About Excelsior Our History Excelsior Roto Moulding Ltd is a family run business based in Bury, Lancashire. Established in 1896 and incorporated in 1902, we have a proud heritage in manufacturing and innovation that dates back to the Industrial Revolution, and switched from textiles to plastic in the mid 1970s. Moulds & Machinery Manufacture We have our own sheet steel tooling division where we manufacture roto moulding machinery and tooling. This fantastic facility enables our customers to see at first hand the process of bringing their ideas to life through each stage of the production process. If it s a cost effective and efficient open flame roto moulding machine you need, then look no further. Our sister company Crossfield Excalibur have a fantastic team of skilled design engineers and specialist fabricators who can design a wide range of standard and bespoke machines. All machines come complete with a full PLC control panel, with a manual override facility and can be run on either natural gas or LPG (propane, butane etc.) The Merlin range of moulding machinery is manufactured in accordance with the CE mark directives. In addition to their range of machines, Crossfield are well renowned manufacturers of Sheet Steel Tooling which offers an affordable way of getting a new product to market quickly and cost effectively. Typical mould construction is 2.0 to 3.0mm thickness, using the best quality CR4 (cold reduced mild steel) for the body of the tool and 40 x 8mm BDMS (bright drawn mild steel) for the flanges. Powder Coating At our Powder Coating division, we specialize in both high and low volume powder coating, offering high quality coatings at affordable prices, with a fast turnaround. Our new 7 metre, 4 metre and 3 metre ovens have the latest and most efficient clean burner technology on the market today.
