Our Poultry Kits are designed to keep out predators including foxes, dogs, cats and badgers and mink whilst keeping your poultry in. Each kit comes with everything you need to set up your system including comprehensive installation instructions. You may add to any kit, substitute a different energiser, add more nets etc dependent on your specific needs. The Poultry Kit comprises green electric netting, 50mtrs in length x 1.22mtrs or 1.1m high and incorporates double pronged tread-in posts built into the net (single prong on 1.1m net), plus energiser and all fittings. Nets can be linked together and additional posts may be purchased to give the net added support if the area is very exposed or the ground undulating. Netting includes a gate post so you can create your own gate in the net (a tread in gate) or alternatively we sell a separate gate known as a hotgate which attaches onto the ends of the netting. It is essential to ensure you have the right energiser for the number of nets required. It is good practice to have spare capacity as the smaller the energiser the more affect vegetation earthing will have on your system, so we include as standard a powerful energiser. A mains powered energiser is the most reliable it is simply plugged into a mains socket the power is taken to the fence by means of a lead-out cable (we offer different lengths of lead-out cable and an outdoor switch is standard in mains kits). We believe it is essential to continually test the effectiveness of your system so we now include a KV10 tester in most of our kits. Due to popular demand we have created kits that protect existing poultry pens. If your current poultry enclosure is made up of wire mesh supported by wooden posts it is possible to add an extra layer of protection by affixing electric fencing through insulators on to the wooden posts. FOX BUSTING POULTRY NETTING KITS Electric Poultry Netting is highly effective in keeping PREDATORS OUT (e.g. foxes, badgers, dogs, cats, mink etc) and POULTRY IN. It is simple to erect, just unroll the net and tread in the posts. The nets can be easily moved around so offers poultry new grass, helps to eliminate poaching and improves soil fertility. We have a choice of dark green nets which are 50m long and either 1.1m tall (standard poultry net) or 1.22mtrs tall (premium/professional fox busting poultry net) and which can be linked together. We have 25m (only standard and premium) and 40m nets (only Premium) available. All 50m nets have 15 tread in posts which are fitted into the netting. The professional and premium nets have double pronged posts throughout for greater stability and security, whereas the standard net only has double pronged end posts. The professional net has extra tall and heavy posts throughout. More posts may be added to any net to cope with undulating land or exposed areas. All our nets come with Corner Guys to support corners, Net Pegs to pin down the bottom line, a Repair Kit and a Warning Sign. For full details on the nets please see overleaf. Each kit includes the appropriate energiser to power the relevant number of nets. However, if the ground is uneven or the vegetation has been left to grow into the net, there will be power loss due to earthing. This allows you to expand in future and also to cope with more earthing (please call to discuss this option). We also have Solar Powered Energisers or a simple Solar Panel & Stand, which can be added to any 12v battery energiser and continuously trickle charges the 12v battery (see Solar Assist Kits). THE PROFESSIONAL NET Its simple - this net is the gold standard of poultry nets! It has all the features of our premium fox buster nets but with 5 extra tall (1.25m) heavyweight and sturdy double pronged corner/angle posts and 9 extra tall posts which give you unrivalled stability and strength. This net is dark green with black posts and is available in close mosh. It will keep out all predators including the dreaded fox, mink, stoat and the like. ELECTRIC FENCE PROTECTION FOR AN EXISTING POULTRY PEN You may already have a poultry pen in place but know there are foxes in your area and want to add another line of defence? There is a way to do this and it is very straightforward. A three line system will prevent a predator getting close to a wire mesh pen. The lower lines are designed to scare the fox away as it approaches the enclosure and at least one of these lower wires should be run through stand-off insulators. The higher lines are in place to give an animal a zap as it tries to scramble up the fence. The wire mesh needs to be earthed (ie connected to the earth stake or buried under the ground) and it is a good idea to run an earth wire next to the live wire at the top if the mesh is plastic coated to ensure a good zap. ADDITIONAL ITEMS LEAD OUT CABLE Used with a mains powered system. The lead out cable is used to link the Energiser to the net (via an outdoor switch which is included in the mains kit). Part of the same cable is used to link the energiser to the earth stake, normally located close to the energiser. Comes in 10m, 25m, 50m or 100m lengths ( 9.56, 18.00, 34.89 or 68.29) ADDITIONAL POSTS STURDY CORNER ADDITIONAL POSTS FENCE TESTERS If the area is uneven or exposed it may be necessary to add more double pronged 1.2m posts. ( 4.01) If the area is very undulating or very exposed we recommend adding several double Pronged /extra thickness premium poultry posts of 1.2m. ( 5.92 each). Fence Testers indicate fence voltage and can detect earthing and other problems. Testers range from a simple 6 lite tester (where lights indicate 1000, 2000 to 5000 volts), to a digital volt meter which gives a more accurate measurement. We also have a Fault Finder which points in the direction of earthing problem.
