This is not a replacement for the ECU. For CBR1000 kits, verify the corresponding map for your model is selected. We strongly suggest that an experienced technician install this BAZZAZ product. 1. Place the Z-Fi control unit in the tail section of the bike. 2. Route the fuel harness on the left hand side of the bike. 3. Plug the Z-Fi harness in-line with the lower injectors; yellow tag on harness is CYL#1 lower injector (Photo 1). WARNING! Make sure that the Z-Fi harness injector male pins make proper contact with the stock harness injector connectors. 4. Plug the Z-Fi harness in-line with the upper injectors (Photo 1). WARNING! Plug the Z-Fi harness in-line with the throttle position sensor (Photo 2). Photo 2

6. Plug the Z-Fi harness in-line with the crank sensor (Photo3). Crank Sensor Photo 3 7. Plug the Z-Fi harness in-line with the speed sensor (Photo 4). Neutral Detect Speed Sensor Photo 4 8. Install supplied scotchlok to TAP into green wire for Neutral Detect Sensor. Insert T-TAP from BAZZAZ harness with white/blue wire. 9. Attach the ground lug from the Z-Fi to the crankcase using one of the crankcase bolts. 10. Locate the Brown/White wire on the tail light connector located in the tail section. Use the supplied scotchlok to tap into this wire. 11. Insert the switched power (Red Tag) T-tap into the scotchlok. WARNING! Proper alignment of the T-tap terminal with the scotchlok is critical for proper operation.

12. Route the coil harness on the right hand side of the bike. 1 3 2 (1) TC adjust switch connection (n/a for Z-Fi QS) (2) Shift switch connection (3) Coils COIL HARNESS 13. Connect the Bazzaz harness in line with the ignition coil sub harness connectors on the stock harness which can be found on a mounting bracket behind the right side fairing. (Photo 5) Coil Sub harness Connectors Photo 5 14. Remove the stock shift rod. In its place, first install the Bazzaz shift switch followed by the replacement shift rod supplied with the kit. Adjust the combined length of these components to allow for complete actuation of the shift shaft and also maintain a comfortable riding position. Once the desired length is established tighten the 10mm nuts to secure the switch and rod in place. Route the wiring lead of the shift switch sensor into the engine compartment and connect it with the mating connector on the Bazzaz harness. Secure any excess wiring length away from any hot or moving components on the bike, as contact with these components may cause damage or failure to the sensor. (Photo 6)

Photo 6 Notes: (1) The female end of Bazzaz shift switches are cross tapped to allow them to be mounted to either the rear set or shift shaft heim joint regardless of the thread design. (2) If the replacement rod supplied with your kit contains female style ends, it is designed to allow the user to shorten its length to suit various aftermarket reset configurations. The female style rods contain grooves in 10mm increments on both ends identifying areas where the rod can be modified and adequate threads will remain for proper installation. 15. Now that the Bazzaz hardware installation is near complete please take a moment to secure the Bazzaz harness along its routing path with cable ties. Secure wiring away from any hot or moving components on the bike, as contact with these components may cause system damage or failure. If any problem is found, please carefully follow through the installation steps again. If problem still persists, please call Bazzaz tech support department at (909) 597-8300. The Bazzaz Z-Fi controller is capable of storing two maps. These maps can be selected through the use of a map select switch which can be mounted on the handlebar for easy access and can be purchased separately. Or these maps can be selected by connecting or disconnecting the map select jumper supplied with kit. When the map select jumper is connected the control unit is operating using Map 1 which is the map for the 2004-2005 models. When the map select jumper is disconnected the control unit is operating using Map 2 which is the map for the 2006-2007 models.
