50:1 Value Line Pneumatic Grease Pump Technical Brief 07/01/2010 No. 18710 201 Fits 35 lb. Pail Premium quality pneumatic pump used for 35 lb. Pail 1.Recommended Usage Grease pumps with a ratio of 50:1 are the most common pumps used for the distribution of NLGI#2 Grease from a pail to the metered outlets. The pumps will service several dispensing outlets depending on the distance from pail to the material outlet. The large diameter air motor and pump stroke of this model provide a high delivery volume. WARNING: Do not use pumps for gasoline or highly flammable products! Do not use pumps for water based fluids, solvents or chemicals! 2. Specifications Model No. 18710 201 Dia. of air motor 3 Ratio 50:1 Suction Tube for length 18 Diameter of follower plate 1.26 Max air pressure 120 psi Operating pressure 90 psi Min air pressure 60 psi Max material pressure at 120 psi 6000 psi Air inlet 1/4 Female Material outlet 1/4 Female Max sound level at 3 ft 80 db Air consumption 9 CFM
Help System For Lubeq Corp. DATA SHEET 07/01/2010 3. Delivery Performance The delivery performance depends on the viscosity, temperature and distance. Friction loss may reduce the delivery performance. The delivery performance depends on the combination of the distance of the material line, flow meter and/or hose reel. The data shown below is approximate and might be reduced up to 30 % if used with a flow meter. Distance Free flow At 35 ft. At 100 ft At 150 ft 50:1 pumps 24 oz. 14 oz. 11 oz. 10 oz. 4. Technical Description The pump consists of parts machined from aluminum, brass, aluminum and carbon steel. The seals are made from polyurethane, Viton and NBR. The control module has very few moving parts and springs resulting in a very simple air motor operation. The double acting pump performs at a very low noise level, without vibration. The air motor parts are CAD precision machined. All seals and O-Rings are precision fitted. The piston is made from polished, treated steel. 5. Operating Requirements Pneumatic pumps require clean, moisture free air pressure! Best results are achieved if an Air Filter / Regulator / Lubricator, see our No. 20 216, is installed in front of the air inlet opening. To avoid damages we recommend a 90-psi air pressure setting. Warning: An increase in air pressure above 120 psi may result in damages to the pump and accessories. Your warranty is no longer valid. Help System For Lubeq Corp. DATA SHEET 07/01/2010 6. Maintenance Pneumatic pumps are sensitive to dirt and water in the air supply. Pumps fail is dirt gets into the suction valve. A. Too much moisture will cause ice build-up and slow down or eventually stop the pump. B. If pump is used without a recommended Filter/Regulator/Lubricator, frequently lubricate pump with special oil for pneumatic equipment. Squirt oil in air intake wipe off excess oil from muffler.. C. Drain water regularly from compressor air reservoir. D. When changing pumps from one pail to another, avoid picking up dirt through the suction valve. Do not set pump on floor covered with oil absorb products. Unless authorized by us do not take pumps apart! We will NOT honor a warranty if pumps have been disassembled. 7. Warranty LUBEQ Corporation warrants only to its customers, unless otherwise stated, that its products are free from defects in workmanship and/or materials for 12 months, or stated otherwise, from the date of sale by LUBEQ Corp. The warranty time is extended by 6 months to cover inventory of our distributors. In case of a claim we require documentation showing the date of sale by our distributors. In order to claim credit for an exchange our customer must get prior approval. We will not accept claims for products, if the product was disassembled or used for materials not suited for such products, due to abuse, misuse, improper use or lack of maintenance. Failure to follow operating instruction or stated operating requirements would void this warranty. This warranty does not cover failure of parts or components due to normal wear or damage or failures, which in the judgment of LUBEQ Corp. arise, from misuse, abrasion, corrosion, negligence, accidental damage, faulty installation or tampering. If the LUBEQ Corp. inspection discloses no defect in material or workmanship, repair and return will be made at customary charges. LUBEQ Corp. has made a diligent effort to accurately illustrate and describe its products. However such illustrations and descriptions are not a warranty. LUBEQ Corp. does not accept liability for consequential or incidental damages. The warranty only applies to the purchase price of the LUBEQ Corp. product. 1. Pneumatic Pumps - Warranty of 5 (five) years, see above warranty conditions. The warranty is void if pumps have been disassembled used for fluids other then stated in data sheets. Pumps are warrantied against defects in workmanship or materials under normal use, any pump which is determined defective in material and workmanship and returned to LUBEQ Corp., will be repaired or replaced at LUBEQ Corp. s option.
Help System For Lubeq Corp. DATA SHEET 07/01/2010 8. Trouble Shooting Most problems are dirt, water and ice! There is no grease coming out of control gun. New Installation 1. Check if hoses are connected correctly. 2. Check if air supply is hooked up. 3. New pumps come primed. If grease is not discharged from control gun: a. Release air in hose. b. Allow time to discharge possible air in material line. c. Disconnect hose and run pump without hose. 4. Check for dirt in the suction valve. If there is any type of oil absorption material on the ground where you set up the pump, you might have picked up dirt in the suction valve on the bottom of the pump. 2. Pump was used and is slow or stopped 3. Pump is working there is no grease pumped. Important 4. Pump accelerates, nothing is pumped 1. If pump is slow or stopped, does not work at all a. Check air supply b. Check for Ice or Dirt Pneumatic pumps work with air pressure. Working with compressed air, water is accumulated in the compressor tank and air supply lines. Water may cause icing in the air motor. 2. Let ice melt and try again. Drain water from the compressor tank. 3. Water in the pump is an indication of damage. Water will cause rusting of internal parts! You must have the pump serviced. To avoid the loss of warranty, do not take apart pump. a. See above No 1-5 under new installations. b. Check for dirt in suction valve Check material lines for air pockets Check for material shavings from installation in material line. Check function of control gun To avoid loss of the warranty, do not disassemble air motor or any part for the suction tube except for the suction valve Pump will accelerate if the pail or container is empty! 1. Disconnect pump from air supply immediately to avoid air pressure filling the supply lines. 2. You must bleed air before you continue to use pump.
