WBA1-75-SC The WBA1-75-SC has been specifically designed to meet the exacting requirements of Wind Turbine rotor braking applications, where guaranteed stopping and holding performance is required in both emergency and routine maintenance situations. The WBA1-75-SC is designed for gearbox mounting and features a floating brake caliper. This enables the brake to self-centre on the brake disc during operation, catering for axial displacements in the drive train. Constructed from ductile cast iron, the WBA1-75-SC has a single 75 mm diameter piston, features a proprietary piston seal and protection boot design, and is fitted with thrust plates, lining wear indicators and a position backstop as standard. This unique combination of features ensures that the WBA1-75-SC provides reliable long term operation over extremes of environmental conditions, and simplified in-service inspection and maintenance for the duration of the Wind Turbine s lifetime. Key Features Hydraulically applied brake Sintered metallic linings for high speed/high energy applications Large brake lining area for reduced wear and reduced operating temperatures Lining retraction springs to eliminate brake drag when brake is not applied Lining thrust plates for faster lining replacement Electrical lining wear status indicator Hydraulic drain ports to prevent oil contamination on the brake disc Small air gap (between disc and lining) for minimum brake reaction time Few moving parts for increased lifetime and easy maintenance -40 C to 70 C operational range Customer Options Carlisle NoiseFree organic (non-asbestos) linings Extreme cold climate (-50 C) version Offshore version available Fully customised caliper designs brakes wind turbine
