Operating Principle of Vibratory Pile Driving Machines OMS vibratory pile driving machines are produced with the newest technology and by having the best performance and varying capacity saves time and cost. All piling applications can be conducted free from problem, with 24 / 7 access to technical and spare part support. Vibratory pile driving machines reduce the resistance of the ground with vibration and by changing the formation of the ground. The vibratory piling machine transfers vertical vibrations to the pile via the hydraulic clamp. This in turn, transfers vibration to the ground which reduces the friction between the pile and the ground allowing the pile to be driven or extracted with less force. The pile is driven into the ground by a combination of the vibrators weight and the centrifugal force it creates. OVR 80 NF Specially designed OVR excavator mounted vibro hammers are easily adapted to the excavator by connection bracket produced by OMS. OMS hydraulic clamps provide a safe connection between the vibratory pile driving machine and the clamp by using a piston locking system. OMS hydraulic clamps are manufactured from special alloy casting steel and have two clamping jaws. One is fixed other one is moveable. OVF Series Vibroflotation Equipment When a vibroflotation machine is penetrated into loose ground, it creates a hole. Gravel particles of a certain size are then fed into the hole, either using the top feed or bottom feed method. A stone column is then produced by compressing the gravel with vibration. This increases the supporting strenght of soft and loose grounds and reduces liquefaction risk. --VIBRATORY PILE DRIVING EQUIPMENT-- Top Feed Vibroflotation The top feed vibroflotation method consisting of firstly the rig or prob is positioned at the point on the ground surface where the compaction or stone column is desired. Then the combined influence of the intensive water jet and vibration enable the prob to penetrate into the soil. This process is allowed to design depth and resulting cavity is filled with material such as coarse chipping, aggregate, gravely sand. The required interaction between the stone column and surrounding soil is developed by the stone infill being compacted. During compaction, the oil pressure indicator on hydraulic power pack indicates efficiency of the pressure acting on the soil and creating compaction. Bottom Feed Vibroflotation The bottom feed vibroflotation probe suspended crawler crane or leader has a gravel feeding pipe connected with side of the prob and a gravel hooper located on top of vibroflotation probe and also a gravel bucket for filling the gravel hooper which is movable up and down using with crane ropes or leader ropes as an optional. Positioned vibroflotation prob suspended from a crawler crane or leader allows it to penetrate the soil by simultaneously injecting water and compressed air up to the desired depth. When the desired depth has been reached, the vibroflotation prob pulled up around 1 m and upper gate of gravel pipe opened and the hole created by vibroflotation probe filled by gravel. The vibroflotation probe vibrate and while compacting the probe lowered down until the gauge of hydraulic power pack or electronic data logger indicates that the specified compaction pressure has been reached. This process is repeated until the vibroflotation has either been extracted completely from the soil or else until its head has arrived at the upper side of the formation that is to be compacted. All operation can be monitored and recorded by an electronic data logger and the device control the hydraulic oil pressure, gravel volume and depth. 40 41

The machine is consisting of; hydromotors, sprocket gears, mandrel and a high frequency vibro hammer. It is very usefull equipment to drain the water in the cohesive soils, thus, the liquefaction risk minimal and settlement time higher then standard procedures. Operation Procedure The hydromotor driven sprocket gears insert the mandrel with Prefabricated Vertical Drain (PVD) in to the cohesive soil until the hard formation. The operator can use the high frequency vibro hammer if necessary to insert the mandrel deeper. The mandrel insert the Prefabricated Vertical Drain up to desired depth and drain stays in the soil then empty mandrel pull out and re-fill with PVD and insertion process starts again.
