with each person alternating between reader and player, until someone reaches 7 correct answers or all of the cards have been used. If no one reaches 7 correct answers before the pile of cards is finished, the player with the most questions answered correctly wins! Watch for the next edition of Date Dash, and watch the length of the game and your knowledge grow!
