E-Mobility Trainings Handling electric drives safely TÜV SÜD Akademie GmbH 01

02

E-Mobility Trainings Handling electric drives safely Electric vehicle drives are gaining ground in both hybrid and pure electric vehicles. Voltage peaks of up to 1,000 volts can occur in these drives. Therefore, it is crucial that technicians working in workshops or for automotive manufacturers know how to handle high-voltage systems safely. TÜV SÜD Academy qualifications take the demanding requirements of E-Mobility into account. Determining an individual s exact training requirements is a complicated matter that depends on the qualification level and the activities each individual performs. Depending on requirements and prior knowledge, we teach employees how to carry out non-electrical work on high-voltage systems safely, how to carry out electrical work in the deenergized state or the specific requirements for live working. What E-Mobility trainings does TÜV SÜD Akademie provide? We offer a modular training scheme. The content can be divided into three levels that cover non-electrical work, electrical work (disconnected) and live working. All types of training include examinations. 03

Nonelectrical working Area Electrical working in the de-energized state Live working Employee prior knowledge Electrical layperson Automotive knowledge Electrician or electrician for high-voltage systems in vehicles TÜV SÜD Academy training Sensitization for Safe Work on Motor Vehicles with HV Systems Training as Qualified Electrician for HV Systems in Motor Vehicles Live Working for Qualified Electricians for HV Systems in Motor Vehicles Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 04

Sensitization for Safe Work on Motor Vehicles with HV Systems Self-learning program Almost all auto repair shops will have to handle hybrid or electric vehicles sooner or later. Those working with such vehicles with high voltage systems must be aware of their potential dangers and possible protective measures. This applies to all employees i.e. not just mechanics in the repair shop, but also the cleaning staff and office workers who might come into contact with the vehicles. With our practical, web-based self-learning program employees will be aware of the dangers associated with HV systems and how to provide first aid in an emergency. The program includes several comprehension tests and the final certificate serves as proper documentation of the participant s ability to carefully handle risks concerning the dangers of motor vehicles with HV systems. Contents Layout of a high voltage system Dangers of electric current Accident prevention measures First aid measures for accidents in the electro-technology field Technical safeguards Knowledge tests Location Online Duration 1 course unit (approx. 45 minutes) Who should attend All employees without electrotechnology training who might come into contact with automobiles with high voltage systems 05

Training as Qualified Electrician for HV Systems in Motor Vehicles Vehicle manufacturers and suppliers Electromobility is on the rise. On the basis of your professional knowledge as a vehicle electrician, mechatronician or mechanic you can complete the course to become an electrician for working on vehicles with HV systems. You are then qualified to work independently and safely on vehicles with HV systems (e.g. electric cars, hybrid vehicles). In addition you are capable of assessing the work delegated to you, to reliably recognize possible dangers, and to put into practice all necessary protective measures. Expand your skills and position yourself for the market of the future electric mobility. Contents Organization of safety and health for electrical engineering work Protective measures Technical and managerial responsibility Employee qualifications in the field of electrical engineering Use of HV systems in vehicles: Introduction, concepts, measurements, component replacement, etc. Examination Best practices Duration Approx. 5 days Who should attend Persons without an electrical engineering education, but with a qualification as vehicle electrician, mechatronician or mechanic, whose area of work is going to include HV systems in powered vehicles. Note Successfully completed vocational training as vehicle electrician, mechatronician or mechanic is required. Your benefits You extend your field of competence as an electrician for HV systems in vehicles. You acquire knowledge with a future in the area of electric mobility. You can reliably handle the demands of high voltages. 06

Live Working for Qualified Electricians for HV Systems in Motor Vehicles You have completed the training for qualified electricians for HV systems in vehicles and will now log vehicle measurement data during motor operation in the scope of the research and development process. Because live working is only permitted in exceptional circumstances, we will train you for this specific function. Contents Accident statistics Terms in live working Problems in vehicle technology Standards and regulations for live working Operational organization Personal protective equipment and tools Behavior following an accident Preparation for practical training Practical training Theoretical examination Duration 1 day Who should attend Automobile electricians, mechatronics engineers or mechanics who have completed training as qualified electricians for HV systems in motor vehicles or who have completed vocational training as electrician, master electrician, electrical engineer in low-voltage technology. Certificate Certificate from TÜV SÜD Akademie Trainer Expert trainer from TÜV SÜD Akademie Your benefits You will gain the expertise required for specific activities required in live working. You will be able to log measurement data during operation in the scope of the development process of electric vehicles. You will expand your possible scope of work in the automotive manufacturing and supply field. 07

Your Benefits at a Glance E-Mobility training enables your staff to practice safe handling of HV technology under live or disconnected conditions. This helps to save lives and raise awareness of new technologies.
