The Q-Cells Q6L is the first cell in this format to be produced by an European manufacturer another first for Q-Cell The Q-Cells Q6LM The monocrystalline solar cells with the extended 6-inch format are 10 % more powerful than multicrystalline solar cells. The results from series production have shown a mean efficiency of 16.6 %. With their edge length of 156 mm Q-Cells Q6LM is by 18 % more powerful than even the multicrystalline Q6 solar cells with their 150 mm edge lengths. The Q-Cells Q6LTT The acid texturized Q6LTT solar cell with an edge length of156 mm differs visually fundamentally from the successful Q6L cells. Although multicrystalline raw material is still being used, its structure has almost become invisible. The new surface assures improved light absorption. Compared to the previous cell design this means an efficiency increase of more than 4 % without making any deductions to the Q-Cells profit power. Furthermore the Q6LTT holds a decreased Hot-Spot-Risk and stands for higher mechanical stability when the cell is processed into a module. The Q-Cells Q6LTT3 The Q6LTT3 is Q-Cells latest development. Adding a third busbar on the surface of the cell improves series resistance at cell and module level. The Q6LTT3 s surface is acid texturized, like the Q6LTT; the material s crystalline structure is virtually invisible once processed. The blue anti-reflective finish on the surface of the cell helps absorb impacting light better, improving efficiency. The solar module is based on a dedicated semiconductor design. The glass base area of 1000 x 600 mm is subdivided to form sub-modules according to the customer's layout specification. Electrically inactive regions are provided between these sub-modules, and a computer controlled glass-cutting machine makes the cut without damaging the active layers. Due to the high degree of automation, manufacturing of small customized modules is possible.
