Lawton RC Raceway Classes &Rules Kids Class This is a beginner s class for kids up to the age of 15. Kids may race in this class until they choose to move into the novice or expert classes or at the discretion of the Race Director. Any 10 th Scale 2wd electric R/C car will be allowed to race in this class. (2wd Short Course Trucks are recommended). Novice Class The Novice Class is a beginner s class for drivers over the age of 15 that have not reached an advanced driver s skill. Drivers who choose to race in the Novice class will not be eligible to race in another class, as well as the Novice class. If there aren t enough racers entered in the novice class (at least 3) the driver will be placed in the 2 wheel drive class. At the Race Director s discretion, a driver who has improved may be asked to race in one of Lawton RC Raceway s other classes. Must be electric-powered 2wd 1/10 th scale SC Trucks.
2WD SHORT COURSE TRUCK Chassis: 2wd Short Course truck chassis or similar chassis with minimum 12 wheel base.1/10 th scaleonly. Body: Bodies must cover both front and rear wheels. No Spoilers or Wings added. Tires & Wheels: No tire limit. Must be 1/10th scale short course style tires mounted on Short Course style wheels. No foam tires. No 1/8th scale wheels or adapters. Motor and ESC: Open Motor & ESC. Battery: 2S 7.4 volt LIPO (no C limit) or 6-7 Cell NiMH battery allowed. SC Modified Class The SC Modified Class are short course trucks with bodies resembling IMCA, USRA, UMP or USMTS modified or sport modified cars. Chassis: Any 2wd 1/10 th short course truck chassis only. Aftermarket chassis okay. Chassis may not be any wider than the center line of the rear tires. Aftermarket springs and shocks are allowed. Wheelbase length: 12.75-13.5, track width: 11-11.75 Tires and Wheels: Must run short-course OEM sized wheels and tires. Style optional. No tire restriction except no foam tires. Body: Bodies must look like an IMCA, UMP or USMTS modified. Body must cover both rear wheels and front wheels must remain open. Spoilers are allowed, but must not exceed 1.5 off of the rear deck. End caps and rear spoiler diffusers are optional, but must fit into a 1.5x3 box. Bumpers are optional, but highly recommended to retain the look of the modified. Motor and ESC: No motor or ESC restrictions. Battery: 2S 7.4 volt LIPO (no C limit) or 6-7 Cell NiMH battery allowed.
2WD VINTAGE CLASS Chassis: 1/10 th scale short course truck or similar chassis with 12 minimum wheelbase. Aftermarket chassis permitted. Aftermarket shocks and springs permitted. Body: 55 Chevy (Parma #1238), 56 Ford (Parma #1240), 68 Camaro (Parma #1248), 72 Nova (Parma #1246), 66 Mustang (Parma #1247), 71 Ford Torino (Parma #1245), or 69 Oldsmobile Cutlass (Parma #1244) bodies only. No cutouts other than around the wheels and bumpers as needed. Bodies must cover wheels. No spoilers or wings will be added. Tires: Only 1/10 th scale short course tires and wheels. No 1/8 th scale wheels or adaptors. No limitation on tires or compounds except no foam tires. Motor and ESC: No motor or ESC restrictions. Battery: Maximum 2S 7.4 volt LIPO (no C limit). 6-7 Cell NiMH battery allowed. VINTAGE MODIFIED Chassis: Any 1/10 th scale 2wd buggy based chassis, rear wheel drive only. No offset chassis or suspension. Rear mount motor. Mid mount motor allowed ONLY if chassis was built for mid-mount motor. Aftermarket shocks and springs allowed. Motor: Any 13.5 ROAR approved motor and speed control, or any motor that comes stock with a 1/10 th scale 2wd buggy. Open ESC. Tires: 10 th Scale Buggy Tires. No limitation on tires or compounds except no foam tires. Body: Only bodies allowed are the MCA240; MCA253, MCA309 or MCA129. Battery: No more than 2S 7.4 volt LIPO (no C limit). 6-7 Cell NiMH battery allowed. Sprint Car Class The sprint car class is any Outlaw type, open-wheel Sprint car with a cage and roof wing. Front wing is optional. No motor or tire restrictions at this time, no foam tires.
Street Stocks 2WD Buggy based chassis only. No offset chassis or suspension, rear mount motors only, UNLESS the Buggy is one in which mid-mount motor is stock. Any 13.5 ROAR approved motor or any motor that comes stock with any 1/10 th scale 2wd Buggy. Open ESC and speed control. Tires: 10 th Scale Buggy Tires. No limitation on tires or compounds except no foam tires. Battery: No more than 2S 7.4 volt LIPO (no C limit) or 6-7 Cell NiMH battery allowed. Body: Only Bodies allowed are MCA134; MCA136; MCA256; MCA 264; MCA 290; MCA 125; MCA 268; MCA303; CW9075, any DODC approved Late Model body not over 9.5 Spoilers are allowed, but must not be over 2.5 tall and 9 wide, centered upon the rear decklid of the body. MIDWEST MODIFIED DODC Midwest Modified body rules. Any 10.5 turn or greater motor is allowed. Open speed control. No tire restrictions except no foam tires. No side dams. 2WD OPEN LATE MODEL DODC rules apply. No motor or tire restrictions except no foam tires. No side dams. Rear spoiler no more than 2.5. No more than 2s battery, unlimited C rating. NASTRUCK The approved bodies for the NASTRUCK Class are the Proline Ram 1500 (part #3420-00), Proline Ford F-150 Raptor (part #3461-00) or the Proline Chevy Silverado (part #3457-00). A 1.5 spoiler which will be centered at the Rear of the bed may be added. No Side Dams permitted and the Tailgate cannot be cut out. No adjustable rear A-Arms. Open Motor, 2s Lipo (no C limit) or 6-7 cell NiMH battery. Any SC Wheels and Tires. No offset chassis. Stock Chassis. LCG allowed since it comes stock on some 2wd Slashes.
Race entry fees: are $15.00 for the 1 st class and $10 for each additional class entered. Kids class is$10.00 ($5.00 with adult Race entry). There must be at least 3 cars in a class before that class will be run, unless there is a mutual agreement to combine classes. Track Rules Spectators get in Free @ Lawton RC Raceway. We have Concessions for your convenience, so we ask that you don t bring in any outside Food or Drinks. Lawton RC Raceway pays the top 3 from the A-Main winners in each class, 30% of the entry fees in cash, to be divided as follows: 15% for 1 st place, 10% for 2 nd place and 5% for 3 rd place. Lawton RC Raceway uses I-Laps transponder system. Transponders are for sale at the hobby shop for $40 or you may rent one for $5 per day with a $35.00 deposit or drivers license, which will be held until the rented transponder is returned. There is a limited replacement guarantee on the transponders, through the manufacturer. If your transponder stops working, please let us know and we will try to get it replaced free. Open track hotlaps will be held prior to any racing event. The track will be closed 15 to 30 minutes prior to race time for track maintenance, the track will remain closed until the races begin. Turn Marshals - Lawton RC Raceway has Volunteer Turn Marshals who are working for Tips only. This frees the racers from having to Turn Marshal for each other and allows you time to work on your cars and prepare for your next race. Please keep this in mind and take care of our Turn Marshals Remember, The bigger you tip, the faster they flip! LiPo Batteries must be charged in a LiPo safe, Fireproof Bag. Spektrum AVC (Active Vehicle Control) or Traxxas TSM (Traxxas Stability Management) is not legal at Lawton RC Raceway.
Please keep your pit area clean. A pit mat (sold in the hobby shop) is recommended. Sweep and wipe down your area before you leave. When you remove your car from the track, please shake or blow the dirt back onto the track, not onto the carpet. No smoking inside the building (smoking area in front) Children are welcome and encouraged to Race. Please watch your children and keep them off the Track. Also please keep children off the driver s stand and with you at all times unless they re racing. Lawton RC Raceway & Hobby Shop is not responsible for accidents, injuries, loss of or damage to personal property. Keep in mind we re all here to have fun. While we ask that you don t intentionally crash anyone, bumping can and will happen. But this is not NASCAR & and we are not racing for a national championship with millions of dollars on the line. Please observe good racing etiquette and be respectful of each other. Keep in mind there are children around, so please watch your language and act responsibly.
